  1. Agree 100%. But we’ve all seen guys that we thought were the next Cael and something always happens. Honestly, part of it is truly luck. Luck meaning no injuries, no illnesses, no over training or just feeling “off” on match day. I look at J’Den as a good example. True freshman at an upper weight (18/19 y/o vs. full grown men)…he was insane his true frosh year. Bad couple of matches otherwise he would have been a 4-timer and possibly undefeated with no RS. Same with Dake. Would love to see Jax or Duke be the next, but you never know…
  2. 4 years undefeated with no redshirt…
  3. Where are you thinking? Will Rath challenge Conway? Will Stillwell challenge Stoner?
  4. Brian Smith was just on FRL and it sounded like this is the projected lineup... 125: Mack Mauger 133: Kade Moore or Gage Walker 141: Seth Mendoza 149: Josh Edmond 157: J. Conway 165: Max Mayfield 174: Cam Steed 184: Aeoden Sinclair 197: Evan Bates or Colton Hawks 285: Jarrett Stoner Sucks for Hawks...definitely thought he'd AA at some point in his career.
  5. For me, downplaying it when you only have one side of the story is the problem and I can see why the accusers are upset. There is clearly some evidence of wrong doing, otherwise, in the sue happy world we live in, there would be defamation lawsuits for the original article. CS was added to USA wrestling's "Interim Membership Suspension" list and booted from NLWC; Why, if it's a "nothing burger"? But, I do agree with others in this group that Willie/Flo/Basch/Mineo/etc. (whom I would call "wrestling enthusiast's" instead of "journalists") use their platforms to make money, and it's hard to get the clickbait needed if you lose your inside track by saying something that may upset your sources. I can't blame them for that...if only everyone was lucky enough to cover their sport for a living. It's a sensitive topic, so people are always going to be unhappy...
  6. My take is option c.....it was calling it a "nothing burger". At least that's what I get from her post about your Basch show...
  7. What a (not surprising) sick story. But, here's the problem... 1) How do you prove that the coaches were made aware or knew about it, aside from multiple people saying they did? They couldn't get Jim Jordan because there was no proof. 2) Did the girls file police reports or go to the doctor after the alleged rape? I don't think you can charge somebody or prove rape unless there's documentation. Perhaps if a large number of women claim it...? 3) If the campus police that they refer to are true law enforcement (somebody said they have their own police department), it's nonsense that they couldn't get a hold of him. My guess is that he either referred them to his lawyer or pled the 5th. In that case, it should still go to a prosecutor (I believe) to determine if they want to bring charges. Over petty theft? Nah. 4) Look at how tOSU covered up that stuff in the documentary. Does anyone really think that they would fire Cael...the guy who IS penn state wrestling? If anything, they'll find a scapegoat. But again, I don't know how you prove that he knew anything unless it was in writing (Did Bartlett or these others email him?...Life lesson: Always put it in writing). The most disturbing part, in my opinion, is the underage girls. 17 is considered a minor in PA, plus the rape allegations. Hopefully there's some proof here and that this doesn't get covered up (or the girls paid off) because "we are...penn state". If true, I hope he gets his.
  8. I completely overlooked Robinson (don't know how). For some reason, Ryan Jack is not in Flo's list. Either they know something we don't or he was omitted unintentionally.
  9. That is fun. Took me a few to get the hang of it (guess I should have read the instructions first). I want more! haha
  10. It looks like all drawn teams have accepted with the exception of Arizona State. I know this isn't an individual tournament and we have no idea what matchups we'll see, but based on Flo's "2025-2026 NCAA Wrestling Championship Prediction Rankings" article, I've put together the "ranked" wrestlers and teams in attendance. In blue are teams that either haven't accepted (ASU) or are alternates (SDSU & WVU). Could be some pretty good early season match's depending on how the team brackets fall. Would have liked to see Iowa State involved, and of course Penn State, but...oh well.
  11. You're right, and very interesting. Nitzel is also off the roster, but not in the portal. They also don't have any of the incoming freshmen on there, which could be a case of the HS year not being over yet. Not gonna lie...and I genuinely mean this as no disrespect to a college kid, but...I'll be happy to see a new face at 149. Wasn't a fan of Gioffre.
  12. I noticed that too…already have the 25/26 roster page up.
  13. It shows he’s registered from the Nebraska WTC vs, Tiger Style WC. Typo, or something else going on?
  14. If you don't want to say, it's fine, but...what is his coaching style that you wouldn't want him coaching your kid?
  15. Ohio AA Peyten Kellar in the portal, according to Willie...
  16. I’m more saddened that his birth year is 4 years after I graduated high school
  17. Couldn't have said it better. I watched it this morning and like you said, what an inspiration. To get up in front of someone who took so much from you and wish him well...his parents should be very proud of the man they raised.
  18. Oh, I don’t believe for a minute that there was no reaching out prior to entering the portal. Basch has multiple times said on his podcast that he text Rocky and he said he wasn’t in the portal. Do I believe everything I hear? No. Do I try to respect 20ish year old college guys and give them the benefit of the doubt and expect (hope) that they follow the rules? Yes. Naive, yea, but try to think the best of people. Especially guys that I’ve watched since they were kids. For me, this one is a little closer to home, so likely give more benefit than I have others. We’ll see where he goes and in my mind, that will depict the motive.
  19. My guess in this situation is that Mizzou simply doesn’t have the donors/NIL funds that Iowa/Michigan/tOSU has. It’ll depend on where he goes, but there are likely two scenarios. One he hears about the bags of money wrestlers are getting by entering the portal + a better RTC, or two he’s following his brother to Rutgers. Mizzou has a serious lack of RTC now that J’Den left (look at ASU’s transfers after Sunkist closed), and I believe he has/had international aspirations. A guy of Elam’s caliber, who can compete with Barr and AJ, should command a lot of cash.
