  1. You are joking, right?
  2. Nobody is trying to convince anyone that it will be a tie. You posted that it was a joke. Many gents who are not fans of either, myself included, are trying to explain to you that NCAAs is not a dual. In a dual, this could be very close. You must not have paid very good attention over on the old forum. I am the Michigan schools then Michiganders then the B1G and my approach (for some time) has been that the better Penn State is the better it is for USA Wrestling. I am about as big of a Cael nuthugger as you can get from a non-Penn State guy. Also, what is incorrectly stated when saying that 125 (unproven), 141 (unknown and unproven), 149 (unknown), 157 (unknown if Haines, unproven if others), and 165 (unknown) are all.either unproven or unknown as NCAA D1 collegiate wrestlers? Facundo wins it all? I am sending many gents here a Cuban to celebrate with. Berraclaugh AAs? I am super stoked there too. The others? Same. Educate me how your prediction coming true and any of them proving themselves in 5-6 months time changes my preseason statement to be less true.
  3. Do you think we see him as a spot starter this year or...?
  4. BOOM! Roasted. In memory of @VakAttack- who is silent it seems.
  5. I agree on the new rules. I hope we see Haines. He looked not so good at 70 KG his last go. Has he grown out of 157?
  6. I feel attacked.
  7. Honestly did not think I would be defending Cornell this early in the game, gents. Less moderation does not mean more sense, obviously.
  8. Deeper with less holes? Penn State has unprovens and unknowns at 125, 141, 149, 157, and 165. They lost Nick Lee. They are not deeper than last year. Cornell is a clear underdog, yes. Put some respect on their name. They will 100% be right there with them, if they meet up.
  9. They have no reason to not redshirt Haines this year. They are comfortable title favorites. This is as bad a take as saying Ethan Smith hasn't improved since arriving in Cbus, and I know things about bad takes.
  10. Please provide your own match by match breakdown, @Pish?
  11. Also, I agree. I was just saying that those picks are not too far out there.
  12. They did dual last year and it was MUCH closer than folks thought it would be then too... https://www.wrestlestat.com/event/63383/cornell-penn-state-dual/boxscore
  13. That is actually rather realistic.
  14. I actually expect that to be worse next time. A rather bad matchup for Romero. He can't horse him.
  15. I think he Majors your boy... again...?
  16. I think Brooks is going to Major, or better, on everyone not PK or TH this season.
  17. Sparty has their guys at all the wrong weights. It is tragic.
  18. https://intermatwrestle.com/articles/26225
  19. If you look at him, though, between his junior and senior seasons he got MUCH bigger. Much bigger while wrestling at some point in time during those seasons 'down' at 145. He is a very physically driven kid. He may be too large for 141 now. His frame is just as large as his brother, who is now at CMU and wrestling 157.
  20. He had to stay withing striking distance of 145(147 after January 1st), as he dropped there for a few high profile tournaments/duals. Otherwise he went wherever it gave Dundee a better chance at victory - 152 ot 160.
  21. What result do you have?
  22. Well he hasn't been that low since junior year and he is a workhorse. He wrestled the hugh school season at 152 (154) then dropped to 145 for his last match with Mendes.
  23. I will go with one of my teams, the University of Michigan. This match happens this season AT Penn State. The dual starts at 125. 125 Medley (UoM) VS Howard (PSU) I think we are going to see a Medley that is much improved, after a season behind Suriano. I also don't see a reason to believe Howard has jumped levels. The match was a one takedown match before. I think it will be that again, but in the other direction, and not going in to OT. 3-1, 4-2 style match in favor of Medley. I wouldn't be surprised to see an additional riding time point tacked on there, too. UoM 3 - PSU 0 133 Ragusin (UofM) VS Bravo-Young (PSU) Word out of the room is that Ragusin has jumped levels. Will it be enough? No. Will it keep it closer than 7/8 point losses like prior? Yes. RBY will win the TD battle 3-0 and the final score will be 7-3 with no riding time advantage either way. Tied 3 - 3 141 Mattin (UofM) VS Bartlett (PSU) I think by the time this match rolls around Mattin will have established himself as the clear frontrunner for Michigan. That said, this is going to always be a difficult matchup fot him. Bartlett is faster and a better wrestler, which will likely prevent Mattin from being able to grind away. I expect a comfortable 6-4, 8-5 style match, in which the match is never in doubt even if the score is close. PSU 6 - UofM 3 149 Lamer (UofM) VS Van Ness (PSU) Here is a scary possible match. I expect both to have jumped levels. Neither will gas the other. This is probably my most difficult match to call. I am going homer here and calling a 12-10 OT match win for Lamer. Tied 6 - 6 157 Lewan (UofM) VS J. Lee (PSU) I was a beluever in Berraclaugh last season and he never separated himself or provrd himself. I expect that this season, too. Coin flip told me Joe Lee. Lewan will be winning in his typical fashion then Lee will try a couple desparate things late, though, and los 8-3. UofM 9 - PSU 6 165 Amine (UofM) VS Facundo (PSU) This match goes in to OT at 4-4 in which Facundo had 2 takedowns and Amine had riding time. Facundo gets the TD in OT. Tied 9 - 9 174 Walker (UofM) VS Starocci (PSU) Walker is tough, just not on the level of Starocci. He will keep it from bonus, buy it won't be close. 8-2, 10-3 type match. PSU 12 - UofM 9 184 Finesilver (UofM) VS Brooks (PSU) Finesilver may win some matches using his much improved neutral game, but Brooks is just much better in every facet of the game here. 13-3, 15-5 type wide Major. PSU 16 - UofM 9 197 Striggow (UofM) - Dean (PSU) I was hoping to see Bullock give it a go, but the word is that he is under 184 as of now... wrong way to go. In either case, Dean wins via Technical Fall. PSU 21 - UofM 9 Parris (UofM) - Nevills (PSU) With the dual in hand, and Parris, now healthy and hungrier than ever, having BLAZED a path through everyone by now, Sanderson throws Nevills out there - indicating Kerk is on a pitch count. Rather easy, workmanlike Major 16-5. After the match he points at Kerkvliet. PSU 21 - UofM 13
  24. Greetings All - It is great to have a good home to kick our feet up. I have a good one for us, as the title indicates. Penn State VS <Insert Your Team Here> The lineup from your team can be of your choosing (from this season, obviously), keep it what would be nominal or realistic please. Choose your starting weight and venue. The Penn State lineup should be from this (ST indicates expected starter... $HlT happens though), also be nominal/realistic and not conveniently choose a weaker lineup, please: 125 - Howard (ST), Steen, Shunk 133 - Bravo-Young (ST) 141 - Bartlett (ST), Levine 149 - Van Ness (ST), Levine, Berraclough 157 - Berraclough (ST), J. Lee, M. Lee, L. Haines 165 - Facundo (ST), M. Lee, J. Lee, L. Haines 174 - Starocci (ST) 184 - Brooks (ST) 197 - Dean (ST) 285 - Kerkvliet (ST), Nevills Good hunting, all.
  25. I demand a recount. It feels as if he entered the league same time as Tanner Hall.
