  1. I do think Fix should be #1
  2. Gable wrestling in a non-Olympic year WTT got them headlines? Who besides (real) wrestling fans even knew he was in it? What exactly are they looking for as far as "progressing"? Charisma? I think most people could've told you before he signed with WWE that he didn't really have charisma, which most people don't but it's not usually something that is learned. I have a hard time believing he's having much trouble with the athletic aspects of the WWE but I guess it's possible. When I've read some of the social media posts following his appearances, not sure if WWE cares (or maybe they like it if they want him to be a heel or whatever), but there certainly seems to be a large contingent of WWE fans that don't like him because of his previous criminal allegations. I would've thought AJ Ferrari would be a natural for WWE (and a rivalry between him and Gable could've been cool), but I assume fans will make the same comments about him as well.
  3. Possibly. Nothing wrong with a little speculation, that’s what message boards are for. Maybe he’s redshirting because he got a sweet NIL offer after winning the Clarion Open?
  4. Cutting down from 133 to 125 and then redshirting in your 5th year of school seems unlikely, but I guess it’s possible.

  6. Intermat
  7. LOL, honestly this is probably a better question than why is Crookham #1
  8. I think the overall question is how exactly do last year's wins get factored in? I'm sure there are different schools of thought but I thought typically they form the basis for the preseason ranking, but shouldn't really be factored in after that, but it seems that's what Willie's doing for example, as he mentioned Crookham's loss to Cannon. But that was in response to a good point by Kozak, who pointed out that just based on Crookham's season last year, he would have been ranked 10 or 11 to start the season, so him jumping to 1 after beating #6 and #1 isn't all that crazy.
  9. Maybe. I personally think it makes less sense to only have him at #5 as Intermat does than #1. #2 with Fix #1 probably would've been the right middle ground.
  10. Maybe? Fun fact, McGonagle's only (non-injury default) loss last season to someone in this year's 133 field was to Fix
  11. He's #31
  12. @Husker_Du looks like your ranker forgot to include Palmer in the 125 rankings completely this week
  13. Looks like Intermat went with the other extreme and only put him at #5
  14. Thanks, although I’m not quite following the math in regards to how 35% higher housing only contributes to +13% overall when the only things cheaper based on this are energy and tire balancing.
  15. Are there any other D1 schools in the DFW area that I’m not thinking of?
  16. Yes and no. The lawsuit caused them to add a women’s sport. But it didn’t need to be wrestling
  17. Sorry yea the Infection was different. But he still made the national finals that year… what injuries has he had internationally besides testing positive for Covid?
  18. I definitely don't blame him for trying. Heck he could quit after a year of WWE and still get the large majority of the wrestling money I mentioned.
  19. He wrestled 125 as a senior. What injuries did he have besides the ankle injury against Picc and infection he got recovering from it?
  20. But as has been stated, they have also had success at 133 & 141, and helped Gilman become a world champion at 57kg. Suriano would have fit that description if he didn't transfer, and because of Suriano they didn't have a legitimate replacement for a couple years after. I assume you're alluding to Teasdale with "staying out of trouble," and yes he's certainly a guy they missed on. IIRC, Teske (despite being a 4x champ) wasn't necessarily a top recruit?
  21. Half a million out of high school may be a stretch, but I definitely believe six figures for the recent transfers. Gannon Gremmell has recently stated he declined an offer of $40K to come back, and he's not even on the same level as some of these other guys.
  22. I disagree that Cael "doesn't want to support or grow NCAA wrestling." Yes he may have killed National Duals and I'm definitely on the side of wanting a duals championship, but for example other than forfeiting to Zahid a few years back he doesn't usually sit guys out for duals. There have pretty much always only been a small handful of teams that can keep up, but that's more due to Cael being the best coach than NIL/transfer portal. The guys supposedly being offered half a million out of high school weren't going to go to a mid-major. The one concern with NIL/transfer portal is big schools stealing guys from small schools, and yes that has happened but in most of the bigger name cases there have been extenuating circumstances such as being a grad transfer or coaching changes at the former school. And of course the B10 doesn't have a monopoly on this - Olejnik to OSU and Feldkamp to ISU are two B12 examples this season. There have also been a non-insignificant number of guys transfer from "big name" schools and having success at smaller schools.
  23. Yeah I thought the "Suriano curse" thing was more of a joke but people seem to be actually thinking PSU somehow isn't as good at training 125's as every other weight?
