  1. First "Jap," then "Polak"? Really?
  2. Confirmed (Bill Farrell is one of the "methods" referenced):
  3. With the way he wears his religiosity on his sleeve, Penn State wouldn't surprise me. Princeton used to have a roster page for him, but no more. It'd be odd if they thought he was matriculating but then took a gap year.
  4. MAM is not listed on Princeton's roster, either. Hmmm.
  5. Vito was battling a physical issue that week, barely beating McGee who he had beaten handily at CKLF, and losing to Latona who he also beat handily at CKLF (both scores 6-1). Vito skipped the next three duals. The Latona & McGee matches were anomalies that are not likely to be repeated.
  6. He was silver last year, FWIW. He wrestles 197 for Cornell, or 89kg. Can't imagine how he is competitive at 97kg during the season or at OTT a month after NCAAs.
  7. The knee wrap was pulled down before the spray was "administered," I believe.
  8. No, they really don't. They likely used that as input for the coaches' decisions.
  9. Dom graduated from the College of Engineering at Cornell, so he had the chops to get into Stanford grad school. Provo was a Cornell commit, as well. At the time they all switched, none really had much of a chance to break into Cornell's lineup. In retrospect, Cardenas would have, but now would have to beat Shapiro for the 157 spot. (edit) Wrestlestat has Cornell winning a dual against Stanford 34-3, with only Abas beating Handlovic. Each and every one of them made a great choice to go to Stanford, with Koll's help. Stanford first, Koll, second. No comment about the women at Stanford or Cornell from me.
  10. Nit: no red shirts in the Ivy League. Either you are enrolled and using eligibility (or expecting a medical leave), or you are not enrolled.
  11. https://fb.watch/nNF2-RwbFV/ (learn how it is pronounced!) https://fb.watch/nNFFtxllLz/
  12. I was irked by all those who were certain that Koll leaving Cornell and then Stanford would result in mass exoduses of wrestlers at each school. But thanks for the warning.
  13. Who would have predicted this outcome? Oh, right...
  14. We should get info on November 12 (Journeyman).
  15. Hard to imagine Meyer Shapiro wrestling 157 in March and 163 (74kg) in April.
  16. Educate yourself: https://sha.cornell.edu/admissions-programs/undergraduate/ (note that the School of Hotel Management is one of three business schools in the SC Johnson College of Business)
  17. I'm guessing that the market has spoken, and there is a demand for the graduates of the Hotel school.
  18. Hotel school students aren't studying to become servers and cleaning staff. They are studying to be management. They run the Statler Hotel on campus, and at least they used to run the many dining halls as well. When I was there, the food at the dining halls was outstanding.
  19. A girl I dated at Cornell was in the Ag school and was taking 22-23 credits at a time in order to transfer to the Engineering school (chem E, IIRC). That was like 2-3 courses per semester in Engineering.
  20. Ugh, I knew that ILR is ILR, and Hotel is Hotel. Stupid error. Yeah, I know a bunch of Cornell commits switched to Stanford. I don't see them switching from Stanford to UNC.
  21. So, there's a school that uses a pre-season wrestle-off, to do what, exactly? Can you give an example of a school's procedure? I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around a process that takes the choice of starter away from the coaching staff.
  22. So, not really a wrestle-off, is it?
  23. Curious about what a "wrestle-off" means. What does the winner get? A starting spot? For how long? How does the starting spot ever change, barring injury or other unforeseen event? Does the team that has a wrestle-off hold challenge matches before each match?
  24. Misleading: Yianni, Vito, and Teemer agreed to go different weights so each could win a state title.
