You’re just being ridiculous. The officer did nothing wrong. If this were Fallujah like you alluded to that idiot would be dead. where do the police get the impression violent rioters mean them harm. I have no idea…. it’s probably a figment of their imagination right?
-
Yes, because this is something that is very very rare for someone to do. My first thought when I saw this this morning was how ridiculous it is this is top line news.

Im not defending the unethical and obviously immoral Dr. Strauss. The guy was a disgrace to the profession and the University. However, no one thinks an 18 year old is a child. Can children vote in elections or be drafted into war? -

There was also an implication that he was giving them steroids (possibly unknowingly to the athletes) and that if he was reported he would then report them for steroids (and in fact the doc said he did file a counter-complaint against one of the staff that filed a complaint against him) -

Why does that matter? It's not illegal. Should we not hold police officers to a higher standard than random civilians? -

I do seem to remember a lot of bashing of DiSabato when the story first broke. -
So many words. No reason to suspiciously sneak up on a police car like that. Your take is not appropriate.

Again, you should be able to approach a police officer like he's a human being, not a dangerous animal. No other Western Democracy has this issue, at least to this degree. This is the consequence of training our officers with occupation tactics. They view the civilian populace as an inherently hostile force looking to harm them. It's not a coincidence that a huge portion of our nation's police forces receive training from the IDF or former IDF members. Here's a fun anecdote: A cop once pulled his gun on me. He saw me speeding. Instead of putting his lights on and pulling me over, he followed me into a parking lot. Once I parked, he put his lights on (no siren) and pulled up behind me. By that time, I was reaching to my passenger seat floor to grab a bag. I got out of the car without realizing he was there. He immediately pulled his gun and yelled at me to get back in the car. This was in a Midwest suburb with a literal ZERO percent murder rate. Yet, this cop behaved like he was in Fallujah stopping a suspicious vehicle. It's a fundamentally dangerous worldview for a police officer to have. Being a cop comes with risk. That's what you sign up for. You are committing to public service. Part of that service is putting the public safety ahead of your own. That means you shouldn't be drawing your gun at every sudden movement or unexpected approach from a stranger. If I manage to avoid doing that everyday, I think it's fair to expect our police officers to do the same. -

Dang, defending Strauss right now is crazy work. I said, in their minds, they were children and he was a well respected dr. They said it in the doc. He targeted freshmen kids who JUST got to campus. I guess TECHNICALLY they were adults in that they were 18, but I'm curious to wonder why you think that makes it ok? -
I was going through Euros and noticed Mongush and spencer had a common opponent and was diving a bit deeper into mongush and it made me think Worlds may not be the walk in the park I thought it was for Spencer but I wanted to set this up more like a dual format than just those two. 57kg: Lee (2x u20 world champ olympic silver) vs Mongush (u23 world champ 2025 senior euros champ) common opponent Bazargonov spencer won 6-3 Mongush won 5-0. Mongush also notably lost in the finals to to suda 8-8 at 61kg who is probably our 61kg's biggest opp at worlds. I will go spencer here but I think Mongush is his toughest opponent and he is on a pretty wild growth trajectory. 1-0 61kg: Jax/Vito (senior gold and bronze)/(cadet silver) vs Uguev(2x world 1x olympic gold at 57kg) Uguev still won euros this year in a controversial one to Haryutunyan. Suda that I mentioned above is probably our toughest opponent I think either guy we send beats Uguev. 2-0 65kg: Real (ranking series bronze) vs Mamedov (junior world champ senior bronze) I love Reals trajectory and how freely he has been wrestling but Mamedov is a very unique challenge that I do not think Real can overcome right now. 2-1 70kg: PJ (Junior bronze) vs Baev (world gold, junior gold, u23 silver) PJ's gives him a shot against anyone I think but Yianni got to his legs and finished pretty surgically once he got through the head hands and Baev is wrestling as good as anyone at any weight right now. I think Baev takes this one 2-2. 74kg: Carr (cadet bronze, Junior gold) vs sounds like sidakov will be going (3x world gold 1x olympic gold) Sidakov did lose to valiev at Euros prior to the injury which should give some hope that he is becoming more human. That being said Carr did not have many answers to Salkazonov who has always been a tier below sidakov so I am not ready to predict that level of upset until I see it. 3-2 Russia. 79kg: Haines (pan am champ) vs Usmanov (junior silver world gold) Usmanov is a monster I think Levis inexperience internationally may prove troublesome for him but a the same time he is going to present a pace that the European guys will not like. Usmanov is a monster though I would pick him against whomever America sent aside from maybe Kyle. 4-2 Russia. 86kg: Zahid (world bronze, junior silver) vs Naifanov/Kadiev (junior gold,u23 silver, 2x world bronze)/(2x junior gold) (the russians on X think Kadiev is the second coming however to my knowledge Naifonov beat him last time they wrestled and he was the rep at euros so I am expecting him to be there. Whoever they send I think Zahid is the best wrestler at this weight. The only question is if his cardio allows him to be the best for 6 minutes. 4-3 Russia 92kg: I am not sure who Russia sends here Karugliev is their best guy but he wrestles for greece Trent should clear whoever goes at this weight perhaps Kadiev bumps. 4-4 97kg: snyder vs Sadulaev we have seen this one before one guy appears to still be close to peak of his powers and the other has lost to a 20 year old from japan this year so I do not expect the upset we always hope for 5-4 Russia 125kg: Wyatt kills whoever they send 5-5

200 complaints is wild. I think that's on the school. Even if Jim Jordan knew(seems like everyone knew), why does it matter? Plenty of complaints were ignored before, during, and after he was there. And why are you using the word child? I know a guy who got paid out from this debacle. I heard the guy would give you hernia exams when you came in for a sprained ankle and he would show up and shower with the team for no apparent reason - he probably fondled himself while in there. Definitely class action worthy. And this is totally unsubstantiated, but this whole thing kicked off from statements from Mike DiSabato, and rumors were that this was a way to get to Jim Jordan because his company, Cage Fighter, was losing a ton of business to Rudis - both Ohio companies that were outfitting wrestling teams across the state. He was going on CNN and making a ton of personal attacks. This does not diminish the reality of the situation, but I always thought that was interesting. -
He didn’t have to approach the officer at all. The takes y’all get sometimes are pretty mind boggling.

It's not a good thing that you have to approach cops like they're dangerous animals. They're supposed to protect us, not the other way around. -

So it’s okay for anyone to point a gun at someone if they are crouching behind their car?

Plus with all the dual events etc and NHSCA being so close to so many schools it is easier to see these kids and see them more often for sure. And, wrestling is just better as a rule on the East Coast/Midwest. -
As should be. Police have been shot by folk approaching their cruiser. You should never approach a police car from behind and show your hands so they know you have nothing in them.
-
A lot of maybes there. There are a few facts In the vid. No reason for some protestor needed to go take a pic of the officers license plate in moving traffic. Sneaking up on the car is suspicious af. The officer has no idea his intentions. Officer did nothing wrong here.
