  1. My bad then, I thought he was a Sr.
  2. Is he going 141, 149, or 157 his Fr year? Let's parse it out. Iowa opens up at 141 and 149 next year and Bassett can probably start at either of those weights next year. Bassett can probably beat anybody Michigan has on their roster from 141-157 already. Ohio State 149 Demilio graduates and 157 Paddy Gallagher returns. No way Bassett beats out Mendez at 141. Oklahoma State returns some pretty good wrestlers at 141-157 and Bassett might not be able to beat any of them right off the bat (Jamison, Young, Travis) 141 clears out at PSU next year and Bassett could walk into a starting spot but he'd have to pull weight. He'd ride the bench at 149 and 157. Rutgers doesn't have anybody from 141-157 that can beat him. Latona graduates at VT, opening up 141, but no way Bassett beats out Henson or Hippolito. So....after parsing this I've come to the conclusion that he'll go wherever he gets the biggest NIL check, provided the school has an RTC and has a top tier program, and he has a reasonable chance to start immediately. I'm thinking Iowa or Ohio State. I can't imagine VT or Rutgers getting this kid unless they are willing to open their checkbook very wide.
  3. I hope DT isn't crazy about making his guys cut weight like JS was.
  4. Is Edmond Ruth related to Ed Ruth? Little brother, cousin, something like that?
  5. I was thinking it was good for them to be at different school because I could easily see Angelo growing into 197 and I'd like to see him thump his big brother, hehe.
  6. I love watching that kid wrestle. Constantly working. If he was a little smarter he might be a NC already.
  7. I nearly picked him by TF but Minto has done pretty well this year and I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
  8. Obviously the conference dual champs would be the representatives at a national dual meet. I don't know how many wrestling conferences there are in D1, but there'd be no need to invite the also rans, the just conference champions. It could be resolved easily in a day. A week later they can do conference tourneys, and a couple weeks after that NCAAs. Easy peasy.
  9. Cael isn't opposing other teams wrestling in a dual championship. He just doesn't care about it enough for PSU to participate. He's not the only one. Why aren't the Brands boys participating? David Taylor? It's just a matter of choice and those guys all see NCAAs as the ultimate goal. I think all of us here would love to see a national dual meet championship where all the best teams show up but the best teams don't want to participate and there's no way to force them to.
  10. That surprises me considering the low quality of most of the articles from a writing standpoint. Thanks for correcting my assumption.
  11. 125 Smith dec Lilledahl NU 3 PSU 0 133 Davis dec VanDee NU 3 PSU 3 141 Hardy dec Bartlett NU 6 PSU 3 149 Van Ness dec Lovett NU 6 PSU 6 157 Kasak dec Taylor NU 6 PSU 9 165 Mesenbrink MD Minto NU 6 PSU 13 174 Haines dec Pinto NU 6 PSU 16 184 Starocci MD Allred NU 6 PSU 20 197 Barr MD McDaniel NU 6 PSU 24 HWT Kerv FALL Andrews NU 6 PSU 30 I think the best match will be Van Ness vs Lovett. Van Ness has been an engine of destruction this year but Lovett has been really good with only a tight loss to the returning NC.
  12. So....we have 3 Cornhusker diehards in here You know what the "N" on Nebraska's helmets stands for? Nawledge.
  13. i don't think FLO has any legit professional writers working for them, or any legitimate editors. They have a bunch of wrestling nerds, no offense, pretending to be writers.
  14. Declining vs what OSU used to be. What they should be. And how many years did OSU not even finish in the top 10 in that span?
  15. Isn't running an RTC a full time job about on par with being a HC?
  16. I want some of what you are smoking. I see PSU going 4-1 in those matches.
  17. You are probably right. What I think is crazy is the guys in the forum who say Scott didn't really have any reason to expect he'd get the OSU job. That's crazy. He was very successful as HC at UNC and quit the HC job there to be assistant HC at OSU. Obviously he thought he'd be next in line to replace John Smith if he took the assistant HC job at OSU. Maybe he screwed himself with wrong expectations by leaving UNC, but maybe some OSU people made him some promises which they didn't keep. Probably it's a combination of both to some degree.
  18. I'm so stupid when I first read it I thought "they are rating the coaches now? Cool!".
  19. LOL! Well, the first part of his comment was true I think I like Carter a little more now (which isn't saying much).
  20. McGregor can't back up his fat mouth. I'm hoping he comes back to MMA so I can see his leg get broken again. True, Bo is lacking in the humor department.
  21. Matt Modine's wrestling coach in that movie looks as soft as a marshmallow.
  22. Your joke didn't really land since I don't understand the reference.
  23. Who did that, and how did you do it Oh, that's how the forum handles the brown word. I have to admit, I nearly "browned" myself laughing when I saw that "I poop my pants, don't laugh at me"
  24. Would you prefer fake humility? I don't care if a guy talks crap a long as he backs it up as long as he's not flipping off the crowd or something asinine like that. You must've hated Muhammad Ali.
