Fair point, but hard to argue that it isn't good for him personally
-
That's exactly how I read it. I think it's more important for the person donating sometimes. You're not there, you can't do anything and...this at least makes it feel like you're helping in SOME way. But it definitely doesn't read as 'we need money for the bills.' *I also assume Ben would share with his wife how to access his cryptocurrency. I doubt he still has it in a password protected wallet, but...even if he does, he's a 40 year old father with 3 kids, I'm guessing it's with his other financial documents.

Legitimate question, why does it bother any of you guys? If the answer is because you’re Iowa fans, I get it. But let’s not pretend like we all had it figured out at 18. And sure it’s not great for the sport to commit and flip. But he should be worried about what’s right for him at 18, not the sport. IF he has a question about Iowa’s culture and if that’s the right place for him, his development, and his EDUCATION, than he would be short-changing himself not to make a change. At the end of the day, this is a kid (or young man, if you really want to get technical). Let him work out what’s best for him. Unfortunately, there’s a social media and promotional component, but that’s the sad state of current affairs. Cut away the fat, and this is a kid just working out what’s best for his development and growth as an athlete and person.

I have to echo the sentiment...i don't think there is any doubt that he has the Bo Nickal disease and starts fidgeting the second no one is paying attention.
-
Not a good loo for Bo or Iowa. Curious what drove this. Experience with Iowa or seeing what the experience of non-Iowa recruits is. I’m not 13 years old … but that said, I don’t expect to root much for this guy. Jax, Blaze, and other guys seem a lot less narcissistic.

the only wrestling media account worth looking at....literally

its not good for the sport, anymore than Ferrari being an idiot does. Its like Flo, it farms within, doesn't grow a thing.

Him being an "attention whore" is a strategy to build a brand which is good for him and for the sport.
-
Not gonna lie it does bother me a little bit that he made such a big deal about his “commitment”, but then changed it anyway.

buffalo bill nabs the weirdest post of the day....
-
IDK seems like a weird time to tout his status as a role model. i appreciate the cordiality of your post.

This is worse than when my pet caterpillar refused to pupate when I was a kid

Hammer, this kid has done a lot to inspire and engage with youth wrestlers. Chill out brotha

are morons still tip toeing towards the ridiculous idea that you shouldn't give the askren's money because they've already got more than them or dana white should pay for it something?
-
Call him what you want but he's built a large enough social media following that he can probably get legitimate compensation for it.

Yes, but I'd be shocked if he didn't have insurance. That should cover everything up until ~15K...with the exception(possibly of the transportation from LV to Wisconsin). It's entirely possible however that it wasn't deemed "medically necessary" to move him from LV to Wisconsin. That would likely have been extremely expensive. Maybe it's so...Amy can be there and not have to work(I don't know if she is a Stay at home mother) or maybe she has to pay for childcare or maybe...a hundred other things. Maybe it's just something someone set up because they felt like that's the only thing they could do. I mean, IIRC, when Ben's Wife Amy last posted an update, she said someone had set up a fundraiser for the RTC, something Ben wanted to do and I don't recall her mentioning her own fundraiser. Something like this costs money even if the actual hospital bills don't cost money. You're entire life is put on hold and from what everyone has said publicly, his wife has pretty much been camping out in his room. Whatever it's used for, I'm fine with it.

when does it become ok? Isn't he 18?
-
"Bless your heart"
-
Wish I could but it's too late in life for that. Paid too much into social security, family, etc. I'm encouraging my kids to consider it though, against my own interest. I want what's best for them.

"Look, they're not good for me as a wrestler, a person or a Christian. But I will never say anything bad about them" is legit hilarious.

Keep trusting netrnyaoo. He's been saying Iran's "almost" got a nuke since 2006. He's gotta be right one of these decades. -
Definitely not. 1) the kid is a kid. 2) he’s working out the best place for him during the most pivotal point of his life. 3) even if I don’t like the histrionics of social media, he’s been able to build something for himself already. Let him do his thing.
