  1. They are making one hell of a first impression on potential customers!
  2. Yup, thought they were running heavy equipment on the street. That and the video problems make me wonder - is Flo running this for Peacock?
  3. Da Comrade, Da.
  4. I'd give NU a slight edge in degree value. Not because it's a better school, but because though UM is a great school, like all huge state U's, it's little easier to skate through if you want. Smaller private schools, in my experience, tend to make that a bit more difficult. But this is a nit-pick, and overall, I heartily agree with your take.
  5. Slav ought to head to NU. Great grad programs. C'mon, be a trendsetter.
  6. Well, Dake certainly hoping Sidakov gets the same treatment.
  7. Worse academically? I think NU is ahead or at worst equal with Cornell. If you mean athletically, I agree.
  8. You're bringing back memories of the computer center in Tech basement at NU. Put my stack of cards in the cubby and see what came back!
  9. Of that long list, Nolf and Starocci are the only ones with a decent shot at JB. KOT has a minor shot. The rest none at all. IMHO of course.
  10. mid-late 70's of the last century!
  11. I've avoided commenting as maybe the only NU alum/ex wrestler on here, but I agree with much of what was said. I think the loss of assistants has hurt. I think the mass transfer hurt. The graduation of Deakin and Yahya hurt. From the private school in the B10 that could compete with the big boys, we sort of fell off a cliff, and lost that shine. I think Matt is a good coach and the kids like him. But in the NIL area things are going to be tougher. We're not going to get top-level transfers unless they want a top level grad school - and no one is going to go to NU Law or Kellogg and have the time to be a top B10 wrestler. As for academics, I can see kids thinking that school might cut into their training time, but that's not gonna change. Stanford has the problem to an even greater degree, and they are managing. No simple solutions here. Going to take a lot of incremental steps and then hopefully a breakthrough with a few kids who can put the shine back on the program.
  12. I was answering a question. I agree, he stopped attacking in the last 20 secs. That's why I said "in full". If he hadn't, I think there is a (very) small chance a stall was called.
  13. I think if he had kept the pace up with Carr not engaging for the last 50 seconds in full, there was a small chance they call the stall. The last thing Carr wanted was a scramble, so it may have been obvious enough.
  14. I can. Can't remember a ref giving a stall call (no matter how obviously deserved) with less than 20 seconds left to affect the outcome of a big match. Let alone a NCAA Final. Football refs will call a penalty in the analogous situation, baseball umps will call a strike or ball, but our refs are way too timid. Smart wrestlers know this.
  15. The kids are so good and the refs are so bad
  16. true, I'm still waiting for a ref with the guts to make the call with less than 20 left in a 1 point match
  17. Yup, never call it when it matters. Like being afraid to call a third strike with two out bottom of the 9th. Amateur hour.
  18. DC doesn't know much, cares about less
  19. I want to hear "All credit to my hot mom".
  20. What, are they following parliamentary procedure? This is embarrassing.
  21. Yup. Absurd turning it into a 30 second riding contest.
  22. Hmmm, well truth be told, I only had a soft pretzel, a bag of peanuts and several beers. But the crab nachos looked good!
  23. Yeah, I thought it was pretty crowded, considering 15+ hrs of wrestling with people moving around to different seats, getting food etc. And the arena and concessions were good - local craft beer, crab nachos, along with the usual stuff. Better than it was at Rutgers, IMO.
