I have already said I could care less if the kid was under 18. He hit a kid engaged in a fight around his dad. When you're hitting people, you can expect to get hit too. Is it role model behavior? My understanding, his dad entered the stands to confront some disrespectful fans and got pushed down the stands. Punches were being thrown and he got in on it.

Youve gotta read the article to the bottom then click the link on freestyle. For Olympic weights, the WTT will take place at the US Open in April. It will be a best of 3 final. The qualification process for the Olympic weights in 2027 is heavily based on 2026 results. Returning medalists still sit to finals at the weight they medaled. No auto-semifinal for weight changes. The US Open for the non-olympic weights will occur alongside this WTT for Olympic weights. The WTT for non-Olympic weights will occur later on, possibly May. We don't have the full picture on non-olympic weights yet.

It's definitely a different path for 2027 WTT at Olympic weights. They have to go to UWW/Ranking series events from now through April. Which 2026 ranking series already happened and there's only one prior to April 2027. By my count, there's about 5 UWW sanctioned events from now through April 2027. If you're not qualified, you're gonna need to go to Bill Farrell or spend the money to travel to a UWW/ranking series event. There are some guys who need to be top 3 at NCAAs or find another route - Valencia, Messenbrink, McEnelly, Vega, Stanich, Minto, Van Ness. And then there's some U20 guys that are interesting who will need to medal/top 3 NCAAs/UWW event. I think the system will work itself out just fine. There's not going to be a world medalist level guy missing at WTTs.

Convicted of disorderly conduct. This is just gross talking about him and his parents like this. His dad is likely current or former issues with alcohol. Just because Anthony got in a fight doesn't mean you need to dump all this stuff on his name over it. What else has Anthony done? And I'm far from NJ.

My initial reaction is that they need to define the 2028 qualification procedures by the end of the year so guys can decide how to approach 2027. With no exceptions for non-Olympic weight medalists entering Olympic weights in 2027, I am curious if that will be the same for 2028. With the staggered timing of Olympic/non-Olympic weights, it might make more guys give the Olympic weights a go in April 2027.

I don't care if he hit a 16 year old. It's two high school kids. Anyone saying otherwise is not being fair to the situation. They're both in high school. Law says otherwise, I don't care. It's just a fight. People make too big if a deal out of fight. Nobody got very hurt. This whole thing is dumb.

Hey man. I really appreciate your reponse. I'm not a hater. My opinions were not given to me, but just personal obsevations. I've never heard anyone bring up the things I brought up here. I am just curious to your thoughts on what I've noticed. I'm giving you a bird's eye view from a freestyle/folkstyle guy - as are most Americans. I can't argue your point about highly ranked or seeded guys losing not being a surprise to actual Greco fans. We see that in freestyle too. I just know the names, unlike in Greco. But it's always a big deal when a returning world champ loses and it apparently happens more often in Greco. Which honestly is more fun. Seeing Taylor and Yazdani run 86kg for some years made some boring brackets. Even if the refs aren't making the wrong calls, the ref is a much bigger factor in the match than in freestyle. Faking and clearing ties from distance is a requirement in freestyle because you're going for the legs. You have to get underneath the the head and hands. It's not gaming if everyone is doing it. Same thing happens in Greco but much closer. Guys are chest to chest just blocking with zero intent to score, but to just hold center and work for passivity. It just looks busier since they are attached. It's not 100% offense in either sport. But yes, it seems freestyle has more guys that separate themselves from the field. I say rules, you say depth. I am going to watch more Greco and we can revisit this.

That's a strong statement sayings it's wildly more competitive. Its hard to strongly argue against since there is a lot of variation in results. My perspective, the rules level the playing field artificially, making upset wins much easier to pull off with forced par terre and passivity. It feels like the format itself introduces randomness that makes it tough for consistency. How do you not want to point to the refs half the time your kids lose a close match? Neither sport has a comfort zone. Not sure I'd say freestyle can be "gamed" in comparison to Greco. Greco is highly technical but less dynamic. You often leave the match knowing who the better wrestler is and don't feel like the ref gave it to the other guy. It happens in freestyle, but more so about how the points were awarded versus shot clocks.

Double Elimination: 60 matches for 32 man bracket Single Elimination Repechage: 37 matches for 32 man bracket(had to ask AI on this one) Allowing two per nation and double elimination would turn into a 3 day tournament. Worlds between 3 styles is already a week long. I don't think it will ever happen. NCAAs only does two matches per day on 8 mats. UWW is not going to do a giant and empty arena. I would guess these are the factors preventing at least double elimination.

Can't speak too much on Greco, but from minimal watching, I have sensed that the variation in medalists in Greco seema high. I notice returning gold medalists losing at worlds and it feels like I don't consistently see returning gold medalists repeat. Versus freestyle, it feels more consistent. What do you think? This is coming from someone who literally only watches semis and medal matchs at Worlds for Greco.

This was approved as a new revenue stream specifically to help schools fund/offset the cost of the revenue share. It is my understanding that it is institutional money, so it goes straight to the athletic department. It is fair to think of it as going mostly to football because most of the rev share is already going to football.

It is easier to Google it than search the site. Most sites don't have this much of a problem with search. Hsut for fun, go search recruiting class rankings. You will get like 8 results and the newest one that shows up is 2021. And it's super hard to find what you want if trying to watch replays on your TV. I just get my phone out, find the video and play it for a second, then reload Flo on my TV, and go to my recently viewed section to get the videos I want. Searching within an event works well. Or searching for matches in the app is pretty good. Its usually chronological if you search a wrestlers full name.

I don't think this is a final decision because NCAA can appeal. But who knows. Curious to see who would forego that extra year.

Who else is buying media rights for wrestling events, putting events at all levels on their platform, writing weekly articles, weekly videos, building bracketing software with video tied in, ranking every level of the sport? I agree. The duration of the delay seems excessive for a infection. But the Procedures do not and probably would not be able to address the severity of the injury when they state the time period allowed for the delay. I don't know the specific date but, per the procedures - "Wrestle-offs must occur before the departure for the 2026 World Team Acclimation Camp"(2026 World Team Trials Qualification & Procedures Men’s Freestyle). Not sure when the Acclimation Camp is, but given Worlds is in late October/early November, Woods still has plenty of time. It has been six weeks since Final X.

I followed the story but didn't know he hit a minor, but most kids in high school are under 18. To him, it's just another kid in with middle of the chaos. From what I gathered from afar, he ran into the ruckus that his dad was in like most people would. I don't see an issue. I never heard about him badly hurting someone. Are you coming at this from the perspective of past issues with Knox, or are you looking at this lone situation for what it is? I'm not from NJ, so I don't really understand why he has the bad boy persona.
