Competitors out of Kansas City didn't quite have the long tradition that Twisters did, but I remember back in the missouriwrestling.com days, when Oak Park (MO) was ranked top 5 nationally and went to the Elite 8 duals. There was a big debate on the forums about Harvey Twisters-fed Chicagoland teams vs. Competitors-fed Oak Park. Those were some intense discussions to say the least... Is Harvey Twisters still around? I know Competitors isn't but was replaced by Victory Wrestling (which I believe is near Liberty).

Flo posted an interview on YouTube yesterday with Brian Smith where they discussed potential lineup battles. This is what it sounded like... 125: Mauger 133: Gage Walker (he said "there will be competition there from multiple time qualifier Kade Moore") 141: Fugitt (he said "Easton Hilton finished the season for us at 141 but Fugitt is there now and will wrestle off") 149: Mendoza (said he's really matured) 157: Gleason/Rath (he said "we have two good freshmen there who redshirted last year. Rath was hurt last year") 165: Conway/Heiser (he said "Heiser is dropping down to 165 and will challenge Conway for the spot". No mention of Bambinelli, which is interesting. 174: Steed 184: Sinclair 197: Geog 285: He didn't bring this up as a roster battle, surprisingly, so wonder how it's looking between Stoner and Stillwell

Other than a full ride, you think he’s getting a good chunk of NIL money? Asking, as I don’t know. I felt like it was for the betterment of the team until NCAA’s with the way he wrestled at 125. I believe he was ranked #1 at one point in the season. Just fell apart when it counted. In my mind, Bouzakis is the prime example of commitment to a program. I’d guess other programs would throw a ton of money at him and not make him cut to 125 to start. But he’d rather be miserable (cutting weight) and be at Ohio State. Maybe I’m a different breed, but if I just did what he did with that weight cut all season, and my coach even slightly indicated that I needed to be more disciplined, I’d seriously question my loyalty.

Wow. And what a great way to appreciate a kid that killed himself for a season cutting to 125 for the betterment of the prigram. Lost a little respect there....

With Stilly Boys in the mix now…has Flo given up on doing Films? I honestly subscribe just to watch them (it’s embarrassing how many times I’ve watched a lot of them). Would love to see more. Bader…where you at?

Wow. Just…wow. I went back on his Instagram to find the proposal reel and it’s been taken down, so pretty much confirms it was her. It didn’t seem like that long ago, but at least she found out right away what married life would be like… I wonder if he knows how women beaters get treated in prison…

Didn’t he just get engaged a month or so ago? I wonder what the fiancé thinks about all this and if she’s sticking around. Especially if the Palacio rumor is true.

Could you offset Carl’s extra matches with the level of competition these guys have? I would have said Jax has the best chance (talent-wise), but not with Marcus Blaze and Ben Davino around (see WTT and Final X). Vega certainly dominated his freshman year, but it sounds like he doesn’t do much during the offseason, which allows opponents to catch up. He also still has the body of a teenager, so I could see him being a Zahid and growing to the upper weights at some point. They all have the disadvantage of Bo Bassett possibly being in their weight class at some point over the next 3 years. Not saying he wins, but just makes it that much harder…

In hindsight, yes he definitely should have stayed at Bakersfield. But at the time, I'm sure he was chasing a bag. Not the brightest crayon in the box...

Somebody asked Dana White at the 250 post fight press conference if he was concerned about his fighters getting hurt or getting into trouble after the fight at RAF. He said “If Dillon Dannis is the opponent I can guarantee you a brawl’s gonna break out”.

I personally like Chimaev as a fighter and was excited to see him coming to RAF. I honestly think that was a HUGE get for RAF and great job by them making that happen. I think Dannis was the poor choice and the type of guy that shouldn’t be in RAF. If you had put a “professional” against Khamzat, it would have stayed respectful and would have been awesome, plus the drawing power to bring more eyes.

Here’s the difference, in my opinion. People watch hockey and know fights are part of it. As you said, they watch NASCAR for the crashes. People don’t watch wrestling for fights. That’s MMA. The problem is two-fold. 1) The people (all of us) that care to watch wrestling aren’t enough to support a “major league”. The powers that be (Bischoff and Hogan) saw that and said “how do we get enough fans to make this a profitable business?”. The closest sport with names that have drawing power is MMA. They know exactly what they’re doing by bringing these guys, and I’m sure there were ALOT more viewers and tickets sold because Chimaev was on the card. If this is truly about promoting wrestling, bringing in people that are guaranteed to fight should only be temporary until the $$ support the promotion without the antics. If it’s the opposite, that’s problem #2. If they looked at the UFC and said “we can’t compete in MMA, but if we can use their star power and replicate their model, we can be the next Dana White”. Using the guise of “help promote wrestling” to profit. At the end of the day, it’s a business, but it doesn’t sit well with me to make wrestling look bad just for money. I personally would much rather RAF be represented by Keegan O’Toole than any of these clowns.

How cool would it be to have Dan Gable come over for the main event? I don’t know if Kurt’s there but hopefully they continue that with him.
