    McCauley won 5 state titles at Valley. When Robbie Fisher of Bloomington Kennedy (same high school as the Ness brothers) upset him in the state finals, I think it was the loudest sporting event I have ever been to. Apple Valley was *despised* around that time.

    Wells is the 4xer that was going to go D2 and decided at the last minute to go to Minnesota, correct? If so, looks like he made the correct decision. 

    Yep. I’m very glad to have him. Some locals would say he’s the best high school wrestler in MN history which is saying something from a state that had Gable Steveson, Mark Hall, Destin McCauley etc.

    I think he only had one HS loss and almost 200 wins. Just stopped attending any tournaments outside of the regular HS season at an early age so fell off most national radars.

    I don’t know think he will outplace Crookham or Bouzakis, in fact I don’t even know if the gophers will pull his shirt this year, but true Freshman Tyler Wells at 133 will make some serious noise as soon as he is a starter. Toughest kid he wrestled at the Bison Open was Derrick Cardinal who he tech’d. I think he’s capable of making the blood round right now.

    Starocci had knee surgery didn’t he? Nobody’s a lock coming off surgery.  Hendrickson also jacked his leg up at worlds.
    Woods hasn’t even won one yet so…not sold.
    Gimme Brooks, then Vito, then O’Toole.
    I don’t care about Gable, and honestly would prefer he not come back.  He has spent his career trying to leverage his success for very selfish purposes.  I don’t love what he has done to teams he is on and to the culture of the sport overall.  

    Spending your career trying to leverage success for selfish purposes is college athletics today. It’s the way it is.

    What negative effects has he had on teams he is on?

    And Rogers - Walters - Jenkins

    I consider myself to be someone who follows the top level of high school wrestling/recruiting relatively close, but Walters and Jenkins do not ring any bells. Are they on the same tier as some of those other guys? Rylan Rogers I know.
