Orine has shown to be “head and shoulders above” Trombley at 133, IMO. He’s a returning AA and Trombley has losses this year to Gable Strickland and Ethan Oakley.
No, I’m sure it was more about the in-state rivalry with UNC, I’m just not sure he would be celebrating like that if he knew was just making some spot starts.
I don’t have a problem with it btw, most of the team was doing them actually and fortunately I don’t believe any team points were even taken away
For some reason I thought Camacho had multiple bad losses but he really doesn’t. His worst loss is to Trever Anderson of UNI, who doesn’t really have any other good wins but has quite a few close losses. His other losses are to Noto, Spratley and McCrone. I’m not sure Trombley has shown to be much if any better than those guys. Sure seemed like he thought he was the starter based on the celebration he did after beating Spencer Moore though.
I like how Jimmy always sneaks in his trolling in something that’s not actually what the thread is about. Lol @ the thought of Iowa winning “at least 4 matches”
There are worse things they could do, but don’t people often comment that 92 kg is weak internationally even compared to 61/70/79? Seems weird to go 15 pounds from 174 to 189, but then the next 2 are only 13 and 11 lb increases. The increments should increase as you go up. And as posted above you’re basically also removing a weight where the highest # of people are (157/165)
Kinda, yea. Goes along with my Bastida comment. There have been a long line of 197’s bump up to heavyweight and do just as well as they did at 285, often better.
Kerk probably destroys Hutmacher. Well I’m sure he destroys Andrews too but maybe not quite as badly.
Thinking back to Pitzer last year I’d say Andrews would fare better against Schultz too.
But Hutmacher for Davison.
Whoops, worded that paragraph badly. I’m not saying to take out heavyweight. I’m saying (which hopefully was clear in the rest of the post) that we don’t need a weight over 210 in addition to heavyweight
Anyone who thinks there should be an NCAA weight over like 210 needs to watch Nash Hutmacher vs Peter Marinopoulos. Hutmacher looked like he was twice his size. And yet Marinopoulos, a backup 197 pounder, could still take him down.
If you want to shift 184 & 197 up a bit fine, but the only legitimate reason to close the gap between 197 and 285 is so there’s a weight closer to 97kg for guys with freestyle aspirations.
Yonger Bastida is yet another example of a 197 bumping up to heavyweight and doing better at heavyweight than they did at 197 despite giving up weight
Based on the data we have it’s gotta be Andrews based primarily on the win over Tabor. The guys Hutmacher has beaten (3 of which were by decision) have a combined record of 5-37…
Ding 0-5
Rosenfeld 1-11
Marinopoulos 1-4
Ruhlman 3-17
Although speaking of bad records, remember when Jack Jessen (who Andrews has a win over this year) qualified for NCAA’s with a 2-10 record?
isn’t he 10-9?
This clock couldn’t have been correct on this review right?
