  1. I have heard and read that he is injured. I do not know to what extent. The medical redshirt idea (now that I think about it, I believe Willie said it) was just a speculation; it didn't sound like inside info
  2. Someone on one of the podcasts I listen to (I think it was Baschmania) theorized that Courtney could try for a medical redshirt this year and Figs could in turn use an olumpic redshirt next year, there preserving max eligibility for both wrestlers. Could it work? I think so. The hard part might be getting both wrestlers on board. Figs looks ready to rock right now
  3. Imagine being so delusional that when everyone calls you out for being a turd, it could only mean that they're parroting each other. I want to live that life
  4. There are world team members in their 30's with more responsibilities on their plate than a master's student taking half course load and weighing in 2-4 times a month. I don't think Dean's issue is a lack of focus. I think he is one of the top wrestlers at his weight but has not fully separated himself. I also think it is possible that he (and a few other Lions) have been down with a bug or something similar. Brooks, for example, didnt wrestle Friday and looked a little flat against Lehigh on Sunday
  5. Basketball lover is obviously the type of person that has nothing better going on in life than to be abrasive on the internet. Ignore him. He will wither away.
  6. Your points are valid but honestly, why is there so much drama surrounding Lee's performance? Were folks seriously expecting more, 11 months post double knee surgery? To me, he looked eggsactly as eggspected: like someone who has done minimal training for the better part of 2 years.
  7. There sure are some strange people out there
  8. "Guys, I know when Dean will lose because I, and no other wrestling fan, saw him lose in the NCAA finals a few years back, down a weight. Don't mind the loss to MSU or the 2 controversial matches at nationals last year, those are irrelevant. It's Drew Foster man, he's the key, man."
  9. Lots of upsets tonight across all the events. Even St. O'Toole was in a nail biter
  10. Tanner cook pins Kharchla using the only move he is known for
  11. This would sure make for an eggciting dual! How confident are you about the 141 prediction?
  12. I saw on HR a couple posts reporting that Teske is on his way down to 125. Sounded like a load of bologna but today, someone I know who purports to catch wind of insider info corroborated that fact. For what it's worth, my "source" likes to overexaggerate how much of an insider he actually is and never gave me any novel info (that I couldn't find online first) but I found it curious that he was saying the same stuff, especially since he claims to not read HR or twitter
  13. Man, I would love to see him vs ISU but 11 months after double knee surgery just doesn't sound like enough time to get into something resembling wrestling shape
  14. Lee has stated numerous times that his ultimate goal is an Olympic gold medal. I look forward to watching him compete for many years to come. For the purposes of this discussion, Id rather Lee skip this year entirely if that meant being able to compete internationally. Obviously, I'd rather see both...
  15. did not expect to have a nail biter when I woke up this morning
  16. Just saw Real Woods and Spencer sitting on the bench. Safe to assume they won't be stepping on the mat today. I was surprised by Nelson!
  17. Warner leading 10-9 halfway through the 3rd. One way or another, he is scoring more match points this year
  18. this is not the first time Warner has shown a weakness to tilts.
  19. Nelson Brands enters the lineup. Elbow was wrapped up. Didn't do a whole ton (neither did the opponent), but Brands seemed gas by the 3rd. I reckon he hasn't been on the mats a ton lately given the rumors of an off season injury
  20. I would be elated if Spencer Lee were to win the Hodge but it wouldn't sit well with me if he did so while wrestling less than 10 matches. The Hodge is supposed to be a seasonal award. I know that's not how the committee will vote, but I sure wish they would abide by the criteria, or change it officially
  21. I hear ya but isn't he dealing with a savage weightcut? He might just physically be incapable of keeping an aggressive pace for the full match. For now
  22. Ok I can ride with that. What does a grade C mean then? In my mind, a grade of C for bottom (as an example) means that the wrestler struggles with getting away even against middle of the road competitors. I think I would switch RBY, Lee and Mason bottom wrestling to B with that in mind
  23. Idk how you can give all these folks a grade of A for top wrestling when hardly any of them score any points from that position.
  24. I'm rooting for him to win it all
  25. Then we could have enjoyed a silly (but juicy) debate about who is #1 at 149, Paniro or Henson?
