  1. DeAuggie goes down. Not surprising. He's had a down year. Got over-rewarded for a good conference tournament
  2. Caleb Smith, the 5 seed, goes down to Cardinale. Great seeding job
  3. Ramos feels like a lock to AA. However, I thought he was going to make the B1g finals soooo...
  4. Last time he talked about his weight, he said he walked around under 130.
  5. As big as Glory has looked ( I thought he looked bigger than his opponents even when upat 133), I can't imagine he cuts down from more than 145. Let's say he weighs 140 Saturday night
  6. Every single wrestler at some point was a lightweight. Wouldn't that make it the best weight/hardest weight to win at?
  7. 125: Spencer Lee 133: Spencer Lee 141: Spencer Lee 149: Real Woods 157: yianni 165: Carr 174: O'Toole 184: Brooks 197: Brooks 285: Spencer Lee
  8. Good question. We may need to alert the compliance department
  9. Lee's interview on BTN - he says he plans on sticking around Iowa city for a long time in pursuit of world and Olympic gold. 15:40ish mark
  10. Didn't he score off of a sweet slide-by against Lee last year? Or was it a near score? I agree that his offense looks sharper this year, although at the same time he sometimes has looked as looking to do just enough (particularly after the 1st period)
  11. Maybe he goes for a heel hook instead of the kimura
  12. I think 125 has potential if Cronin has a regression and if Glory gets hammered hard by the weight cut and/or shoulder problem Edit: I predict Caleb Smith and Killian Cardinale to lose early
  13. These are intriguing. I knew there was something special about you, peanut
  14. Hey, you're that guy that keeps getting banned on HR, right?
  15. Hell yeah. We should also consider a push out
  16. You really think this whole conversation is about Iowa? No one here is complaining about Iowa's seed, that has been established numerous times. You're usually sharper than this
  17. I once caught the #1 wrestler on his back, briefly, while maintaining a 4.0 gpa. Man, that was exhausting.
  18. They should be seeded even higher. And wrestlers in weaker conferences should be seeded even lower. There are nonsense seeds in every bracket because of a seeding formula that is overly complicated. Get rid of conference placement (and, possibly, win % too) and just seed based on a wrestler's record and his opponent's record.
  19. But how do we get Will Lewan to settle matches within regulation?
  20. I like both wrestlers a lot. Wish they could each win a natty. But, for chaos sake, give me Ham&Cheese
  21. Glad you brought that up. I was curious about it as well. Like our 103 punder from 2004 surmised, I initially thought the rumor may have concerned OSU, but who knows. Would love to be privy to the juicy deets. Has anyone come across anything on twitter or elsewhere that could pertain to this?
  22. He also won a match without "nuts"
  23. Although this particular Pastry thread is fixated on Iowa (to maximize the juice), my concerns are not with Iowa's seeds. They got what they earned. I think the seeding criteria is a little wonky though and unjustly rewards those with light schedules and punishes wrestlers with tougher schedules. Call it B1G (and Big 12 for that matter) bias if you want but once the dust settles I will bet my bottom doge coin that the result will be the same as it is every year: those that were gifted good seeds on account of wrestling in weaker conferences will fail to meet their seeds (relative to the competition) while good wrestlers from the tougher conferences rise to the top. Caleb Smith is not placing top 5 at 125 this year
  24. Favoring Glory is fine, I'm happy people are picking him because I think he's a live dog. But to call him a lock is a little much. I think you are not giving Cronin enough respect
  25. Show me a team that definitely had a tougher slate than Iowa. Don't mince my words, I'm not saying Iowa had the toughest schedule, but they weren't feeding on cans all year either
