  1. I don’t think he’s capable of getting to that tier yet. Lucky for him, 184 is one of those rare weights where the top 5-8 doesn’t have near as many Big-Ten wrestlers. If he’s able to take advantage of that and place high (I think he could place as high as 2nd) in the Big Tens, he could earn himself a favorable seed at NCAA’s. I want to see him wrestle Abe Assad, Finesilver, Romero, and Pinto again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Brian Soldano is the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Serrano posted he was committing there on December 29th - Instagram. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Just want to say I think it’s great for the sport that we have more than one ranking service that is widely recognized, especially so that they have different methods of deciding on their rankings. It allows people to make their own interpretations while also having multiple reference points. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Minnesota has certainly unperformed, but I think part of the drop was them being ranked too highly in the first place. Brayton Lee being ranked as high as 1st while coming off a near-total reconstruction of his elbow, and Bergeland being ranked as high as 3rd after riding an incredible run at NCAA’s last year really inflated their team ranking. Ultimately, I don’t think they’ll finish as low as 19th, but if they outperform that it’ll be because some of their lesser known guys (Aaron Nagao, Isaiah Salazar in particular) make a bigger impact than expected in March. Also need Pat McKee to do Pat McKee things in a tournament setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I am glad I did not have to ref that match. A lot of exchanges that were very close. Fortunately for fans, I imagine we’ll get to watch these two wrestle many more times in their college careers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Nagao vs Foley has been crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. After last night, the top spot at 141 is a fight between Hardy, Woods, and Alirez imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. 184 incredible match. They will wrestle each other quite a bit me thinks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It’s pretty incredible the difference you get in McKee in a dual vs in a tournament. Either that weight cut is absolutely huge or he’s just not great at managing it at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Came down on his head pretty hard. Wouldn’t be surprised if he stays out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Gophers Twitter account says McKee is starting it off and he’s the only 125 listed in the probables Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Lewis also typically wrestles matches that (might) have one takedown. This one had three, one that tied it, and I think O’Reilly was in deep on at least one more shot in the first. Mekhi wrestles an entirely different style. Regardless, though, it won’t be close this year. O’Reilly doesn’t look like the same wrestler. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Oh, I guess I consider it being tied until :03 left being close haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. First match in the video Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You’re right, I shouldn’t say “always”. But it did last year at the dual, and then the next time they wrestled O’Reilly tore his ACL in the middle of what was a close match. They had a lot of fun exchanges last year. The match in 2018 and 2020 were not close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. This is going to come off as a super hot take that I’m hoping bares fruit, but Isaiah Salazar (184) is Minnesota best wrestler currently and I could see him placing as high as 2nd in big tens. We’ll see how dual season shakes out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. If McKee makes weight he’ll go. Could see this being an even 5-5 split. MN takes 125, 133, 149, 184, HWT NEB takes 141, 157, 165, 174, 197 Honestly, there isn’t a single match I feel 100% on. McKee has been known to lay eggs in duals, Nagao is unproven and Dryden has a weird style. Hardy favored but Bergeland former AA could upset. Blockhus always keeps matches too close. Lee beat Robb last year 4-0 but looked horrible lately. Sparks/Bubba is a wildcard. O’Reilly/Labs has always come down to the last seconds. NEB 184/197 super talented but young. 19. NU will forfeit 125 I think Really disappointing match from Sparks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Serrano went to the same high school as Gopher wrestlers Isaiah Salazar and Vance Vombaur. Not sure if that means anything but at least some familiarity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. In the 5 years when the Big Ten has added USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Notre Dame, and Stanford… I hope they all have wrestling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Tables, ladders and chairs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It’s him and three gophers in the semis. He’ll have a tough next two matches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. MN winning all the toss ups. McKee looking good too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Gophers put Bergeland as their promo picture for the dual, and Eggum said “Bergeland will make his season debut this weekend” 2 days ago. Why wouldn’t Blockhus wrestle? 165, Carlson hasn’t wrestled all year. It’ll be Sparks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
