  1. Last I heard they had good backups as well.
  2. Addendum: If a wrestler signs with a new team between rounds, the team he is leaving can insert a new wrestler into the match, thus resulting in what the common person would call "tag team wrestling." I am glad that you are thinking about what is best for the kids.
  3. Wrestlers should be able to switch singlets to another team inbetween rounds if their agent agrees to a new NIL deal with a new team during action. The result of that bout will then go toward the new team's score when they wrestle that team in a dual match. We may not know the final score of a dual meet until the end of the season, but we really need to do what's best for kids.
  4. Time for NCAA football to become FBS football and become their own semi-pro league. Give them what they want. Contracts, unions, medical staff, owners, 55 man rosters....etc. Let them lease stadiums and facilities back from universities, do their own promotions, pay for commercials, etc. Let them have what they want...
  5. ahhh... good catch. Missed that part.
  6. Oh, I failed to mention that a last chance tourney would not have the B1G. It will be in tiny font on page 674, subset A subsub set 13.
  7. To be clear, I have never lost to a national champion.
  8. Interesting idea....I would add (and maybe. you inferred this) that there are no at-large, that the last chance determines the at-large selections - like you said top 3 are in. You have to have been entered in your conference tournament first. Personally, I would love to see this tournament.... but not on FLO.
  9. Another interesting addition, or at least I think it is... is "Qualifying event placement one below number of pre-allocated spots." If I read this correctly, if you have 3 allocated spots at a weight, you would have to finish 4th (one spot below allocation). I think this runs in conjunction with having to wrestle at least two matches. Before you could wrestle one - or step on the mat for one then injury default out to 8th place and still get an at-large even though you only had 4 at that weight. Now you would have to wrestle at least two matches and finish one spot below allocation. My question is similar to @1032004 - Does stepping on the mat and injury defaulting after 2 seconds constitute a real match?
  10. Yeah, it's a two-sided coin.... His wins over Brown and Ventresca looked good early, but not now. The other side, is that the guy is still undefeated and dropped 18 spots.... at the end of the day, it doesn't matter in December. It will work its way out.
  11. 15% of the equation..... so a small part.... You would "think" that by the tine the NCAA rolls around and all matches are done, all conference championships are completed, that the coaches ranking (and other rankings as well) would have less than 18 spots of differentiation. At the end of the day, Borelli is overreacting to one ranking in December that at this point doesn't matter. It all sorts itself out in the end. Besides, coaches need to do their own work, not rely on Flo...but maybe that's why Borelli is upset.
  12. Do you have a coaches email distribution list? I would like to send my rankings to them to be considered as well. Fortunately, seeding criteria is seeding criteria.
  13. His daughter on the other hand, has WWE potential.
  14. Coaches rankings yes.... Flo rankings?
  15. Someone let Borelli know that he's still 13 in Intermat rankings +1 @Husker_Du Also, let Borelli know that he needs to be more concerned about seeds than rankings, because they are real and stuff.
  16. I hear PSU has some decent 2nd guys.
  17. I agree.... I think you may have added a new injury term to the repertoire.
  18. Absolutely.... our u20 and u17 crops are elite. The fact that guys like Crookham are beating world champs says a lot about the younger kids.
  19. Yes he was. Look around... plenty of people saying he will be a freshman champ.... 4xer.... is Cael's record in jeopardy....etc.
  20. I think they will both win titles as well... thats a different narrative than "I'm calling it now, undefeated freshman ncaa champ" beliefs that are scattered on message boards and social media.
  21. Concussions.... leg hits... jet lag.... the flu... How about he's a really good wrestler, who is young and learning and took some losses? He's going to be fine. Probably woke up this morning thinking, "Wow what a relief to get a loss out of the way so those intermat posters can lay off now." Some of you might want to get your copy and paste ready when. Messenbrink loses
  22. All of this leads me to believe either the ref was not signaling concussion protocol and that was not the issue or he passed concussion protocol and continued to wrestle.
  23. From the NCAA Wrestling Rules Book: IF A CONCUSSION IS SUSPECTED: 1. Remove the student-athlete from play. Look for the signs and symptoms of concussion if the student-athlete has experienced a blow to the head. Do not allow the student-athlete to just “shake it off.” Each student-athlete will respond to concussions differently. 104 APPENDIX D / CONCUSSIONS 2. Ensure that the student-athlete is evaluated immediately by an appropriate health care professional. Do not try to judge the severity of the injury. Call an injury timeout to ensure that the student-athlete is evaluated by one of the primary athletics health care providers. 3. Allow the student-athlete to return to play only with permission from the primary athletics health care provider. Allow athletics medical staff to rely on their clinical skills and protocols in evaluating the student-athlete to establish the appropriate time to return to play. Please refer to the NCAA Sports Medicine Handbook and the Diagnosis and Management of Sport-Related Concussion Guidelines for additional information and details regarding concussions. Both are available at www.ncaa. org
