  1. This is your yukiest thread yet. It's hard for me to read what the OP wrote and not boil it down to "oh wow, the wrestlers on PSU are black AND good at wrestling! Mind blown!!!" I strongly doubt Cael and company Look at a wrestler's ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, etc when making recruiting decisions. I assume they take character into consideration but I doubt they look at skin color when making that evaluation. The PSU team is full of really great wrestlers who, as far as I can tell, are great men in general (except for Carter). They have reached the pinnacle of the sport, doubtlessly overcoming countless set backs and challenges. That's what they should be celebrated for. As long as they continue to work hard, wrestle hard, do their schoolwork, and avoid getting into trouble, why even factor in diversity? Someone will inevitably take this to mean that I'm against diversity or some crackpot. To that, all I have to say is: bold of you to assume my gender or ethnicity
  2. sheesh. Some people take other people picking against their team/favorite wrestlers far too seriously. God forbid someone makes a spicy prediction and stimulates interesting discussion.
  3. Swiderski just kicked Young 3 times into the hip
  4. @ionel what's the situation with Mastro? This should be a good dual. Interested to see if Bastida seeks vengeance for grievances conducted a few years ago
  5. I don't hate it. In fact, I really like the stall proposal for period 1
  6. This is a valid concern. Why bother finishing a takedown, only to inevitably give up 1 escape, when you can simply walk a single leg out of bounds. The latter nets you the same points without the extra effort. Still, I'd wish they'd experiment with it
  7. I continue to abhor the ankle ride (as well as double boots in) regardless of the wrestler. Real should have been called for stalling. He would have won anyways because he's the better wrestler. Doesn't matter. We learned recently that officials won't call top stalling
  8. I'm surprised this topic got as much traction as it has. I didn't expect a standing ovation and don't care that it didn't take place. The handful of meek boo's that were audible at match start also don't bother me.
  9. I haven't seen any Iowa fans suggest results would be different if the styles were different (but I also don't pay much attention to what other fans think). I am convinced we would see more action if the rules were tweaked. We don't need to go full on Freestyle necessarily
  10. I'm not sure if Iowa wins under freestyle rules. Hard to say since we haven't seen most of either team in that style. I do think it would have been more entertaining.
  11. Wyoming brought a lot of altitude with them
  12. I have no idea what this means. He was able to get out from Dean at NCAAs
  13. Iowa has no reason to feel good tonight. Spencer and Teske wrestled below expectation, Warner needs to get off bottom. The rest did ok, I guess, but I would have liked to have seen more action. Assad's injury or whatever must be fairly fresh and possibly quite significant. Otherwise, I'd expect him out there... Hope this doesn't bode poorly for March
  14. I guess. id rather be wrong
  15. I was watching TV and reporting what I saw. If a few fans gave an ovation and I missed it, great for Lee
  16. yuck. Cass getting 3rd would be optimal
  17. No shat? I have already reported that. Try to keep up. The least you could do is read all the posts from tonight
  18. In other, other news, Paniro Johnson lost to some dude
  19. Hard to hate on Brooks. He is just so much fun to watch from neutral
  20. Assad must be actually dying
  21. He's been boring in the past. Really boring. But he's turned it up this season (in most matches)
  22. Oh, fo sho. Doesn't change the fact that it wasnt a smart take
  23. 59 takedowns for Carter. He has come a long way since his freshman year. He's actually one of my favorites this season
  24. Kennedy was closer to a takedown but... not a great match.
