  1. people have been openly speculating it because they are jealous of the school's success on a very loose basis of Ryder and Duke having wrestled on the same team in the past and come from New York.
  2. I bet Cardenas and Garvin will graduate Stanford first and then go to Michigan like Griffith did. So they would be joining in 2027. is that enough time for one of the mantanonas to bulk to 184 lol Botero Sement Lemley Catrabone Cardenas Garvin Brock Man Beau Man Walters Transfer Portal or some new recruit
  3. I use this sort of argument to claim that the NBA and NFL drafts should not exist if there is also a salary cap. The salary cap is enough control IMO. The draft then creates situations where people end up in places they don't want to be.
  4. My feelings are that I'm happy they got paid, I'm happy wrestlers can get paid for what they do in college which is a brutal endeavor. Parity was not great before NIL, and has been worse after. I've reframed how I view the sport and ignore the team race stuff now which is no longer interesting. Overall though I am extremely happy that we found a way to get wrestlers paid. I wish the figures could be public so that young kids could see what the possibilities really were (for better or worse)
  5. I think that for a top level program to remain a top level program, there is only so much loyalty you can provide. I don't like the idea of someone fearing for their starting spot and transferring out instead of accepting the challenge (not what I'm saying has happened here - but what has happened in other situations)
  6. something tells me you know something you are not at liberty to disclose. you have me curious
  7. makes sense that Trumble would get some offers. I thought OK St and Penn State might even be interested
  8. Manibog is already in the portal. I would expect Carter Young and Brayden Thompson to enter next. If Carter goes, maybe Colin will go with him. A few other tough cuts to make. I doubt they are done making moves, but with their current roster, I think the 30 to make the cut would be the following:
  9. Would make it hard for Welsh to remain unless Levi takes his redshirt or leaves (not sure why he would). I don't see Welsh jumping up to 197
  10. Maybe Zach Ryder will follow in the footsteps of Vince Cornella, Stephen Little, and Dayton Pitzer by transferring to Rider.
  11. Sounds like Sealey may follow - haven't heard anything about Duke leaving
  12. or he got a bigger offer from OK St with the promise of a starting spot? This reminds me of when the Heat made an offer for Elton Brand which the Clippers matched so that they could ultimately make an offer for Odom which the Clippers could not match.
  13. @1032004 had shared that I believe so maybe he has the inside scoop. wrestlestat hasn't moved him and I haven't seen anything on social media.
  14. BAC lobbed it up - I was just here for the finishing touch
  15. always knew he'd be behind bars one way or another
  16. Last year I had to use a funny avatar because you predicted Clayton Whiting!
  17. Ethan Miller in the portal - I could see him fitting at Missouri at 149 or Iowa at 157
  18. I have so much respect of Mytych, but from Dean Peterson's perspective, no better place to wrestle as a light weight. I expect him to have a top five finish next year if it all goes through with him and Iowa
  19. Hopefully medicine has advanced since we were young, but I had the same shoulder issues he did - two failed surgeries - and the shoulder still bothers me to this day which is several decades later. Hope that he can find a way to heal just for the sake of living a comfortable life after wrestling
  20. For some reason I imagined him taking a starting spot on a MAC school after all of the years he's put in as a dedicated backup. But we all want slightly different things out of the sport, so no judgement from me. If Spratley had an injury, Steen would have to be next man up. Also Spratley might enjoy taking off a couple of duals to take a break from cutting weight. Steen seems like a no-nonsense guy and could be a good cultural addition for what Taylor is looking to mold.
  21. maybe others already mentioned it but Gary Steen to Oklahoma State which is a surprise for me.
  22. @wrestlingfan22 exactly like that haha! is Lledo really going to Edinboro? Good fit for him
  23. would be funny if you guys were breaking transfer news hidden somewhere in those paragraphs for people to find like a where's waldo
  24. I could see Vince Santaniello going to ASU after fellow Brick alum David Szuba did the same. I believe the NIL director for ASU is from Brick
