  1. I did as well, wasn't really paying close attention and figured it was worth the $10. The trick is to select "more purchase options" and the $4.99 SD option is available.
  2. They have a pretty good 2024 recruiting class as well. 13 Jack Consiglio Malvern Prep 15 Aden Valencia Ann Sobrato 38 Cole Han-Lindemyer Farmington 41 Grigor Cholakyan St. John Bosco 54 Collin Guffey Granite Hills 55 Ethan Parco Los Gatos 125 - Provo 133 - Knox 141 - Valencia 149 - Consiglio 157 - Cardenas 165 - Garvin 174 - Norman Is a pretty solid 125-174. Plus their 197 Stemmet currently #16. Han-Linemyer could maybe fill in 184, unless there is someone better on roster. And not sure who at hwt.
  3. As did Minnesota during the J-rob fiasco.
  4. 3 stall calls on Voinovich (2 in neutral 1st period, 1 on top 2nd period) giving Ferrari 2 points, and 1 escape point for Voinovich.
  5. Shane was awesome for Wisconsin HS wrestling. He had a website that was free to watch for everyone, Badgerstatewrestling.com. He and a crew of volunteer cameramen would travel to the biggest HS duals and tournaments around the state and upload everything to his website. Whichever location he was at, he would do commentary as well. A lot of times he would be doing solo commentary, but never lacked in enthusiasm or passion. It was a sad day when the site shut down. I think there's still a handful of Badgerstatewrestling videos archived on Youtube. Naturally it fell to the wayside, as the exposure got him recognition from the B1G network and eventually he moved over full time. Great and well deserved for him, and a lot of work put in to get there that the WI wrestling community saw. https://www.youtube.com/@badgerstatewrestling/videos
  6. Started wrestling as a FR in HS. Had many injuries derailing my SO/JR years, but managed to place at state my SR year (D1 Wisconsin). I wrestled D3 for 1 season. Being made of glass and struggling to balance schoolwork + social life with athletics caused me to lose my fire for competition.
  7. ACC voted to add Stanford, Cal, and SMU to join the conference in all sports. Starting 24-25 School year. https://theathletic.com/4825140/2023/09/01/acc-adding-stanford-cal-smu-conference-realignment/
  8. So it's confirmed that anyone who redshirted during the free year gets an additional redshirt?
  9. Cadet World Bronze There are six ways to qualify for an Olympic Redshirt Year • Only required to meet one criteria: 1) Past National Team members • Top 3 from the Senior World Team Trials or Olympic Team Trials 2) Top 8 at the April 2023 Senior US Open 3) Top 8 at the December 2023 Senior US Nationals 4) Top 3 at the 2023 NCAA I Wrestling Championship 5) NCAA I Champion from a previous year AND top 2 from the 2023 U23 Nationals (must accomplish both) 6) Previous U17, U20, U23 World Medalist (UWW)
  10. So anybody who "redshirted" during the 2021 Covid Free year still has an additional redshirt to use? I'm trying to understand the Assad scenario. He didn't wrestle a match in 2020-2021 (due to injury - but would still be considered a RS year in any other "normal year"), I thought that would count as his redshirt year.
  11. Master Yoda was only 2'2". Argument invalidated.
  12. A valid point, but I disagree. His insane work ethic would have him prepared if his goal truly is to get back on the mat and win titles. It's not liked he ever stopped training at a high level.
  13. Ferrari can still make 197. Though yes, eligibility/legal issues are a large hurdle to clear to get back on the mat. While I agree Brooks is the favorite, Ferrari definitely has a chance to beat AB in my mind. He might not be as technical as Brooks, but Brooks hasn't wrestled one guy in college that has Ferrari's pure athleticism and strength. In 1.5 seasons, he gave up just 2 TD's, both as a true freshman (one in the last 15 seconds of a 13-8 win over Buchanan at Big 12's, and one in a 3-2 loss to Noah Adams at the Cowboy Challenge tourney in Feb. He'd be right in that match.
  14. In honor of Fathers Day... Navy Seal and Author Jack Carr Iowa Wrestler Abe Assad's Dad - Rick Assad.
