  1. One, an injury default only occurs when you take the mat. It is a loss. You can't take a loss without actually taking the mat. Two, Manning is railing on someone for playing within the rules, not outside of them. He further does so without providing any meaningful insight on what he wants done. In other words, he's just a whiner.
  2. But he did use it. An inj default IS using it. Can you point me to Manning's new rule proposal. I'm sure it was posted somewhere and I just missed it.
  3. If Starocci does not wrestle they will claim shenanigans, and if he does wrestle they will claim shenanigans as well. This is all about the airing of grievances. Manning should concentrate on making Nebraska better.
  4. I missed the part of the article where Manning lays out his solution to what he perceives to be a problem.
  5. 125 Deaug 133 Colaiocco 141 Matthews 149 Abas 157 Zerban 165 Fish 174 Bubba Wilson (NCAA comes down hard on Sanderson and replaces Starocci in the bracket) 184 Ryder Rogo 197 Stout Hwt Pitzer
  6. If they change the rule to force a recovering wrestler to wrestle his league championship to qualify it probably won't be a Cael Sanderson wrestler that takes the mat because PSU can win despite losing one wrestler. Nebraska on the other hand might send a guy out there and the guy will get wrecked. Kharma works that way.
  7. The number already is zero. You can be 0-0 and wrestle in your league championship and qualify for NCAAs. An at large would require more, of course.
  8. Wilson failed to make NCAAs because there are 33 better wrestlers than him. No other reason. Had Starocci wrestled Wilson still would not have made NCAAs.
  9. “I remember one year because the Minnesota coaches told me that Dustin Schlatter tore up his knee. Came to Big Tens, and they said ‘Seed him 12th.’ That’s being transparent because Dustin Schlatter was obviously a three-time All-American and it was his senior year,” Manning said. “That’s just the right thing to do, not ‘Well, we don’t know, we’re going to evaluate tomorrow.’ Well, the guy didn’t wrestle in either tournament. There’s a reason why the guy didn’t wrestle. Minnesota handled it the right way – they came in and said it.” Starocci is seeded 9th at NCAAs and everyone is complaining about it. This seems more about the fact that PSU wins all the time, and Manning shouldn't stoop to such levels as this.
  10. Not only that, his record vs BigTen opponents isn't very good at NCAAs. He was the 4th seed last year and couldn't get past 29 seed Caleb Fish. The year before he had Hamiti down 10-5 until Hamiti reeled off 10 straight points in winning 15-11. He also lost to Kharchla at that NCAA tournament when he started shooting for stalemates and could not hold a 3rd period lead. Fish made Mesenbrink work this year but still lost to him by major, and I think if Ramirez is there vs Mesenbrink in the semi finals it looks like Hamiti vs Ramirez from two years ago. Maybe I am wrong, but that is my take on it.
  11. He didn't claim any of them by themselves has a less than 1 percent chance of AA, he claimed all 8 of them doing it is less than 1 percent chance.
  12. My comment was tongue in cheek.
  13. A guy like Nolf would be snapping Lewans head right off one viscous head snap after another.
  14. Worst part for Mehki is now he has to wrestle Carter Friday morning after making weight instead of on Saturday night.
  15. If Carter is healthy enough to beat Mehki then he is healthy enough to handily best Kennedy.
  16. Not possible
  17. They are making Haines go thru Lewan again.
  18. Has a 14 year old ever won NCAA? I am going to stay on this overplayed joke until he loses.
  19. If he wins he should get heavy consideration for OW.
  20. That is just it Vak, we don't really know. When these seeds were made for all anyone knew Carter was "drilling in the room" to dredge up a familiar refrain. And with Griffith also injured, maybe Mehki got the cake draw. When they all wrestle is when we'll know.
  21. What if Carter is only 85 percent and Mekhi beats him? Place Carter on Griffiths side and maybe Griffith is only 60 percent and everyone claims PSU was gifted.
  22. I agree. Rules have consequences. Put Carter anywhere and Carter does not care, but those who face him early do care. Gotta beat the whole field to win.
  23. As per his career, Starocci is the bad draw.
  24. Manning did this bracket, right?
