Did some rearrangement and some trimming down, set up shop on back porch (lanai in Florida talk). Roll down shutters I spoke of will come down Just behind these units, on each side of the vertical blocks. There’s a couch and patio table in this area you can’t see in the picture, and with the shutters down it just gives us more “indoor” space. Compared to Ian, I’m better on supplies and a 1 year old roof compared to an 18 year old roof. One big piece missing but nothing I can do about that. Speakers will be charged and we’ll be ready for da riddems. As I’ve led to before, I work in this community and if it does land anywhere in the current cone, particularly anywhere Tampa or south, the south end of our community and up the river, plus our barrier islands, are going to take a serious hit. Hoping it’s just one of those that gets much weaker on approach than expected, although the opposite is what has been happening in recent history. Can’t hope it tips north of current tracks because those folks have taken a beating the last couple years. Buckle up friends it’s going to be a ride .

Latest updates are tightening up the tracks on us. Right now calling for an upper level cat 3, some models higher. I got 2+ cans of propane, 3 bags of charcoal, water, gas shitload of canned foods and moving the bbq pit into the garage, set up and ready for post storm. Looks like no matter what it’s going to be a ride this week. I’ll be good here. I’m about 12 feet above the water, my house locks up real tight and I got a brand new roof from Ian. Gitty up.

FEMA is going to be spending money on Americans, and American cities for at least the next five years. I wish people would put as much effort into understanding these things as they do pushing their warm fuzzie political angles. Imagine how much greater America could be if we took that mentality (although I get it, it requires effort and self reflection)

It is a matter of process, they come in the first few days to help with the immediate needs, then they let the state and local do their thing, then they come back in to assist with assessments and reimbursements. It is all part of the process of these things (including the $750 everyone is sensationalizing for political purposes. I got $750 quickly when my house was badly damaged in Ian 2022, I got $750 with Irma when I lost almost everything in 2017. the 750 is not Kamala, just like this timing and process in not Johnson and congress. There are processes, and compartmentalization, to these things.

I would imagine their expectation is not at all a total ban, but you start there at the negotiating table and work back to what you're comfortable with. Well, the context of our conversation, which you referenced in your initial post here, was politicians lying. I asked you to direct me to where people claimed Trump said it, I didn’t say no one said it, I said I hadn’t seen that and asked you to direct me to where you read people claiming that was Trumps statement, you chose not to. In fact you’re still choosing not to. Ross came in with people on Twitter projecting.
