  1. I watched all his matches. His finals match against Rathjen was the only one that had antics, and, although this doesn't excuse the shove, Rathjen started it all with the shove and acted way more of an ass. I was actually surprised by how relatively composed Anthony was. Your take is way off base.
  2. Are you referring to his match against Rathjen or something else he did in the past?
  3. Wow. Just wow. I found it comical (in a horrific kind of way) that, when the ref stated the reason for dq ("misconduct throwing a punch") AJ put his hands up in confusion, as if he didn't just try to hurt his opponent. He's either delusional or lacks all sense of integrity. Probably both. I really hope this ends the Ferrari to Iowa saga. On a related note, i watched Brands' post match interview and was deeply disappointed when no one had the gall to ask about the disaster at 197
  4. Hopefully, this puts an end to the Ferrari experience. This probably means we lose Angelo (the youngest) which is a bit of a bummer because he actually looks to be the only sane one in the family... for now
  5. Are you blind? Did you not see the forceful shove AJ gave to Glazier right at match end? AJ's actions are indefensible
  6. No, it was the punch. You can hear the ref talk about it on the video
  7. if that doesn't kick you off the team I don't know what does
  8. AJ is rusty and out of shape. I'm more convinced than ever that he is not beating Brooks. Even though I'm not a fan of either guy
  9. Caliendo is probably better overall, but it doesn't help that Kennedy is clearly not back in shape yet
  10. I am. I like Caliendo, a lot. But Kennedy was very enthusiastic in his commitment and has been an exemplary team player his entire time at Iowa. I would like to see that loyalty rewarded
  11. wow, some animosity there between 2 supposed teammates. Lord, please don't let this experiment blow up the entire team
  12. how was that a takedown for Lachlan at the end?
  13. yeah, a few of those positions made me wince. On the other hand, I think the ref was a little slow to count danger, particularly in the very last roll sequence. Quite surprised Ayala didn't give up the score at the end there
  14. He's been borrowing Spencer Lee's knee brace all season. I wonder if injury might be playing a factor in his lack of offense. He wasn't exactly a dynamo last year either but I feel like I recall seeing more takedowns from him
  15. Looked up one of these creeps on YouTube. The comments on his videos are real ducking weird. I don't know if that's enough to condemn the guy but I do know that I felt a strange sense of discomfort (putting it mildly) that I never have before while reading comments on a wrestling video. It made me kinda sick to be honest
  16. Marinelli and Sorenson were in his corner so unfortunately it seems pretty clear where he'll be wrestling. Couldn't help but be a douche at the end. It's going to be a long season
  17. 12 point major, 25 point tech fall Reversals should be 4 points Make decisions, majors, and tech falls worth 1,2,3 team points respectively. This makes team point deductions Uber consequential. Keep pins at 6 team points. Replace conference tournaments with a nationwide dual championships. Base allocations on individual weightclass season long performances. Get rid of pig tails. I'm not sure what to do about wildcards
  18. With 125 being what it is this season, I wouldn't be totally shocked if Surtin wins, giving Mizzou 2 potential champs. I wouldn't bet on it though
  19. Probably not, because the ones that are dead set against AJ being on the team won't be attending
  20. I can tell you for a fact that this is not true for quite a few of us.
  21. Did you try giving the idea a funny name
  22. Thank you kind sir. I couldn't do it without an A+ breakfast Plot twist: I practice intermittent fasting
  23. I didn't crunch the numbers on this but it seems to me that ducking accelerated once NCAAs started to seed out to all 33. I would propose we go back to seeding the top 8 since having no seeds whatsoever doesn't actually incentivize wrestling. Perhaps seeding should be based on a team's record at each weightclass rather than on an individual wrestler'S record at that weightclass. Ie, if a team ducks at 133, whatever happens at that weight (a loss, for instance) goes on the record for the weight and is taken into account for seeding purposes. I really like this idea. Call it, the peanut butter rule. Make losses (and wins) really stick.
