  1. I tend to agree. But FWIW, Merrill did lose to Buchanan on 2-0 and did beat Isaiah Salazar. I try to not judge guys based on close losses, but it's eye opening to me.
  2. That was my point. Because @pokemonster said Gilman causes problems wherever he's at.
  3. Either 174 (which is still not a given he beats Facundo) or on the bench.
  4. Honestly didn't realize he had been there four years. I haven't followed him, or Harvard, that closely tbh.
  5. Hard to imagine someone willingly wanted to give up a Harvard degree. Unless he'd be a grad student, which he could be. I am completely unaware of he is eligibility wise.
  6. Qualification process was determined based on 2025 NCAAs results, which they didn't perform well.
  7. You didn't listen to the Basch interview did you? Gilman seemed very at peace with the not only the loss to Spencer but his career as a whole. To say Spencer 'took his soul' would be a huge over exaggeration in my opinion.
  8. Wasn't aware of any of this. I don't have my nose to the ground that kind of stuff.
  9. I can't imagine they would be. There's not many AA's floating around out there, even if it was two tournaments ago.
  10. Where did I say significant? But yes, I think cutting weight, when don't the right way, is a good part of our sport. And my opinion won't change on that. And I know majority of college coaches feel similarly.
  11. I agree cutting weight builds character. Leave the system as is. It's not broken.
  12. Added to staff at UNI or OSU?
  13. Back to portal news, because if I don't stick to the topic I'll be a hypocrite. Do we think any UNI guys follow Roper to OSU? I know he's well liked. Keckeisen loved him. Does he make the move to Stillwater to train RTC?
  14. A 'tough cut' doesn't have to mean suffering and starving. For the college men, it means 'the dedication and self-discipline it took was tough.' WHICH IS GOOD FOR THE SPORT!! Wrestling is hard. Life is hard. Taking a hard part out of our sport will do more harm than good. Yes, to give the athletes time to recover after weigh-ins. Many have injuries that will require tape, heat/stimulant, braces, etc. Making them weigh-in mat side will not allow this. And if the counter argument to that is "Well weigh-in with your brace/tape/etc. on" then the athlete who is not hurt will have an even bigger advantage (on top of the advantage of not being injured).
  15. Which I have not. I am not on twitter, or any social media for that matter. Obviously I don't actually think people should be calling the words mentioned before. I don't think anyone should be called those for that matter. But I don't think she was looking for problems by making the comment. So yes, I was wrong to say 'Rightfully so'. Man enough to admit that mistake and move forward. Apologies.
  16. Like lumping a group of people (that you have never met) together based on one experience?
  17. Don't make controversial comments if you can't take the backlash associated with it. Snowflake behavior tbh.
  18. At most colleges. Iowa, Penn State, tOSU, OKST, ISU, UNI, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Rutgers, Navy, Army, etc. So yes, she's making an issue where there is not one.
  19. And Zo (who is French) is a coach in some capacity and Zahid is a Mexican-American.
  20. Did he get a medical?
  21. I never once said anything about suffering to make weight. The college men (and high level HS kids) are not suffering and starving themselves to make weight. Cutting weight, when done the right way, is not suffering. It's self-discipline and dedication. Period. Won't change my stance on that.
