North locks up a cement job position, but can't finish it. Casto escapes, but North goes back in for a quick takedown and a period ride out. Apparently, someone told him what I posted above!
Brock McMillen has been replaced in the starting lineup for now by Tyler Badgett who comes out shooting on redshirt freshman, and brother of 141 pounder - Ethen Miller. These brothers are from Kansas City.
Matthews, who didn't generate really any offense of his own, gets an easy reattack takedown after a sloppy attempt by Miller. Nonetheless an impressive match by the true freshman. This was not comfortable for Matthews.
6-6 going into 149 where I think Maryland has the advantage
2-1 Matthews after he escapes to start the third. With 1:25 of riding time, Miller has started to pick up his activity as he needs a takedown just to hit overtime.
Matthews starts the second on top, throws in boots and glues Miller to the mat. Miller is called for stalling shortly thereafter and didn't seem like he had a good chance of moving up to his base here until the refs stopped for some reason.
Scoreless first period between Matthews and Miller. Matthews looks noticeably stronger, but Miller with some quick and savvy defense to avoid a takedown on two occasions.
Only 3-0 Phillippi leading Jackson Cockrell after two periods. I thought this would be bonus points for Phillippi, but he has a lot of work to do in the third.
I'm not in favor of banning someone for being a dope unless their ignorance becomes more of a net obstacle than source of entertainment. In Dan's case, he is certainly unreasonable, but I didn't feel like he was overly antagonistic.
I don't intentionally drink light beer under any circumstance. And while I do appreciate good beer quality, I am more of a utilitarian than snob and rotate my house beer between Coors banquet beer and Bud heavy.
