  1. I could definitely see it benefiting Ronna to train with Seth. But I don't see it benefiting Seth to train with Ronna.
  2. Who do they plan on training with? Each other?
  3. It’s official via his Instagram.
  4. Sorry, that came off wrong. I just meant I feel SDSU is reaching their ceiling and should consider coaching changes. Did not mean to put them in the same tier as LHU, although I can see how it did sound that way.
  5. I think it depends on the school and their expectations, combined with how they are doing relative to their expectations. For example, take Lock Haven. Small school. I'm not sure of their NCAA team finishes over the past few years, but seems like they're consistently a top 20 finish. Producing multiple AA's/blood round guys every year. I think that is about their ceiling, and they're reaching it. So I don't think they should make any changes. Same with SDSU. On the other hand, look at Wisconsin. I'm not here to throw jabs. But I think we can all agree they have not been reaching what we all think their ceiling is. Same with Indiana. I don't think a coaching change or two would be bad in these cases. Even though Lock Haven is on the same tier as Indiana/Wisconsin, we look at one as excelling and one was hurting.
  6. I’ll be surprised if he’s not the guy for Iowa at 141 this season.
  7. I think Brands bros are pretty high on Ryder Block, and rightfully so.
  8. Yes, I get your point. But my point is, what major program would take him over their current roster/incoming recruits? A lot of mid majors would, obviously. But if that's the case I'd imagine he'd stay at UTC. I'm sure some major programs have reached out to him, but I doubt the offer has been lucrative considering they see him a depth guy.
  9. I get your point, but his best win was Dylan Chappell, and he had losses to Hunter Mason (by fall), Danny Fongaro, Mendez, and Cole Matthews. He went 4-3 vs national qualifiers, and his wins were Todd Carter (3x) who was #32 seed at NCAAs, and Chappell who was #16 seed. Not exactly a killer resume. The 25-4 is a bit inflated due to schedule.
  10. I bet you’re a joy to be around at parties huh?
  11. You are correct. Same thing as OKST/Coleman situation.
  12. In other news, water is wet.
  13. Glazier’s best win was over Jaxon Smith (0-time AA in two tries), and his best result was a 5-1 loss to Aaron Brooks. Yes, that’s exactly my point on Ayala. A top 5 recruit should be able to make an NCAA final by their third college season. He also had losses to DeAug (2x) and Brandon Kaylor. I’m not saying they haven’t improved. But guys will get better as they get older/stronger/faster/wiser/smarter/etc., regardless of what big time college program they go to. I’m not sure I’d look at these two as examples of guys that Tom and Terry have “developed”.
  14. Did they? Ayala was a top 5 P4P recruit coming out (and lost to a guy he had battled with in HS in natty finals), I’d consider that living up to expectations more than anything. And Glazier went 1-2 at NCAA’s I believe.
  15. New head coach at Hofstra. Thoughts?
  16. Seems like a topic that would fit in perfectly on the MMA forum.
  17. Normally I would agree. But like I said, with Evans transitioning out of coaching altogether, that one seems unavoidable. And Neff took another coaching gig. So really only one coaching change in my opinion.
  18. I think this couldn't be farther from the truth. Davis was brought in to replace Evans (who left and, to my understanding, wanted out of the coaching world altogether), and Eustice was brought in to replace Neff (who left for a job at Bucknell). As Scubb said, 3-1 vs Army goes along ways. Additionally, they just had an All-American (first one since 2016), had another reach the bloodround (who returns), three more reach the round of 16 (one of which returns), and a T26 team finish (tied with Pitt, Indiana, and Lock Haven). They also had dual meet wins over Illinois & Pitt. I'd say for a service academy, this is a very successful season. Combine this with the athletes that transferred out/decommitted (Santaniello, Tallmadge, Rogotzke), I'd say the man is doing a pretty damn good job.
  19. I don't doubt Donnie as a coach in any way. I actually think he's one of, if not the, most qualified/credentialed coach on that list. I am just handicapping Columbia's top end success. I can't imagine recruiting there is very easy.
  20. I doubt Jore Volk is a grad transfer after two years of college.
  21. This could double as a line you'd hear in a sci-fi movie about time travel.
  22. Figured this would be a fun 'dog days of summer' discussion. In an offseason that I feel has seen more head coaching changes than normal, who do we think has a bigger impact on their respective program? Donny Pritzlaff - Columbia Donnie Vinson - Buffalo Ben Bennett - Central Michigan David Taylor - Okie State Adam Hall - Utah Valley The question is not who will place higher at NCAA's, because obviously Taylor would be the frontrunner for that. But, who will have more success compared to where they finished last year. Who will see the most improvement in the first year, in 3 years, and in 5 years? For me, I still think the answer is David Taylor to all three. But I see Vinson and Hall both doing great things. Both of those two were left with a relatively bare cupboard and it's only a matter of time before they start getting higher level recruits (UVU has already started with Bearclaw) and developing the under-the radar kids.
