  3. Well, I do lean slightly left of center so the fact that it isn't showing up on any of my liberal News feeds is a very strong indication that few people are actually upset about this. Along with the fact that none of the liberals on here care about it either. This is mostly yet another fabrication of our right-wing media.
  4. PA doesn't start school until the end of August
  5. California needs water to survive.
  6. There are kids who wrestle Fargo and compete for other countries. Kayden Hanlon was at Fargo this year and 2 weeks later competed at U17 Worlds for Great Britain.
  7. Hopke tore his pec first week on campus his freshman year and is just getting back on the mat in the last couple months for the first time since. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The biggest counter to the... 'allegations' ...?... that float with that, is that DT's tank cannot be overlooked. Most folks who venture down that path have gas tank issues, don't they? Also, I understand that Hamiti =/= Taylor. Taylor had broad shoulders and was able to grow in to the weight. Hamiti and Taylor might have the same wingspan, but Taylor is a good half a foot broader (or more) - which makes Hamiti's arms longer. Just different sorts of scrawny frames to build off of.
  9. Our farmers dump milk and we pay people not to farm. The only reason a very over regulated California can sell anything is because of their location and shipping costs.
  10. These are all fair and well-thought points, thank you. I understand we are talking in just under three year's time, but Mirasola does hold the edge right now with three straight victories in the last few months (see attached). That said, I acknowledge that Ross has unlimited potential due to his potential growth. Ross weighed at 102.4 KG (so 225.7lbs, which makes the 'cut' down to 97 KG/213.8lbs that much more convenient) and Mirasola weighed in at 99.2 KG - so currently their weights aren't that wide apart. I still think Hopke is likely set up to succeed, which I think the better depth we have - the better everyone is at the weight. I also thought he was going to be that next guy and Steveson coming back was going to mask his Redshirt year real nice. I still have a hard time envisioning Mirasola being better than him at this point, even if every result points to that. I don't mean that as a sleight to Mirasola, but more a compliment because he has progressed quite a bit, even if he is only ~218lbs. I could see Millard stepping in to a more prominent position on the senior level, he has that moxy. He just needs to put it all together and stay healthy. I don't think he's there now, but you see those flashes - much like Mizzou's Steed. I also agree on Hamiti. It's a one move world in MFS and I imagine that was exactly it. I didn't watch the match myself, but I believe Roper, more or less, confirmed as much. That was also more to say that Ruiz is right up there at or near that tier right now, too. Shapiro is not a physical dynamo... but he could still be our best option at 74 KG after 2028 (maybe even then) were he to get any concussion issues behind him. He's just so damn slick. I know Duke looks the part, and is a physical dynamo, but Shapiro has done better against the upper echelon on the age-level than Duke has (one common opponent in Baitukaev, 8-0 victory for Shapiro and a 5-5 defeat for Duke)... but one opponent does not a pattern make. I think Johnny D's result at 70 KG was due to lacking the horsepower to go with Duke in a three match series. Shapiro might also have that problem.

  12. Every season covers some aspect of politics in a way. One season is about public schools. One about actual mayoral : city politics, one is the police dept cooking the books, one the decline of blue collar labor, one the local media etc. I’m sure I am missing something.
  13. Like James Gandolfini before him! This also wouldn't shock me.
  14. So what you’re saying is you believe nothing in the world exists beyond your social media’s algorithms, which directly plays specifically into what you want to see. I would strongly recommend you watch the documentary “The Social Dilemma”.
  15. I’ve worked at more than one company that left Cali. Here is a short list of some others: chevron, Tesla, Twitter , space x , oracle, Hewlett-Packard, McKesson, Charles Schwab, palantir, CBRR, AECOM, fico (fair Isaac), Toyota motor North America, kubota tractor corporation, Jamba Juice, in n out burger, John Paul Mitchel systems. 350+ left from 2018 to 2021. 200+ from 2021 to 2025. 800+ from 2011 - 2021. Most are leaving for excessive high taxes, complex regulations, and the cost of living in California. It’s not just Cali - other blue states are losing businesses too. For example Illinois lost Boeing, caterpillar, Allstate, citadel , Tyson foods, peak6 investing, ttx, guggenheim partners, prairie farms diaries, office max, Chicago bridge and iron, and yaskawa America. why leave Illinois. Again mainly taxes. Other blue state departures of note. Yum brands (kfc Taco Bell Pizza Hut), foot locker, arrow electrics, adecco staffing, Gentiva health.
  16. More than 85% of Oracle’s employees do not work in their Redwood City office…..
  17. Likely a mix of fluke draws helping us to the finals which made the team look better than it was and some choking.
  18. I honestly took it as good natured braggadocio across the Ivies
  19. Also if you haven't seen it 'The Campaign' with will farrel is hilarious and what was once a parody of our politics now seems pretty accurate but that had me laughing pretty good
  20. Big RED Bear? I don't even know what you do when you see those I have the other three down. If it's Black, Fight Back. If it's Brown, lay down. If it's white, say good night. Do you just pretend to not know they're from an Ivy and take subtle jabs like, "wow...Cornell? An Ivy? You mean like Harvard, Yale...Penn, those types of schools? Huh... I never would have thought. I guess in every race, there's someone who finishes last...every test, someone who gets the worst score." (This may only work with one particular Colleague of mine and it invariably gets them fired up to the point where they start telling me how it's better than my alma mater to wit I simply reply, "nah, don't think so,' despite it being true by nearly every metric...and then invariably they bring up RBG....which is when I have to remind her, she only started at Cornell, she knew she had to do better which is why she went to Harvard and Columbia... or Carl Sagan and I say, "yeah, but he was so corny on Full House," and even after the 4th or 5th time it has NEVER not gotten them worked up, but they also wear a Cornell sweatshirt, hat, shirt...literally every single time I see them outside of a work environment). And... no, his name is not Andy and I don't work for a paper company, but it's...not THAT far off. Sorry from derailing this thread, but... it kinda felt like the train was no longer moving and the passengers were disembarking).
  21. Oh, one last thing. I still want to believe... BADLY that DT acquired that physique through relentless training and diet. That Trainor Labs(I know that's not the spelling, but you know who I mean) needs it's guys to stay clean as there's definitely a "guilt by association," type thing that happens with some of these guys.
  22. I'm not sure what to make of Hopke at this point. He clearly looked to be the top Wrestler at that weight for a while. I'd have placed him ahead of Keuter and Ross right now when he was coming off his Jr year. I just didn't see a jump his Jr to Sr year and then he was banged up at Minnesota and now we're seeing these guys taking a big leap. And for those who'll say I'm crazy, Kueter was better, I'm talking about...at the time, it looked like Hopke had a higher upside. As for the rest, I didn't see Hamiti, I don't know if he gave up a TD and then 4 laces. You can get teched in FS of of one low single that someone transitions to a low single or you can just...not be in it. I try to not put too much weight on a single match(though in fairness, if he'd have beaten...Ghasempour up at 92, I'd have put a bit more weight in it(and that would also have required Hamiti to as well!). But I've seen enough of Hamiti to know what he's capable of. As for Ross and Mirasola... they're not in the same league to me right now. Maybe TODAY Mirasola could beat him just by being more physical(I don't know he could, but for arguments sake) but Ross is just a far better athlete, he's so much longer and he's going to fill out. Watching him earlier on in HS, he looked like he had back problem. He looked like a hunch back. You only realized it was because his back was so damn big when he stood up. He just uncoils and attacks like a Cobra...and for a HWT, he's going to hit blast double on guys... and he can brawl and hand fight with them. Hell, I wouldn't be totally shocked if he tries going '97KG for the '28 cycle upon taking an OLY RS. If he's 235... I don't know, it may be a really bad idea, but if he just has to make the cut a couple times in a OLY RS year...211... it's not crazy and I think he he could be dangerous. I don't think that'll happen, but it's just something that popped into my mind. I thought Rowlands(who Ross reminds me of... but I think Ross has a more explosive and lower shot...we'll see if how that plays out given Rowlands is one of the greatest HWT Wrestlers ever and was himself a very athletic and mobile Wrestler) -went down one year in there, maybe two toward the end. He was just running into Mocco and had trouble taking 2 of 3 from Mocco because he was... just such a Monster and he wasn't just pushing, he had some slick stuff for guys who had to push back as hard as a guy like Rowlands did to hold center, namely that foot sweep. I also could have sworn one year Cormier Wrestled 96KG for Freestyle and 120 for Greco...finishing 1st in FS, but not qualifying for Greco, losing to Byers... but I'm thinking I got that wrong. Tryin to do both would be so insanely difficult, I must be mistaken. Finally, Shapiro... I just don't think he's got the mix of physicality and technique to do it. He has one. He's slicker than a greased up crack head(I'd imagine, I've never participated, but watching the sport, it looks quite difficult)... I just don't don't know if he will be able to stand in there vs Duke who you know is going to build himself into a GOOD sized 165... as presumably will Shapiro, but Duke I would anticipate having much more horse power and Shapiro... I'm sold on him as a GREAT Freestyle Wrestler. He could go 70-0 the next two years and I'd just say, 'ok, makes sense,' but Duke and the plethora of guys coming down(hell, Blaze may end up at 74KG further down the road as I think he has a lot of room to fill out, though I'd imagine he stays at 145.5)... Oh, and Melvin Miller. Get HIM in a College room for a couple years. He may turn out to be a cycle later, but by the time he's done growing, he could be perfect for 79KG and then 86 and Duke's Defense isn't Blaze level, but watching him win a spot on the World Team and ALSO struggle with a kid coming off his Soph year in HS... there is SOOO much talent coming. Lockett. Hell, the longer I keep thinking, the most names I'm going to spit out. And I'm just throwing this out as a Dark Horse, but I would not be surprise to see Charlie Millard end up in this group... now by '28, but shortly thereafter. He reminds me a little of Sinclair, but he's a guy who cuts more, he's a little more intense and... I don't know, he just always felt like he belonged in the same conversation of Hopke, Sinclair, Mirasola's, Mesenbrink, Scholes(another stud), or O'Toole, PK, Wolbert.. just among the real studs from Wisconsin. But that's a big time dark horse and I just want to be able to say "I called it," when he wins a spot in the 2029 World Team beating Ladarion Lockett to get to face Jayden James in a best of 3!
  23. I know. It's "lots." So many that... it's not even worth naming all of them! And again, even the companies that move their headquarters, they keep the core of their business in California. Oracle(I gave you a 3rd) runs from it's California offices. It's where the majority of it's workforce is and where they're programmers are. And if California didn't have to subsidize so many Red States, their own States taxes would be a LOT lower. ... "what the word losing 40 million a year means?" What is "the word?" You realize that's multiple words, right? Also, I said literally nothing about their P&L. I said you don't know what the word "subjective" is. See, when I did it, I actually used a word. When you did it, you used... a sentence. You also realize that... still doesn't mean someone is funny or not, right? Do you understand why he was canceled? -Do you get he still had the highest viewership, 2.4M a night? -Do you understand people 18-49, the most valuable demographic has largely cut the cord and they're now streaming. So despite his viewership still being dominant, the more important demographic, among which he was...again, still the most popular, well there were less of them watching the show live... as people did in the good old days when Iowa was still the top program. They now stream the show, fast-forward the commercial. What do you think that causes? That's rhetorical, it causes advertisers to pay FAR less in advertising fees. This, NOT the success of the program of the perception of Colbert being "funny," which again, is...objectively...subjective, led to the advertising dropping from 440M per annum to ~220M. That's a 160M a year loss purely due to how people consume Television. It wasn't some larger statement about who is "funny," though with the moron we have running the country suing people for free speech, and paramount going through a merger, that...very likely played a role. In any event, that you thought comedy wasn't subjective isn't NEARLY as stupid as you thinking a TV show that tapes in New York City somehow contributed to California's value to the United States in terms of GDP and more importantly, where 5 of the largest 10 companies in the WORLD are located. I can't imagine someone saying California is important and coming back and answering, 'err...why, because a show they tape in New York City that loses money!' Please Christ tell me you have someone manage your retirement for you. I don't care if they charge 10% per year, you seem like the type who'd invest in DJT or Trump Steaks while saying "Crypto isn't real money! Suckers! I'll never!"
