  1. Thought the face looked familiar! It was the Luther College part that threw me off. I still think that part was unnecessary. Also, unlike Minnow, I will admit to an L! (at least a little)
  2. So I half-apologize to Minnow, however he should not have said "Luther College."
  3. OK, that makes sense. But then he says "Luther College."
  4. Actually, that is the scandal! No D3 coach voted for Yianni!
  5. I know. Typical Minnow. Check now and screenshot. It'll be deleted soon. Guy acts like he knows wrestling, then assassinates a guy's character with lies.
  6. Minnow has put the Luther College (d3) coach on blast, claiming he is responsible.
  7. Agreed. One very rare exception: This year, I watched as a kid who was down 10-0 successfully hit a leg cradle in a scramble. The opponent worked his way off his back, but looked as if someone had taken his batteries out. He just had no energy. The score was now 10-5, and the leg cradler then immediately hits a crossface cradle to win by pin in the third. The other wrestler stumbled off the mat, embarrassed and perhaps broken. I have no doubt he was the better wrestler, but fell victim to some unfortunate circumstances. Otherwise, yeah... you're generally a jerk.
  8. I have wrestled against athletes from Canadian college teams and also know someone who went to university in Canada because he wanted to wrestle for a freestyle team.
  9. Col. Burr retired from duels undefeated, so I guess it is as "good" a loss as any.
  10. I was going based on the previous post that counter the win over Eierman as four wins over all-Americans.
  11. How many wins over national champs?
  12. There is nothing in your statement that I can disagree with.
  13. Indeed it is, but there were some solid athletes. There are still some smaller people worldwide, just not many in the USA.
  14. I remember some great matches involving Alexis Vila and Vugar Orujov (Vito's dad). Also some good Koreans and Japanese.
  15. Should be posted daily, to remind fans of what a real coaching meltdown looks like.
  16. Was that after Dean or Foy?
  17. Our freestyle team seemed to be solid in par terre during Bruce Burnett's tenure as National Freestyle Coach. Of course, Dave Schultz was likely also a big part of this. Some standouts, just from '95-'96: Zeke: Developed a leg lace that enabled him to beat Jordanov in Bulgaria Cross: Nasty on top, particularly with high gut Saunders: if he was able to get a chance on top, he often made things happen Schultz: mean and nasty on top Baumgartner: solid all around in par terre
  18. Not to mention "Vinland" (likely Newfoundland)
  19. Don't you mean "the institution in Norfolk?"
  20. In 1787, Ohio was considered part of the Northwestern US!
  21. ... as was Kendall Cross.
  22. ...and smoked Ben Askren in high school.
