  1. Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
  2. Are they supposed to get some unheralded recruits that might contend for titles? Also Angelo, the one announcing tonight? He is still in high school for another year, dipshit.
  3. To be clear, I do hold Angelo to a higher regard than his brothers at this point. He isn't a complete douche and has done a fair enough job at not being with his brothers when they do stupid shit. I imagine that isn't just logistics only but also has something to do with his own choice(s).
  4. I hope it is Pyle doing the interview for it. I imagine it something akin to Kanye West's and Michael Myers' NOLA fund raiser interview. "Man we're going to Iowa because Minnow says everyone hates Iowa people."
  5. I am curious your take, none-the-less. Feldman was better last year coming out than Carroll is now. The plan was to redshirt him even prior to his injury/surgery. Interestingly enough, Ornerydwarf had gone 19W-11L the year prior to Feldman arriving on campus. Doucet went 19W-12L last year. So I ask the same two questions I did prior. What does OSU lose by utilizing a redshirt and allowing him to grow more in to the weight and also allow the weight to clear out a little bit more? Also, how do you see him against Elam and Bastida right now?
  6. How do you see him faring against Bastida and Elam out the gate? I am not opposed to him starting and I do think he has a higher potential than Doucet. That said, I think this is going to be like a Feldman/Ornerydwarf scenario. Almost identical, really - just that tOSU wrestlers were better than their OSU counterparts (Feldman > Carrol, Ornerydwarf > Doucet). Redshirt him to allow him to add some size. That is really the only scenario I envision him not starting as well. I do expect him to get some of his shots at varsity guys in duals.
  7. That isn't how that works.
  8. I don't think he does. He has the dexterity of a 2x8 board.
  9. Using just wrestlestat's history, and not including 2020, they have brought home two (2) team trophies for fourth place both times. Two of nine is 22% - a far cry from 'every year' methinks.
  10. Damnit. I was hoping we were past the days where I called appropriate people (*AHEM* BONO) c.... hermmm.... 'Turdbiscuits' but NOOOO. Someone had to go and remind me he exists. At least he isn't Jason Leonard.
  11. Anything to do wth Cael Valencia being 86 KG for U23s? Montalvo and him swapping weights or are they both going up?
  12. Lewan to 149. Franek to Michigan at 157.
  13. Perhaps had the same said diva done just that - focused - he might be a bit further along.
  14. Mind you, I do anticipate folks to see that the culture is different/changed and expect them to get a transfer or two in, which could be answers to 165...
  15. Greetings All, Not particularly an OSU fan, however I think they have a very bright post-Focus era in store for them and the gents who were on the "FIRE SMITH BECAUSE FOCUS IS SO MUCH BETTER OF A PERSON" wagon are going to feel real dumb when the dust settles. I know big Mastro and VV, who were likely their future 149/157 guys for the next three seasons, are both gone. Insert Jordan Williams and Tagen Jamison there. They also have Cutter Sheets on the roster as well, so I do think they look rather good for the foreseeable. Mix in some redshirts and all that... Regardless this is what it looks like... - 23/24 - 125 - Troy Spratley (3), Reece Witcraft (1) 133 - Daton Fix (1), Cael Hughes (4) 141 - Sammy Alvarez (2) 149 - Tagen Jamison (4), Cutter Sheets (4) 157 - Jordan Williams (4), Cutter Sheets (4) 165 - Izzak Olejnik (1), 174 - Travis Wittlake (1) 184 - Kyle Haas (3), Brayden Thompson (4) 197 - Luke Surber (2) 285 - Konner Doucet (2), Christian Carroll (4) I think they could qualify at every weight with any of the gents listed. Fix is a contender for a NC and every other weight is a contender to AA, providing development doesn't hit a snag. - 24/25 - 125 - Troy Spratley (2), Beric Jordan (4) 133 - Carter Young (1), Cael Hughes (4) 141 - Carter Young (1), Sammy Alvarez (1) 149 - Tagen Jamison (3), Cutter Sheets (3) 157 - Jordan Williams (3), Cutter Sheets (3) 165 - Mirzo Khayitov (2) 174 - Dustin Plott (1) 184 - Brayden Thompson (4), Kyle Haas (2) 197 - Luke Surber (1) 285 - Christian Carroll (4), Konner Doucet (1) This is a lot of projection(s) here, as some kids grow and some do not. I thought the idea was for Jordan Williams to grow in to 157 before VV left, but he just didn't look to gain much(any) weight? If Khayitov (who has dreams of 74 KG for Uzbekistan, so 165lbs is likely is weight) doesn't come to fruition, I am not sure who would slide up to 165lbs. It would be idea if they could get Jamison, Sheets, and Williams all to progress along together to become AA contenders together. Could they spread through 149-165 or would 141-157 be more realistic and put Alvarez and/or Young out of the lineup(s)?
  16. Yeah, to be fair I don't think @flyingcementput the list together himself, but I could be wrong. Not sure where he got it or why he had it in that impossible to copy/paste/quote formatting.
  17. Bartlett's, too. It's the only thing keeping him from being the 133lb champ next season.
  18. He has an Oly-shirt he can use as well.
  19. Someone did Minny, see below... Discuss.
  20. I think those three are all different tiers, even if it is a good set of gents to have. Figs is a contender, Kaylor should contend for AA honors, and Lajoie should qualify and win up to two or three matches, depending on the draw (he could also not win any). Rather I think if we are 'tiering' the P12 at 125 it looks something like this, but please don't hang on these as the typical 'tier' law I put out doesn't apply... T1 - Figs T2 - Kaylor T3 - Lajoie, Lorenzo, Reno, Flores It should be a dandy. Seeing that makes me think Lajoie is just as likely to not qualify as he is to qualify. If P12 gets 3 allocations at 125, like 2022-2023, then he has a ~25% chance to qualify and will need to beat two guys to qualify.
  21. Missing Griffith to Michigan...?
  22. I like it. I want him to succeed and even if he isn't going (home) to a Michigan school, he is going back home to the coach that recruited him for his final season. I'll sign off and approve that one 10/10 times. So how about him getting in a Grad Program in Stanford? Kid has some serious brains, eh? He going for a Doctorate?
