  1. Embarrassing triple post! 80s posting methods!
  2. I mean, a lot of these fans cry "duck" if Spencer doesn't wrestle Glory, or if a clearly injured Cassioppi or Eierman don't wrestle their last match at Big 10s. If it isn't "duck," it is "injury mismanagement" or "1980s training techniques." (As if PSU and NLWC wrestlers have not suffered and/or quite a few significant injuries) I'm just sick of the level of dishonesty.
  3. Wrestle your schedule, unless you have a significant illness or injury. Was the Princeton backup in the same realm of ability and ranking as Tony Cassioppi? Wrestle the schedule. Respect the sport and the fans.
  4. Ah... the title of the thread!
  5. I agree, to a large extent. Have you ever seen the talk when an Iowa guy misses a match? I do think if a stud is there and relatively healthy, he should wrestle. Build the sport. Is anyone here actually against building the sport? Too bad the old board isn't accessible.
  6. This is not the way to build wrestling. If he is healthy, he should wrestle. If he had another color singlet on, the PSU fans would be saying "duck." This is a fact. PSU wrestlers have been doing quite a bit of ducking this year tbh. Is Cael using 1980s training techniques that are resulting in injury to these guys, or are they afraid to risk a monumental upset? That is 100% what a duck is. Crazy stuff happens. I remember a U23 champ getting pinned by a backup in a match that a team didn't need him for. So basically: Brooks, RBY, Starocci, Dean so not need to wrestle the rest of the year because they have already proven themselves to be champs? Absurd. Put it on the line. If there is a match, wrestle it.
  7. But seriously... Brooks is the starter. He needs to wrestle. That usually gets called a duck around here. That is generally the standard.
  8. Ask the Ironman refs!
  9. Brooks needs to toe the line
  10. How can you honestly say that? I'm not sure if you knew this, but DT wrestles for the NLWC and wrestled for PSU in college. He can probably tech just about anyone, maybe even Ditka.
  11. Interesting. I'm guessing that a 125 start was not Princeton's choice.
  12. Which weight class was wrestled first in the Rutgers/Princeton dual?
  13. At least you were talking about two guys that were both actually on the team and are actively wrestling freestyle, not some "what if?' make believe caused by an obsession with a town in central PA.
  14. When was the last time Kerk wrestled freestyle? Why is every thread turned into PSU/NLWC?
  15. But DT didn't want to wrestle. Nor did most of the NLWC. They chose not to represent the US. No sense in bringing them up/
  16. Two for three ain't bad!
  17. What's Beth up to tonight?
  18. And don't forget: Glory only wanted to wrestle Lee. He didn't travel to Iowa to wrestle Ybarra. He's a "visionquest type." - The Wrestling Room. We've got the scoop!!!
  19. Glory ducks the scales.
  20. Some further Minnow thoughts/observations: 1. He recently claimed that he intentionally puts out fake news regarding Iowa in order to get a rise out of Hawks fans. Great journalist! 2. Believes that his report that Kemmerer was "done for the year" actually was what sparked Kem's return. Sorry, not that important. 3. Thinks Brands was referring to him as a "paid hater." Sorry, you run a facebook group. Not that important. For the record, I don't think Brands was that paranoid when referring to "paid haters." He was probably referring to someone like Basch. Basch has the occasional Hawkeye on, but would certainly fall into most definitions of "Iowa hater" and is admittedly paid by the NLWC and also does work for several NLWC coaches and athletes. I enjoy his show, but think he is a "paid hater.'
  21. Does he have a binder?
