  1. Also I would pay a lot of money to see Nickal beat Taylor and do that awkward sportsmanship thing at the end of the match where he gently picks Taylor up like a toddler.
  2. I have a lot of respect for what Nickal has accomplished, but still hate his weird "rugged funk" wrestling style. It's like he wants to be as funky as Askren but can't so he makes up for it by horsing people around with heavy collar ties and snaps. But hey it works, so give me Nickal in 4.
  3. Ol' Tommy apparently didn't like the idea of a Spencer Lee documentary. It would have been nicely timed to release it just before Lee gets his 4th NCAA title though.
  4. The footage will be from the 2021-22 season. It was originally supposed to be a documentary about Spencer Lee but when the BTN and coaches got involved they all decided to make it about the entire team and how they manage the ups and downs of the sport in addition to other demands and distractions outside wrestling. I heard that the production team's timeline got cut from 14 months to closer to 14 weeks so this could be released during Big Ten championship weekend, so it could feel slapped together at the last minute, I don't know. 53 minutes.
  5. I believe Moriah makes an appearance.
  6. A behind-the-scenes look into the blood, sweat and tears of the Iowa wrestling program throughout the 2021-2022 season. Premieres on March 4 at 9PM Central on BTN. Who else is excited for this?
  7. What terrible timing. Heinselman was always a small for a college 125 but he put in a lot of hard work and has come a long way since his Freshman year. I would have been pulling for him in the post-season. Medley, too.
  8. Yeah mine too. Wishful thinking on my part that Fox would have all the broadcasts.
  9. Will the Fox Sports app have all sessions and replys or just what's on BTN?
  10. With the Big Ten preseeds are out, Kale changes his strategy from Duals Don't Matter (DDM) to Tournaments Don't Matter (TDM). The other coaches follow suit and everyone ducks their starters until the 2024 season. John Smith also yells at a cloud.
  11. Parris
  12. Didn't the Pac12 use to schedule their conference tournament a week before the others? Probably a good way to capture our attention during the dead period, plus it gives the guys an extra week off before Nationals (or hit the buffet a week early).
  13. I will admit the broadcasting style is growing on me. Complete silence then someone shouting "FOUR POINT NEARFALLLLL!" then more silence then chainsaw sound
  14. A lot of valid points there, especially the music. What does the w in wOSU stand for?
  15. It's great that the Pac12 is broadcasting this for free but I wish they could bring us a little closer to the action. Feels like we're watching a feed from a security cam up on the ceiling.
  16. Did I hear correctly that Cunningham's kids are going to PSU next year? Will they be in the lineup? I don't know anything about them.
  17. Nelson Brands shoots from space and takes everyone down. He wins 174 and does a victory celebration that becomes a viral dance sensation on TikTok.
  18. I would pay good money to see this.
  19. IMO Spencer is up there on the GOAT list but I will admit that simple biology demographics tells us that it's probably harder to be a GOAT in the 149-174 range. Law of averages suggests that there are more average sized people than tiny or giant people. With more participation in the middle of the bell curve you are more likely to have more elite wrestlers in the middle weights. And biologically most people don't stop growing until their early 20s. A lot of 125ers grow out of the weight by the time they are seniors and arguably, stronger and more skilled wrestlers. So that's something to consider when talking GOATS.
  20. Nice... I wanna see it happen at 133. "And RBY has just won his third NCAA title as he makes his way to the podi- wait... what the... what's this?... that song... Wild Thing... that... OH MY GOODNESS, THAT'S AUSTIN DESANTO'S WALK OUT MUSIC!"
  21. Now that's too crazy even for this thread
  22. Speaking of! For anyone wondering how Steen could possibly have gotten past Lee to win 125, it turns out that Spencer's knees and gas tank were also just an act. He bumps up to 133 as an unseeded entry and wins Big Tens and Nationals. Fix changes his Insta handle to _second_greatest_ever_ and Spencer becomes the next NCAA president. Book it!
  23. We see Pat Glory take the mat Saturday night walking around at ~170. During a long break in the action (to review a replay, no doubt), he whips out a bottle of ranch dressing from under his singlet and starts eating buffalo wings in his corner. The following year, the rules committee rejects a push-out rule in favor of a no finger foods rule.
  24. Wrong answers only Gary Steen was faking it all along and steamrolls his way through the brackets to win a title.
