Hello Hammer! How are you? I avoided the boards last night and wondered how people would see that one. I don’t remember really seeing anything like it in the past, or know how it relates to the definition and enforcement of the stalling rule. It very much seemed to me, and possibly it wasn’t MC’s intention, that he was purposely seeking stalemate to avoid being cut and taken down again. If that’s true, I think it’s a more egregious form of stalling than doing absolutely nothing. You see it differently?

Kind of a bystander, but does Arnold not really having done…anything, in college, carry any weight of ridiculousness here? Didn’t he also say something last year while he was redshirting? CS says some stupid ####, but he’s also a 4X National Champion.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make it that far, and hoping between Blaze and Nagao something changes if things don’t get figured out. So neither would it surprise me if this is his last year in the PSU lineup, harsh as it sounds. I hope it works out for him.

Aside from some minor statistical details, I see it very similarly. The only one I’m still not sure on is Barr. He might be with that trio in the top tier, jury is still out imo. SVN beat Henson two years ago, at NCAA’s right? That’ll be an interesting one to follow. I still think he’s as likely to win that weight as any individual is. But Friday was a little alarming. Hoping now it was some sickness that affected him. I don’t think Davis will AA and really hoping Nagao is back next year in 22-23 form.

Will MM lose another college match? Anything’s possible, but I wonder if the only real chance is Shapiro should they happen to be in the same weight the next two years. How anticipated would that match be? Fun dual to watch

Only time will tell, but all time? Would you measure in total NC’s, or how? I think you could come up with nearly a half dozen linear combinations from PSU’s lineup alone that would end up being more credentialed than that one. I don’t know if any of these guys will ever win an NC, but I’d take Parco/Teemer/Caliendo over that too.

Any details on the Romney/Bailey match before the pin? Was it a move from neutral, or did he do it from TB position?

He was also the HC at Wasatch HS (same school as Cael) for a brief stint. I remember at one of his boys was just starting to walk before the family moved, wonder if it was Vance now.

I’d guess somewhere around mid-50’s right now if you somehow factored in bonus expectations and took the mean of the ranking services. I still feel good about it though and if I lose, hey…at least it’s not through the stock market again. Some unexpected, unforeseen event will probably come along with an injury or addition perhaps that will throw things out of whack, but that’s ok.

You got it Vak, I’ll take one more. Just wondering, if you would/can wkn, what would you set the line at just statistically speaking? I factored in a few other elements, your last post was one of them.

That would be for sure. Personally, I think Lilledahl’s more likely to not AA than make the finals at this point. I was referencing the early season rankings and even in recent weeks as worst case for Penn State where Davis and especially Barr and Lilledahl were outside the top 8 and even top 20 for Barr if I remember right. I mean at most points since the season started, those three were projected to score around 5 team points cumulatively through the rankings. They’ve been proving themselves and rankings are slowly changing, but I think most people have thought all along that was a minimum scoring line. Not sure who’s all involved where with the publications. I noticed Intermat has a 45 point team gap between PSU and Iowa now, which doesn’t factor in bonus points, and which still has Teemer at #1. It’s getting closer to what I believe the difference between the two teams really is, and has been all along.

I will take the first two comers. Should be interesting, perhaps come down to Saturday night! Merry Christmas

You don’t really believe that, do you? The current rankings are close to worst case for Penn State with Lilledahl and Davis working up, Barr will be higher in the next rendition too. You could add Figueroa and remove any PSU wrestler of your choice and Iowa still wouldn’t win. Let’s make a wager to reset the parameters a bit. I’ll give you 70 points(PSU -70), as I expect Penn State to be around 170 again and Iowa 100. $50 or another incentive if you have another suggestion. I pay my debts if it happens unlike Jimmy. No conditions like injuries or other circumstantial things.
