Yes but lets not forget 2 NCAA D1 Champions from that group

Agree...I remember 40 years ago when D3 teams in NJ had multiple D1 AA and D1 Champions. Really wish they still invited D2 and D3 Champs to NCAA Tournament

Lewis beat former AA Jackson Turley 2-1 at last years NCAA Tournament...That match should be great Friday

Henson vs Butler? Butler a big underdog but him and Moore dropping down a weight might have them too low in Rankings I guess we'll find out

Howard will AA when he is 26 Wrestling for Rider

Robie and Goodale met numerous times on the mat back in the 90's ...I'm sure no loved loss..Just adds to the buzz over this dual

174: NCAA Champ Mekhi Lewis coming home ( went to HS 10 mins from RU) Jersey Mikes is going to be Electric

Going to be a Great atmosphere at Jersey Mikes Arena..Some very interesting match ups...2 NJ Ranked Wrestlers opening dual @ 125 is going to have the place rocking

Wrestlestat has it as a blowout 29-3 Indiana 12-7 at the half Rider How does a B1G team Forfeit at 285lbs? Indiana is Bad..They will probably come back and Win but their not winning any B1G matches this season

No Same as Princeton and Rider and why teams within 50 miles meet up yearly...Lehigh wants NO part of losing to a local School they Owned Forever!

Yes but Lehigh also refuses to Wrestle a Dual Meet against Rutgers these days...The 2 schools are 48 miles apart....They wrestled in a Dual almost every year since 1941....Rutgers Won a match in 1950 and then didn't Win again till 2013 (63 years) Most blood baths for RU.......Lehigh went 2-2 against Rutgers from 2013-2017 and that was it....Lehigh has Not wanted any part of their neighbor ( The State University of NJ ) since in a Dual meet

Cal Poly is going to get smoked by Rutgers tonight and Duke would probably struggle to be a top 10 HS team in NJ/PA..Duke is pathetic

Yaraslau Slavikouski from Harvard starting for Rutgers in The B1G and The Oklahoma transfers Moore and Buter dropping weights to wrestle at Jersey Mikes Arena!

I was really surprised I read Duke doesn't give out any? I thought they were around 4 at least. I know all the Big Programs give out all 9.9 and that's not counting the Real Big Programs that can add NLI $ and they can add recruits with Also some schools have it down to a science on how to get as many Elite recruits/transfers on campus as possible with NLI and Academic scholarships. Pretty sure Sacred Heart gives 1 scholarship and that's why they can't be competitive in D1. I don't think anyone is better at bringing in numerous Elite wrestlers then Cornell. The Ivy League doesn't give out any Athletic Scholarships, but the Elite Ivy League Athletes are not paying anything or a small amount. What about D2 and NAIA Schools? I know some of them offer Scholarships.

Lehigh has taken a big hit with the dominance of Cornell and the emergence of Princeton and Rutgers who are right in their backyard. For a long time Princeton and Rutgers never was competitive against Lehigh. Not sure Princeton can keep it up but Rutgers will be good every year and probably better or just as good with Lehigh...In the 70s and 80s Lehigh was the Wrestling Power in the Northeast without a question...Until Goodale came aboard Rutgers lost 53 years in a row to Lehigh...Times have changed!

The 1st match for Rutgers will be a very easy win against a weak Duke team ( should be shutout ) . Cal Poly will be a much better opponent, but a convincing RU Win ...Looking forward for season to open

Great to see this thread again. Thanks SHP

Goodale always a good listen https://rutgers.forums.rivals.com/threads/goodale-media-day.268088/

Im sure its a lot harder getting recruits to Stanford then it was to "Ivy League" Cornell and their Junior College

Definite sleeper at 285lbs..Now at Rutgers https://gocrimson.com/sports/wrestling/roster/yaraslau-slavikouski/25622

Rutgers has the biggest Alumni presence on Wall Street and that is where Griffith wants to be in future

2X New Jersey State Champ Anthony Santaniello asked for a release from his commitment to Oklahoma. His Dad said that his 1st visit is set up for Iowa next week

125- Howard....Ronnie?

Rutgers again top 5...Next season will be a better year for attendance and more Home dates...If Rutgers lands Griffith the Jersey Mikes Arena will be near capacity for every match.
