  1. Late to the party but that Armenian was legit; really fun match to watch w/ James
  2. Without knowing any details; sounds like a "transfer down" situation. Any name brand school probably doesn't want the headache given the inconsistent results. Went to Blair but from VA, right? Maybe if I had to take a guess maybe Morgan St? Thought about Rider too, they cleared out a bunch and has success w/ second chance kids and have had a nice little run of putting people on the podium (Alvarez, Laird, Kinnerer, Dellavecchia)
  3. Exactly what I said an hour ago
  4. Sanchez up now on Mat B
  5. Good old American gas tank
  6. This Kazak kid wrestling Bassett is decently shorter but he's aggressive
  7. I've never claimed to be intelligent . . . hopefully THAT isn't the jinx now
  8. 13 - 2 final; I didn't jinx him
  9. Sammy Sanchez just smashing his way to the semis' he's a joy to watch It appears I've jinxed him; Turkey won a challenge to take Sanchez's tech away and then immediately got a TD
  10. I recall seeing somewhere there were academic issues to clean up (don't recall the source so I'm aware it's wildly irresponsible to just regurgitate that but hey that's what the internet is for - just take this as a disclaimer) If true though, he may be tidying things up w/ summer classes and waiting to announce his transfer once the academics are taken care of
  11. Would be even more impressive if he did it in spite of Bono being in his corner
  12. NBC does own the rights; my guess if it's anywhere it's buried in Peacock somewhere
  13. Maximo Renteria would be my dark horse too AA; he's beaten an NCAA champ (Figs) and lost in OT to Spratley. The talent is there but I feel it's mostly mental hurdles
  14. I wasn't critiquing it as good or bad; I was certainly no where near that level as a wrestler - just thought it was a unique tidbit.
  15. and especially double asterisk for cases when Mineo appears to be demonstrating a clear bias to one side
  16. For the most recent Oly Trials, despite being in State College all week Suriano was the last wrestler by far to pick up his credential/athlete packet etc. He didn't show up until 5 minutes before weigh ins and as best as I could tell he took an Uber to the venue in just his singlet and slides, had the Uber wait while he came in, got his credential, weighed in and then went right back out the door to his Uber. Doesn't help answer the question but that's my Suriano story and seemed as good a time as any to share it.
  17. The vast bulk of them have graduated out - Shannon would have too if it weren't for the medical (he didn't wrestle after Nov 24th)
  18. Wrestlstat does say he has one last year of elgibility contingent on getting a medical for this past year 2020 - redshirt 2021 - covid free 2022 - freshman 2023 - sophomore 2024 - junior 2025 - medical 2026 - redshirt Wrestlstat does also say he wrestled in the 2019 Midlands . . . but says he went just 1-1
  19. Strictly geographically speaking, his socials say Starocci is in California; specifically Malibu (or at least was over the weekend)
  20. I coached HS in Buffalo suburbs for a few years; wrestling has an okay following in the general populace. That city loves it's hockey though and that will always take a lot of the winter sports athletes
  21. Shannon feels like he's been around for a decade between Illinois and Michigan St; can't believe he's still got eligibility
  22. Glad he's still involved in the sport; injuries zapped him bad of his powers
  23. Just wait until Oregon St wins a team natty under Pendleton!
  24. They made the Sidun graphic!
  25. I know; was just easier to make a point of the two finals losses in the comment I was quoting. I believe Ben did get him once in college but that's nothing compared to Pendleton's 7
