  1. Joel Vandervere was a high ranked recruit that hasn’t done much, I wonder what the story is there. Sam Cartella should be pretty good when he comes off redshirt. I think NU will always struggle to field a great dual team top to bottom but they can get back to having top individuals fairly quickly imo.

  2. I assume his redshirt was pulled because he won’t make 133 again? I hope he can hold it because MN will need to hit the portal for a 125 already unless they are going with Morvari.

I believe 133 is the long term plan for him, from what I hear he doesn’t have a terrible cut. I think his shirt was pulled because he’s that much better than Eisch or Gliva.

  3. How true. Since that 1st week of Dec, Moore has wrecked dudes, including pinning Latona and taking Arujau to the wire, while Wells has eked out a couple more wins, the last 2 in SV. No way he beats him a third time. Moore is my darkest horse AA pick for the tourney.

I think he could beat him a third time. Wells is my dark horse AA pick for the tourney too.

  4. Minnesota had 7 wrestlers transfer this off-season that are currently starting on their new team...
Spratley (OSU), Nagao (PSU), Jamison (OSU), Polanco (Pur), Lee (IND), Carlson (OU), Kluever (Hof).
Michigan had 5 All-Americans transfer in, and yet Minnesota still has a higher ranked dual team.

This is brutal. Need to reverse some of those transfer portal numbers with all the guys we’re going to graduate this offseason. Eggum will have money to throw around, gotta use it.

  5. Ive heard of Stoffel, but not Heiser. I need to do my homework. Yeah, I figured Wyatt would follow the rest of the arrowhead guys to Mizzou, but somehow he chose Minny. Good for him though. I just followed him closer with the arrowhead link Mizzou had.

Eggum (more so Brandvold) have almost been hitting Wisconsin harder on the recruiting trail than they have been Minnesota. They took in some of the lower ranked AWA kids years prior like Jager Eisch, seemingly to build a base and get an in with the club. Coincidentally, Eisch has gotten pretty good.

All eyes on Kellen Wolbert for 2026. That’ll be between Minnesota and Mizzou I think.

  6. Besides Sinclair, who is the other Mizzou commit? Sure wish it was Wyatt from arrow head but I think he’s a gopher.

Danny Heiser and Jake Stoffel. Heiser just beat Duchateau.

I’m excited to have Duchateau but don’t know where he’ll fit in the lineup with Robideau 149, Millard 157 and Contino 165. Good problems I suppose.

  7. On WIWrestles High School P4P rankings (Rokfin) of the top 15 kids 5 are committed to Minnesota, 3 to Missouri, 2 to Penn State, and the remaining 5 are uncommitted. Mostly because they’re sophomores.

Wisconsin has two in state commits, from #18 and #41.

  8. Should be some good matchups this week.
Pat Kennedy/Ruth, Ragusin/Bouzakis, Plott/Keckeisen, Jamison/Happel, Poulin/Volk and Mauller/Shapiro are a few of the ones I'm most looking forward to if everyone wrestles.

Minnesota @ Rutgers could offer some spicy matchups. McKee/Peterson, Wells/Shawver, Vombaur/Moore and Salazar/Soldano should be fun.

  9. did he peak too ealry
    i kid i kid

Blockhus will have the following opponents leading up to Big Tens per WrestleStat

    Andrew Clark - Rutgers
    Michael North - Maryland
    Trevor Chumbley - NW
    Joe Roberts - Illinois
    Joey Blaze - Purdue
    Luke Mechler - Wisconsin

Chumbley and Blaze stand out as the tough matchups there, assuming they happen. But I would’ve considered both winnable even before Blockhus’s recent run. At this point, he’s gotta be considered a favorite to be a top 2 seed at big tens. He’s not cutting hard, I like his chances to sustain this success through March.

  10. Also, no Blockhus in the top 33? Has the 8 matches to be qualified, and just beat Robb and Franek? Must have been done before the duals Friday.

Several gophers left off weirdly. Tyler Wells is 9-2 with wins over #12 and #13, and only losses to #12 and #14. I would think he’d be at least in the top 25 but I’m also biased.
