He was able to finish takedowns on Nagao unlike anyone other than RBY to this point. I was super impressed by his gameplan in that match.

If Gable comes back after Xmas like rumored, this might be their best chance at a top five finish they’ll have.  

That is something I will agree with you on. IF he actually does come back, then all bets are off. Throw out your best regardless of seniority or redshirt status.

I mean you can argue semantics based on who’s rankings you want to use but out of that group I listed you’ve got 2 world gold medals, 4 world medals, double digit Fargo and super 32 AA’s and a ton of state titles so my point stands lol

They’ve got about 5 top 15ish recruits coming in over the next three classes with McEnelly, Nelson, Hopke, Millard and Robideau. They’re not a good team right now. They have a chance to be a lot better, especially if McEnelly saves his eligibility for when those guys are all on the team. Him pulling his shirt to maybe AA this year does not move the needle and would be a waste. Are you trying to create arguments by putting words in my mouth?

The plan from day 1 has been to redshirt and take over at 184 next year. No reason to pull his shirt and cut this year.

He’s only the back up because of the shirt.  I think they should pull it. 

They should absolutely not pull it. Salazar is still pretty good and they are not close to contending as a team this year. Let him develop as planned and get as many years with Nelson and Hopke as possible.

Next year Salazar and Joles move on, McEnelly and Nelson take over 184/197 for the next 4.

They only showed 1 mat on TV, I didn’t get to see any 3rd place matches. Also there wasn’t a finals match at 149, not sure what happened there. Do you know the score of Mcnelly and Harmon? They wrestled in the Semis. Harmon be Salazar for 3rd, do you know who won?

Nope. I turned it on just in time for the 174 pound finals. I’m completely in the dark because tracks not updating stupid brackets lol.

Hawks just lost to, I’m guessing is the Minny backup, pretty convincingly in the finals. No scoreboard on espn+ I think it was 15-4/16-4. 

That was Max McEnelly. Top 10 recruit class of 23, true freshman former cadet world medalist. I was surprised to see the results of both of those matches.
