  1. Hope that doesn’t happen for multiple reasons. I’d rather see him wrestle Mendez in the SF’s than Hardy.
  2. 125 Ayala dec. Davis 3-0 133 Nagao md Schriever/Teske 3-4 141 Woods dec. Bartlett 6-4 149 Kasak dec. Voin/Rathjen 6-7 157 Haines dec. Franek 6-10 165 Mesenbrink dec. Caliendo 6-13 174 Starocci md Kennedy 6-17 184 Truax dec. Riggins/Arnold 6-20 197 Brooks md Glazier 6-24 285 Kerkvliet md Hill/Kueter 6-28
  3. No need to insult me because you can’t use simple helping verbs correctly. Can’t and won’t must be distinguished, I had no idea of your intent or meaning. Are you not willing to include Bartlett in a much smaller number under 33 that has a higher probability of winning a title than the field? You sure are with Purdue’s only hope in Ramos. I don’t know if and where fluctuating odds for individuals to win titles can be found, but I would think Bartlett at 141 is higher right now than 125.
  4. You don’t believe the undefeated and #1 ranked wrestler at whatever weight in February CAN win a national title? It’s unlikely he will, but can? He just beat Mendez and Woods looked horrific on the same night. He has as reasonable a chance as any other one guy. Versus the field, it’d be slim odds.
  5. Very low, that’s just probability with sports in general. Especially wrestling. There may be a backup(s), I’d still have Ayala and Woods as slight favorites. PSU seemed a little lethargic and off last night, but that happens almost ritually every year until the NCAA tournament with them. Peaking cycles I suppose
  6. To be associated with the wizardly wealth of statistical and wrestling knowledge that WKN possesses is one of my greatest achievements in life! Thought about putting Haines at the top, even though it pains me. Based on how he’s looked much of the year, I’m not sure he’ll even make the semis. It’ll get corrected
  7. In order: Crookham Haines Lovett Woods Keck O’Toole Kerk Brooks Starocci
  8. If Penn State still had Van Ness, I believe that would be the difference. But alas, it’s neither here nor there. All-timers like Brooks and Starocci help neutralize a lot of situations
  9. Stalrocci lol, nhs is a funny guy. I really think PSU has enough scoring wrestlers to win it all this year. Is this the real Jimmy C?
  10. Nobody cares about that. But Jimmy, do you think Starocci/Brooks/Kerk will outscore the next closest team at NCAA’s this year?
  11. Hey Jimmy, how are you my man? You were spot on, an absolute bullseye take of takes. Impressive. Can I get your opinion on potential Mesenbrink Carr/O’Toole matchups?
  12. Lewan and Amine playing incredible defense!
  13. I wasn’t sure that would translate so quickly to collegiate folkstyle, were you? The one I’m really interested to see is the Caliendo match, how he handles a strong, athletic, well-conditioned guy that’s been around a bit longer. I think that’ll be a great indicator for what to expect against Carr and KOT
  14. He will. Mesenbrink is going to be(if not already)elite. That’s an ultra talented dude with one of the best motors/mindsets I’ve ever seen. I don’t expect him to beat KOT or Carr this year, but he’ll win 2-3 NCAA championships
  15. Oh so one injury AND a number of hopeful hypotheticals? What else would they need? Keep going.
  16. Every year Jimmy. Every freaking year, you come across as not having learned from recent history. There’s struggle, there’s peaking, there’s regression; Penn State like every other team goes through this and absolutely masters performance in mid-March. I would be concerned if they DON’T look this way at different points through the season, that’s how peaking works!
  17. A 5’3” head coach? Wasn’t Napoleon like 5’6 at least? Physical stature matters. Burroughs
  18. The returning points are like 140 to 65. Jimmy’s sayin stupid sheet again. I expect Iowa to be within 50, though.
  19. Haven’t there been some “Hammer’s” wrestling in college over the years? Worst has to be Caleb Fish lol. He’s anything but, though.
  20. Time will tell, won’t it Jimmy. It will be close, if that is the lineup they take into the postseason next year. That team would threaten the all-time mark, not sure what other standard or comparison you’d use.
  21. For sure, and obviously he was going to be. To say Truax is not is where I take exception. He already has been in the past. The only one at 184 he was very unlikely to beat is now his teammate and he’s already beaten the other guy who would be the co-favorite, imo.
  22. You don’t think Truax is an immediate title contender? That’s weird. Truax had a far more successful series of NCAA finishes prior to transfer than Woods(best finish was sixth) prior to his move to Iowa. Interesting comparison and conclusion.
  23. Absolutely, lol at the golden brick. That needs to happen. Well done sir
  24. Have to think there will be a transfer for at least one of those weights.
  25. It's weird to say, but it wouldn't surprise me based on the recent history of PSU adjustments. But I still can't see it based on what happened Sunday. All great points and I agree with you all you both said. Or at least it sure seemed that way four days ago. Another landmine I see for PSU is the Haines/Andonian potential quarterfinal. I think I do slightly overrate Andonian, though.
