  1. OSU does have a pretty solid squad. It’d need to be a guy that could be top 5 or so to really make a difference. I didn’t realize Kasak was an M2 guy. He’d probably be the only bigger name current PSU guy that I wouldn’t be surprised to see go to OSU, especially if he doesn’t want to redshirt which most seem to think he’ll do next year at PSU.
  2. I get that, I’m just trying to follow along. I haven’t seen the $1.25 Million from anyone other than Minnow, so I’m a bit skeptical of that number. But he very clearly said he’s the “highest paid by a lot.” It seems there are multiple different guys rumored to have gotten around $500k, which would imply Carter is getting at least around $750K or so. So for his most recent statement to make any sense, he would’ve had to have gotten offered significantly more than that from somewhere else. I guess it’s possible
  3. Thanks for the research. Point being he couldn’t even place better than 3rd most years in the ACC, and never won it. He’s a good coach, but OK State wants more than just a good coach. Taylor may have a lower floor if he completely flames out as an NCAA coach, but obviously the ceiling is much higher.
  4. If that number is true, is he claiming a different school offered him more?
  5. Reports are that as late as Friday he had rejected the offer. So they basically did the background check and whatever else in a day? Or did they do that before he had even accepted?
  6. How many times did he finish better than 3rd in the ACC?
  7. Doesn’t seem like they took very long to “vet” DT?
  8. Sure and John didn’t need to point him out
  9. Sounds like it was a search firm. And that DT may have reached out himself
  10. I saw Minnow say supposedly there should be another EIWA job opening, no clue if any truth to it or where. Hofstra is an option, but talk about a COL shock…
  11. Willie says the owner of Paycom is a new donor. Supposedly Taylor did turn down the initial offer (not necessarily due to the money) but they came back with a bigger one. Will be interesting to see once it comes out…
  12. This will be interesting. As others said, I imagine Kennedy will be one, which is also interesting as it opens up a job at PSU. Dake certainly seems like an option as well, but if he stays in State College and plans to go another cycle, what about Nolf?
  13. Wondering this as well. I think it’s possible he may not be done competing
  14. I agree, I was skeptical all along that he was really promised anything. Will still be interesting to see if he stays and for how long though
  15. Willie says he’s told an announcement is coming tonight
  16. Obviously Brooks’s situation would be different, but Fix was definitely suspended from NCAA competition for non-NCAA reasons. I believe it was USADA and not UWW, not sure if that would make a difference. https://www.oklahoman.com/story/sports/college/cowboys/2021/02/14/got-our-leader-back-oklahoma-state-wrestler-daton-fix-set-return-from-suspension-at-cowboy-challenge/328859007/
  17. Cael was off to a good start at ISU in his first 2 years before Cunningham joined the staff.
  18. Not sure, but I believe Daton Fox was?
  19. Yup. Although OSU apparently also going after Cunningham kinda makes the “well who could have predicted Taylor would lose to Brooks” argument moot.
  20. I don’t particularly care about you being wrong, but I’ll admit I do like to be right. My original comment was simply saying that the fact that Scott hadn’t been named yet meant it probably wasn’t a done deal for him to be the coach. The fact that they’ve gone after both Cunningham and Taylor already proves that correct, even if Scott ultimately gets the job.
  21. Yeah especially after he didn’t tell Nickal he was injured…
  22. Uh, wouldn’t this be a conflict of interest for Cael?
  23. This seems like a different tune than you were singing about it being a done deal for Coleman to be the HC and that this had all been hashed out for awhile… I personally would believe that Coleman knew it wasn’t a done deal all along, but took the risk knowing that it would at least give him a leg up. But even in that scenario it doesn’t mean he will definitely stick around for awhile if he doesn’t get it. I assume he would at least stay for next year though.
  24. I believe on the same FRL where they were talking about raising 57kg they were also talking about adding more Olympic weights. I’m sure almost every wrestling fan (except Nomad IIRC) wants more Olympic weights. The reason it’s not talked about as much is because it has a slim chance of happening.
