  1. @poorwrestler Tommy Askey wrestling at U23s! Any chance he uses his last year of eligibility for the Gophers or is he done with college but sticking around the room?
  2. Cardenas up big on Cannon, speaking of which-Cannon looks MASSIVE. I had heard rumors he was still growing but this is insane
  3. HS Sophomore (rising junior). Maybe people will stop complaining about Kilkeary not starting for OSU
  4. Predictions I am confident in now 57: Lee in 2 92: Hidlay in 2 97: Snyder in 2 125: Wyatt in 2 I want to see Duke at U20s before I finalize 70. 74 and 79 I have a lean but I want to watch some matches back before locking in. 61 and 65 I have a gut feeling lean but these are brand new matchups so I don't know. 86 I will be flip flopping all the way.
  5. For my preseason dark horses last year I had Barr as High AA, McGonagle Top 6 and Steed top 6 (just ignore the rest of my picks) My bold prediction for this year, this far out, is going to be Zach Ryder National Champ at 174
  6. Willie said something similar- said he wasn't sure if it was grades/transfer compatibility issues/ etc. but said he heard TJ was sorting out some stuff with that
  7. The Sasso clip that is going around is hilarious
  8. I am believing the rumors of him going 157
  9. Oh I think it was, but also any google search of AJ will get you the double birds photo, and the rabbit hole from there is pretty easy to fall into. Mineo already posted (then deleted) the article calling it a hit piece. He also seems to think someone quoted in the article is responsible for the article itself? Which idek what to do with
  10. Mineo is reporting that AJ's NIL got voided as part of it. He is close with the family I am sure he got this from that camp. That article may have been part of it, but it is not anything special. It is the basic facts about AJ (including his past legal case) and includes quotes from Pyles about him, as well as from someone speaking out against bringing him in. Considering it is the University Paper and was written by a student I hope AJ fanboys do not attack/blame the author.
  11. And followed that up by placing 3rd at WTT up at 74kg. Beating Quincy Monday and outplacing NCAA Finalist Caliendo and AA's Hall, Barraclough and Scott. And probably more I am forgetting
  12. NCAA Finalist at 165 this year
  13. Ono not at worlds this year? is that confirmed?
  14. I can't remember do they always just do this in weight order?
  15. With Yianni moving up to 70 for now, I could see Vito going 61, 61, 65, 65 (Olympics). Obviously depends on if Yianni wants to come back down to 65 for Olympics or move up to 74. I don't think the cut to 57 will ever get easier for Vito and he is far from jacked, he could fill out 65kg in my opinion.
  16. MM is good enough to win 174 weighing 170, he needs to get bigger to compete internationally at 74kg, Dake was clearly cutting from 180+ to make 74kg and he is not even the biggest 74kg guy. MM going 174 for his last year would let Kasak or Duke go 165. 26: 57: Kasak (Duke RS) 65:MM 74:Haines 27: 57: Duke/Kasak 65:Kasak/Duke 74:Messenbrink Gives Messenbrink a year to grow more towards being a more full-sized 74kg Then Kasak and MM would graduate, letting Duke pick his weight and their other recruits in that range find a spot. Other option requires both Kasak and Duke to take a RS to let MM clear out.
  17. Yes, I am talking about depth/parity in regards to our guys in a domestic context. Parity is probably a better term than depth, as there haven't been the JB/Dake/Taylor/Snyder type stalwarts who are a level above the rest of the weight class
  18. I will add that since 65 is often the deepest weight at our WTT/OT's there are way more possibilities for upsets with our tournament style of qualification. I could see that leading to more years where the guy who makes it out is the guy who peaked the best that day to wrestle American competition rather than the guy who would best get results internationally. Not saying it is a bad system or that I have a better one, but for 65 specifically, I think that could be where some of our issues lie
  19. You are forgetting the Kasak in that equation
  20. Uhorchuk is #16 in class of 2026 and Creason is #21, they don't line up at weights of need, but they are good recruits for any program.
  21. U23 Eligible 57-Luke 61-Jax 70-Duke 74-Messenbrink 79-Haines 92-Barr 5 of them are PSU also! These 6 automatically have the u23 spots if they want them. Those who could also gain a u23 auto spot by making national team- M. Blaze 65, J. Blaze 74 (who still has u20 eligibility apparently!), Sinclair 92 J.Blaze and Sinclair would depend on Messenbrink and Barr opting out
  22. Love the new board! He deleted his commitment post from IG and posted #decommit on TikTok. He is definitely hard to keep track of so who knows where he ends up
  23. They are, but kids who are recruited by those schools consider other programs and some even transfer out. It is a major commitment and a head coach change is something that could make kids reconsider.
  24. Whoever the new coach is, he will have a big task holding onto those '26 recruits who will have lots of coaches (including maybe DT/Ward) calling after them now
