Did Penn St. miscalculate on transfers?
scourge165 replied to BuckyBadger's topic in College Wrestling
So...Rocco didn't approach them? PSU approached him before the season was over and they gave him more than Ryder? You think Welsh is lying to make his new program look good? I do think this is a bad move on their part as I think it makes them marginally better, but the only '74/'84 I'd try and bring in this year would be the kid from Minnesota. -
Iowa hits its 60% transfer starter quota again
scourge165 replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Ooof...that sucks for him. Good for Wrestling fans...but not for Kueter. I hope he can come all the way back, but...that's gonna hurt his chances at playing Football at the next level. Though, he reminds me of that NC State kid Peyton Wilson who was drafted by the Steelers last year. He was older and had an injury history when he came out. -
This...this one made me spit out my water...

Gable lost intentionally for the good of the sport
scourge165 replied to skandar's topic in College Wrestling
I have literally not once seen this type of scenario before. I didn't think this thread was a gut buster...so I agree with you there, but...this is the biggest upset I've ever seen. -
LOL...yeah, shockingly you're so far behind, you think you're leading the pack. China is rushing to buy the old, outdated GPUs that NVDA had to specially make for them to pass the export limitations. https://www.reuters.com/technology/chinese-firms-place-16-billion-order-new-nvidia-chips-information-reports-2025-04-02/ Nvidia can't give the H100 away(or the H200) because they're so outdated and they're not shipping the B100 and with the B200/B300 NV-72 in the 2nd half of the fiscal year. So no, there's NO scenario in which China, which RELIES on OLD American Tech is "on the verge of taking the lead." Please, by all means, do explain? He made it substantively more expensive and made it so far fewer companies could afford the GPUs. But lets hear it, how did Trump "take the handcuffs off," of a subject...you didn't have a clue about 6 posts ago?

His problem seems like he's a Greco guy who is wrestling Greco and I've seldom seen Greco guys improve...BUT, I didn't know a lot about him before he came to Wisconsin. I've only seen older videos. But he rarely shoots now. And when he does, if he doesn't finish...he's not gonna shoot again for a while. He'll hit a real slick shot and...he'll look great, but...sure, maybe it's a weight thing. I just see a shorter Feldman, but I hope you're right and I'm wrong and he'll come back better next year.

Last I heard Amos was still planning on going '97 as he's...not very long, especially for HWT. And I hope there's zero chance they get that desperate. The dude is a clown.

Done all what? Screw it, just look up Nvidia. That's how we're dominating AI. I'll dumb this down for you as much as humanly possible(and it still won't be enough).
-
The fact that I answered at almost exactly the same time, but namely that you even think one COULD provide a comprehensive answer in that time period is why you are the PERFECT Trump voter. Again, NOT knowing this is amazing. Do you just take your monty and pick a ticker symbol out of a hate and decide that's how you'll invest or...do you watch the News? Have you really not heard of Nvidia or OpenAI or FSD, Boston Robotics, Amazon and their driverless fleet that's already being used. ALL of this has to be explained and you're upset that... you didn't get an answer the second you demanded one? This has to be someone's daughter who is using her Father's account, right? https://www.foreignaffairs.com/united-states/america-winning-race-global-ai-primacy-now

Yeah, this is not how I'd ever ask another man a question; I don't know dude...I genuinely understand your ignorance on the economy now when you're "asking a question" about how the United States is dominant in AI. I also can't even begin to guess the ignorance you have as it pertains to artificial intelligence where this is a whole new concept to you and you need 10 question marks and an OMG and you genuinely have no idea how the US is leading in both AI and GPUs? You haven't heard of Nvidia, Broadcom(AVGO), AMD, OpenAI, FSD, Automation... Go use ChatGTP to ask how Artificial Intelligence is relevant and how the US(namely NVDA) has been dominant in the innovation. This did make it abundantly clear the reason you mock the harm these arbitrary tariffs can do is...you are just too ignorant to grasp it.

LOL...sure. Because OBVIOUSLY Australia was going to set up the infrastructure to build a whole port there where they move things from one place to another. You...you read that and thought, 'yeah, that makes sense.'

I'm not really worried about my Roth as it's not what I plan on being my primary retirement. I can't touch that until I'm almost 60 but that's down...just shy of 6 figures. It's my own brokerage fund that's gone to hell. The Russell is down over 20%, the SPX is down ~900 points... But AGAIN, as I said, I went to mostly cash in Late January or I'd be down a LOT more in my own accounts. I STILL don't think it's a great thing to watch the Economy get hammered or to see the market crash 20% from VERY recent All-Time Highs exclusively because of Trump's nonsensical tariffs.

Did Penn St. miscalculate on transfers?
scourge165 replied to BuckyBadger's topic in College Wrestling
Yeah. I watched the interviews about Jordan. It's kinda nonsense. He created whatever motivation he needed at any given time...usually contrived. They talked about Clyde Drexler being great. "And I took that personally." That was the joke. He took everything personally. Which is also kinda the point. He claims he was "cut from the Basketball team." Not really. He was cut from varsity as a Freshmen on a powerhouse team. At least some. Others, like Cael(or Montana) they just embrace the big moment. And some put too much pressure on themselves and they can't perform in the big moment. But I do really doubt a guy was headed toward being a 2X AA and he became a 3X National Champ because PSU brought in a NCAA Finalist as a Freshmen. -
Ok...I'm only seeing like 1 in 15 of your posts but can you help me out with a couple things? 1-Why do you just repeat what I said, add a whole bunch of additional punctuation and then say "Omg," like a teenage girl? 2-Yes, dominate AI. What part of that is the least bit confusing for you? Is it your inability to grasp the impact AGI is going to have or how valuable automation and FSD could be? Trillion dollar markets? Or is it that you somehow think we're not dominating AI? You really communicate like Becky 'who like...just can't even!!!! OMG, like, ya know!'

I wonder if Bessent is just embarrassed? Trump relies on the ignorance of his base. He's literally said it. His base sure as hell doesn't understand tariffs. He said the other countries pay them. They believed him. "We're gonna Charge China 50%, 75%, 100% maybe even 200%," and the clowns clap like seals. And people just don't get how bad this could end up. You have the inbred moron I don't even bother reading anymore Jimmy who thinks because it didn't cause a great depression within 24 hours, we're out of the woods. So yeah, I get how stupid these tariffs are. Everyone has understood it for the last 70 years as the United States has grown and become the most prosperous country in the world. Hey, remember when you had FREE MARKET Capitalists? and they called everyone who wasn't a Republican a socialist and a communist(because...they they don't actually understand the difference).
-
I mean, it's MUCH easier to transfer than to just get in, but...I hope this isn't true. Also, at what weight? Would they give up on Amos? What has happened with Amos? Whatever...just no. Keep this guy out of Red.

Did Penn St. miscalculate on transfers?

You really think these guys need extra motivation at this level? Who did Brands start over that he shouln't have? Arnold last year? I'm not disputing, I don't know. And I would be surprised if that happened with either Cunningham. I wouldn't be shocked if the two Cunningham's won the job if they were 51/49. Like...say Haines and O'Toole, they start Haines. -
That'd be a best case scenario at this point. They try and push the market down, try and get the interest rates down another 50 basis points and this turns out to be a much larger version of 2018. Doesn't seem likely. I don't know how they "negotiate" deals when A-They said they weren't going to and B-They just made up what other Countries charge us. They did nothing more than calculate the trade deficit, then say they would need tariffs at this rate in order to not have a trade deficit. Of course...it's hard to be the largest GDP in the world and not have trade deficits.

POLL: Why did PSU recruit a xfer they didn't need?
scourge165 replied to okokzach's topic in College Wrestling
Bubba's is still better. They said they didn't want Bubba. The didn't tell Ryder that. They said they wanted him, BUT...if Ryder becomes a multiple time champ, I think this is as close as you can get. I think this will be one people will say "Penn State lost." I don't see Welsh replicating his success in a stacked 184 next year, but who knows. -
No. I don't. Neither does the Treasury Sec who when asked if China now has a 54% tariff, he said, "I think." When asked how they came up with the tariff rates he replied with he sad, "I don't know." When asked "what about Mexico and Canada," he said, "I don't know." Doesn't that instill confidence! 3 of our largest trading partners. We just made up a number they "charge" us on tariffs. It wasn't based on reality, but...when is it ever. Then when asked exactly what the tariffs would be, he doesn't know. So what exactly are you asking if I get now? Why we would throw the global economy...which we are at the Center of and just arbitrarily play games with it? It's ALMOST as incompetent as keeping a reporter on a call for a military operation, but....this is worse.
-
I guess you just keep repeating this for the people too stupid to get it the first time? Biden...adds 15B of tariffs and primarily on China in a few key sectors. Trump puts Tariffs on an uninhabited Island..(well, that's not true, Penguins do live there) as well as the REST OF THE WORLD... And slack jawed morons are unable to differentiate between the two. Japan, Canada, Mexico, the European Union...everyone.

The 1994 Intermat Forum Hodge Trophy Goes To...
scourge165 replied to Wrestleknownothing's topic in College Wrestling
Nope. This part is not compelling; I remember making this argument about the 184 pound weight this year. McEnelly(3,?,?,?), Keck(3,3,2,1,2), Starocci(5X). Iowa didn't Wrestle Ferrari because they knew it wouldn't be competitive, Sinclair took a RS, Welsh also took one(though apparently not for the same reason)...but I think when we look back, Starocci will have a similarly competitive bracket. HWT likely won't(unless Kueter wrestles the next 3 years then...it could) have the number of champs, but...Gable, an Olympian, Kerk a NC/Runner Up and Wyatt? We all know the articles written in the future, ESPECIALLY if this...motivates Stevenson to really push it and try and go for Gold in '28, they'll be about that upset. Still probably the most improbable thing I've seen live. -
Did Penn St. miscalculate on transfers?
scourge165 replied to BuckyBadger's topic in College Wrestling
Pretty unlikely. I don't believe any team in the country is turning down Welsh. I don't think Iowa is doing it, I don't think Missouri is doing it. I think is ONE should have, it should have been PSU, but then you factor in he's from Penn, just outside Pitt and he was apparently close to Duke, their prized recruit(though...that has really lost all meaning when they're ALL prized recruits).
