  1. Two are Frosh at other colleges and extremely happy. Two are injured and done. One has been wrestling 132 and 138. The moat realistic one is the true frosh dropping ~10lbs.
  2. It might just be.
  3. Appears Saldate has landed already as well...
  4. A couple of interesting entries in to the portal that could thrive in the right environment. Iowa's Bretli Reyna at 149lbs (People's Champion) Utah Valley's Evan Bockmon at 197lbs (19W - 9L on the season, NQ)
  5. Is this a wish list?
  6. Obviously some coaching changes could shake up a few rosters and make them seem almost, if not actually entirely different than last year. Given what we see right now and what we could see, I think there are a few teams that come to mind that could make another leap next season... and I don't think either of them are Stanford (with Koll's massive recruiting class) or North Carolina (I think he is at least a season away - if not two - from a trajectory leap there). Cal Poly, Chattanooga, and Illinois. Cal Poly They came in to the season with high expectations and because their upward trajectory didn't seem to pan out and LRA came 'out of nowhere' it can be ignored that they had a comparable season to last year. That is still a massive improvement for 3/4/5 years ago. If they were to play with their lineup a bit and get a solid incoming transfer (or two - ahem Saldate), they could make another step forward. They will need to with OSUW, ASU, and LRA all improving as well. I want to see them land Saldate (I will explain what I, as a fan, want to see below). They either need an incoming 141 125 - Mendez, SO 15W - 12L 133 - Romney, SO 19W - 9L 141 - Heracules Windrath, TrFR - He will need to live to his name... 149 - LEGEND Lamer, SR 15W - 12L 157 - CHANCE Lamer, JR 19W - 7L 165 - Wick, SO 14W - 12L - Coming off Injury 174 - Saldate, SR 25W - 8L - Incoming Grad Transfer 184 - DASCHLE Lamer, FR 8W - 4L 197 - Priest, SR 9W - 9L OR Hodges, FR 4W - 3L 285 - Tinker, JR 11W - 7L Their only true hole will be at 141lbs and I understand their valley could be right where they are now, depending on injuries, but their peak could be an outright P12 title. Saldate a double bump? Why? Because I don't think Wick has the strength, even if he has the length, to go 174lbs. I would be okay with the swap, though. Saldate could have a helluva chance for content on social medias with 'bulking' or whatnot. I think the 'smaller' Lamer brothers swap and both will see an increase in productivity. Big Lamer will wrestle outside his weight class for a season, though. He'll be fine as I think he should focus on 184lbs long-term anyways. Priest? He is a 165lber at heart, but he always gives it his full-go. Anyone else care to give it ago? With a breakdown with hows and whys? Illinois and Chattanooga to follow...
  7. So the Michigan State gents... Chase Saldate: Saldate going out west almost seems inevitable, right? Who needs a 157/165lber for a season that offers a great situation (not money, necessarily, but degree that might help in his current path down the lines of Media and Information. If it is purely for wrestling I think OSUW and ASU make the most sense (if he is going 165 or Teemer is going 165). He might have a tough time making the lineup at ASU, though, tbh. Cal Baptist has a need at 157 (not really 165, unless their 0.500 Frosh goes to 157 or 174). I don't see him there. Utah Valley has a need at every weight he could possibly go from 149-174. Cal Poly has their lineup set from 149-174, but if young Lamer were to go 184 things could get interesting for him. MACtion? Aside for Ohio, he could go to any MAC school and he would start, either at 157 or 165. Caleb Fish: This one is a bit perplexing as he was always Green and White growing up. It is the one that makes me think that it is more to do with school/funding than actually wanting to leave. Unless some B12 or lower B1G school is desparate (no disrespect intended), I think we see him at a MAC or SOCON school as their 165lber next year. I think he'll pull a season similar to Lock Haven's Henson and rock off 35ish wins en route to a low AA finish. Disclaimer: I know actually nothing. This isn't even conjecture at this point, just discussion.
  8. Honestly, I don't think he does it. While he looks a good amount thicker, he isn't bigger. DT has a frame on him that is perfectly suited for 86 KG, hence one of the reasons he has absolutely dominated the entire planet for nearly half a decade. Again, I don't think he does it. On the off-chance that he does, I think DT leaves his shoes on the mat and embraces his student and good friend Brooks at the center of the mat, raising his (Brooks) hands in triumph. They both win, if Brooks wins, and I think DT well understands that.
  9. I mean... it's all still there, bud. Read again. If it hurts, drink a bottle of Jack and move on.
  10. Or you just don't read good.
  11. Northern Michigan, our MGR Mecca.
  12. Already did, bud.
  13. You understand how many transfers OSU had last year too, right?
  14. I mean... Oly last year, Truax and Nagao last year... all came straight out and it was rumored they were headed to where they ended up. Same with the Northwestern gents... it was rather known they were probably a package deal and Davison was set on Michigan from the get-go.
  15. I am thinking the Michigan State gents are heading in because the school 'doesn't have' the money to keep them on scholly an additional year.
  16. To educate folks... OSU = Oklahoma State tOSU = The Ohio State OSUW = Oregon State OSU earned the distinction and the fact that tOSU calls themselves tOSU makes it very easy.
  17. HAHAHAHA I am all for it if nothing else than to watch everyone squirm. HAHAHAHA
  18. I don't think he can beat Bullock right now. Give him a couple years to grow in to it? Sure, maybe. He does have a redshirt to use and abuse, if he so wishes.
  19. Oof.
  20. Curious if Lujan also enters. They are best friends. He is a contender and a Cali boy. Makes me wonder if ASU or OSUW is in the mix. I also wonder if it has to do with weight. Fish is there and at 165lbs and maybe he wants to go 165lbs?
  21. I think Mantanona has Oly aspirations, so I imagine he will want to be 165 or 174 for 74 KG. I hope Lewan can find solace in knowing that he had a more successful career than ~99%+ NCAA D1 wrestlers can claim. I am hoping Hamiti coming in (hopefully) can get Amine to open up a bit. Not sure who goes 174lbs there between the two.
  22. I think Lemley will be fine at 141.
  23. I agree with you. I am also hoping we might see the older Gilcher brother in the portal and on the way to wrestle with his brother for his final year, next year. That would be cool to see.
