Easy answer for me. All the Olympics are anyways is a pissing match of who has more medals between us and russia ......of course their is great matches from other countries ...but at the end of the day. It's the US vs them aspect that keeps wrestling somewhat relevant. There is also something about a dual format that makes it more intense.

No there is a huge need for Russia USA dual. Why have we dualed every other country via world cup but not Russia ? That dual would blow the Olympics out of the water.

Why would either do this when they can wait after the Olympics and do an exhibition and make $$$. The other thing about Metcalf is no one could even touch him domestically. Oliver couldn't even get close. And for quite a while. These days if a guy isn't getting touched he is winning medals Metcalf was medal worthy and medal caliber He was a stud

I felt better about Metcalf internationally then zain. Metcalf to me is the best guy that never won a medal in USA wrestling history. Everytime he stepped on the mat I thought he had a chance. He won the world cup pretty dominantly and when he did lose it was a nailbiter. At 65 now...we can't compete with the elites.

Dake is on a mission for gold. He will not be denied After that....I don't see a gold at all Zain is a Metcalf clone on international. Will lose a tough battle by getting out gamed and out savvied Brooks is not touching a pissed off yaz. Brooks gold medal mentally and training wise was beating Taylor. Yaz wants it more and good matchup. Snyder.....he is bronze quality .... His upset over sadulaev is a one off. The gap is widening. The field also has proven they can pick off Snyder. He has not gotten any better since trading OSU for Penn state That leaves Spencer Lee and Paris. Both imo can medal and are the x factors on the team ....could make the finals.....but they aren't winning gold.

Brooks also wrestles a style somewhat similar to hidlay. And dieringer. And yaz Getting into a bull fight with yazdani is a guarantee loss. You won't out bull the bull. You have to be somewhat dynamic to wrestle yaz and stay out of his game and make it a different style of game Brooks prefers the grind out style and out strength you ....this is not Kaleb Romero or Trent hidlay

Has Valencia ever faced off against yazdani ? He poses the next best leg attacks outside Taylor that we've seen give yaz trouble. Of course....Valencia looks like he could pass for an Iranian as well. So would like to see it Pico another Iranian looking guy got smashed by yaz back in the day
