  1. Hope he recovers well - he is young and was very impressive in Paris. He was very competitive with Taz and I thought we could be seeing the beginnings of a rivalry. What did he have to have fixed?
  2. Even if he's healthy I think he will have his hands full against Azarpira - that kid is legit.
  3. for Minn add Nagao and Jamison
  4. I did not say "in Spring of 2011" - November of 2010 was before JB's senior year and his 1st at 165. He had missed the previous year due to injury. Most importantly JB did not have a lot of FS experience. He jumped into in the spring of 2011 and looked good immediately.
  5. In November 2010 most people didn't see JB as a medal threat. Lots of potential in the US stable.
  6. The Big 12 title - absolutely
  7. It was a terrible movie and it was especially terrible if you wanted to know what happened in regards to the true story - like often happens in Hollywood they decided to spin a tale that was far removed from what actually happened. Mark Schultz was done competing (in FS Wrestling) in 1988 - the murder happened in 1996. For most of the early 1990s Mark was living in Utah coaching at BYU - that's pretty far removed from Foxcatcher - watching the movie you sure don't get that impression. If you are interested in what actually happened watch one of the documentaries - Mark Schultz had very little involvement with DuPont from 1988 on.
  8. I am not sure either one of them will be at 157 in college - If they are they will certainly be able to compete for the starting spot. Duke especially could be ready to compete for a high spot on the podium if he can make 157 - if he is up at 165 he will overlap MM by at least 1 year and then I expect he will hold that spot after MM leaves. (I wouldn't be totally shocked if he took the spot as a RSF) I am afraid Sealy will probably be one of the extremely talented guys from 165 to 184 who is shut out from starting at PSU.
  9. I would expect Van Ness and Kasek will hold down 149 and 157 over the next 3 years - I am not sure which of them is more likely to be able to continue at 149 for 3 years. As for 141 next year and going forward - either Nagao or Davis could move up next year - a lot depends on if Lilledahl is going to stay at 125 - if he moves up to 133 at any time it will be his weight. PSU also has Brock Weiss who is a freshman and may be able to cut down. Next year they are bringing in high end recruit Dalton Perry who may be at 141 (a little early to tell) - also in this day and age the transfer portal will offer Cael and company many options to fill any holes in the lineup if there appears to be one.
  10. 125 - Lilledahl 133 - Crookham 141 - Bartlett 149 - Lovett 157 - Shapiro 165 - Mesenbrink 174 - O'Toole 184 - Keckeisen over CStar 197 - Elam Hvy - Kerk
  11. Also why would anyone expect a kid to go to Fargo who was training to go to U20 Worlds? Seriously?
  12. Your description of WRash's take as asinine is generous. Bo just won a Bronze medal as a 1st year U20 wrestler where he looked awesome in all his matches excepting the Semi loss. He has beaten highly accomplished D1 wrestlers as well as other super elite High School kids. Anyone talking about him being a bust is just a dick.
  13. I would think that in that case the tuition and related expenses would be deductible against whatever they made in NIL as they would be required expenses to make the NIL in the 1st place.
  14. That was Kueter who they said was 230 lbs - Parris was weighing around 255 his senior tear in college - I have not seen any recent weigh in data for him - I wish Flo would publish the actual weighs in amounts for the heavyweights - Track wrestling did that quite often when they do tournaments
  15. an article on Flo said he is around 230 lbs.
  16. They mention him making the team but don't say he won the Gold? Seems like an oversight to me.
  17. Someone should send the Wyoming Sports info guys a note. They mention Volk making the U20 World team but they don't seem to know that he was the U20 World Gold medalist that year. That isn't even listed in his career highlights.
  18. So does anyone know how many years of eligibility AJ has?
  19. Good post scourge - you are absolutely right - it is impossible to say at this point who will be sitting at the top of the heap in the US in 2028 - We do have a lot of guys who could get themselves to a Gold medal level in the next four years - Of course the same could be said for the rest of the wrestling world - I for one will enjoy watching what develops over the next few years.
  20. Flo had a list of the US team members for the U17 WC. For the girls team they only list 6 competitors, Weights 40, 46, 53,61,69, & 73 kg. Is the US not sending a rep at the other 4 weights? If so why is that the case? Any good info would be appreciated, Thanks.
  21. Zhamolov's quarterfinal win over the Albanian Russian was horrible.
  22. That was the summer after my freshman year in HS - I just started wrestling as a freshman - and I watched every match at my aunts house up the street, She had a big color TV vs the small b&w that we had. I will never forget it.
  23. Mason did have the bad luck to draw the best of the unseeded wrestlers. When I saw he had Munktar I knew it would be a tough match. Parris could have won it but I am not sure you could really call it an upset. Munktar was a World Silver medalist a few years ago and beat Masoumi who Parris took a loss to.
  24. I cannot give it to Zhamalov - I think he is an amazing wrestler and love watching his matches but he should not have even been in the finals. What they did to the Albanian/Russian in the QFs was a disgrace and I still can't believe they got away with that. Kyooke gets my vote for Mens FS although I could also see Tad as the OW
