Truzz said he may try to get a more detailed preview out there, but I will just be posting the matchups at each weight with small blurbs. 57- Lee vs Sakamoto This is a shockingly weak 57kg for Japan. It seems nobody can hold it/wants to come down for this weight class. Sakamoto is good, but his results (5th at Asians) show that he is far from the level of Higuchi and Ono. 61- Vito/Jax vs Suda This is one of Japan's best weight's and Suda is a monster. 65-Woods vs Kiyooka Reigning Olympic Champ who went through a very tough bracket to even make the Japanese world team. 70-Duke vs Aoyagi Returning World Silver. Took a loss at Meiji Cup to Yama*I poop my pants, don't laugh at me*a, who won Duke's u20 worlds bracket last year. Beat Green and Lewan earlier this year. 74-Carr vs Takahashi This match is super interesting for me. Carr beat returning Olympic Silver Takatani (not competing this year) and Takahashi beat Messenbrink at u23 worlds last season. He also took 5th at senior worlds up at 79kg. This should be a great matchup. 79-Haines vs Kamiya Kamiya lost 8-0 to Wick earlier this year and DNP at u20s last year. This is a weight where I would expect USA to win. 86-Zahid vs H. Ishiguro Ishiguro was teched by Brooks at the Olympics. He is not a slouch but another weight USA is favored. 92- Hidlay vs T. Ishiguro Ishiguro took 3rd at Senior Asians, went 0-1 at worlds last year losing to Ghasempour. He is real solid and there is little data to compare the two, I would lean Hidlay but not a sure thing at all. 97-Snyder vs Yoshida Yoshida beat Snyder earlier this year, but it is a result that can absolutely be reversed. This is another one of the matches that can really go either way 125- Hendrickson vs Yamamoto Wyatt all day.

Japan's team will be set tomorrow. Here is what they have so far 57: Sakamoto (CWC) or Yumiya 61: Suda 65: Kiyooka or Tanabe 70: Aoyagi 74: Takahashi or Sato 79:Kamiya 86: H. Ishiguro 92: T. Ishiguro 97: Yoshida 125: Yamamoto It will be far from Japan's best possible team, but it will still be very good with multiple threats for medals.

I am curious what the difference between true freshman and redshirt/greyshirt freshman was. I would guess that the curve is even steeper for true freshman in terms of contributing at NCAAs

2027 Big Boarders
wrestlingfan22 replied to Indiana-Hawk-Wrestling-Fan's topic in High School Wrestling
Yeah for the east coast, these top kids have been in all of these rooms numerous times by the time June 15th hits. They have coaches who they have seen coach/been coached by/wrestled with and athletes at the school/RTC they have already rolled with. -
Love to see it. Glad there is all of the lighter weights, they are far more exciting.

guessing something like 145, 155, 165, 175, 190, 205, 220, HWT just since I doubt guys will want to cut for RAF. Could also see 135 being in there and combining 205 and 220 to a 210.

That team still might lose to FCA. The non-PIAA weights might favor BMC, and the PIAA weights might favor FCA. Could also see one being better in tournaments and another being better in a dual setting. 106-120 TBD (IDK if they have any incoming Freshmen or not) Young NR and Yoder NR would be in here 126- Bachmann #4 132- Racich NR 138- Bachmann #2 144- Botero NR 150- M. Wagner NR (State third last year (beat Butler at State Duals)) 157- S. Wagner NR (Really solid, has never wrestled in the postseason) 165- Weidemoyer INJ (Top 5-10 nationally when healthy) 175- N. Singer #11 190- Waters #1 215- J. Singer #12 285 Effendian #6 -

Unless something changes where he is ruled ineligible for anything PIAA he will be able to compete in every non-postseason event but nothing that is the official postseason. -

I think that Forrest or Herring going 132 and Butler 144 with McMullen being the 157 is a real possibility as well -
Which Is The #1 Recruiting Class
wrestlingfan22 replied to Husker_Du's topic in High School Wrestling
Hamilton is in the NFL now, Milano quit wrestling and is doing MMA, Mastro and McCrary idk what they are doing atp, Vandervere has 12 career matches in college, Picklo is going to NAIA, Jagger has 19 matches in his career against D1 guys and is 8-11. Just some crazy career paths in the top 30. Not anything against Willie, just shows how crazy the class as a whole was -
he is not big enough for the international guys at the moment, but from a pure freestyle savvy perspective he is as good as it gets in the US

Regan is automatically ineligible to compete for McCourt in the postseason. He could technically be ruled ineligible for the entire year if the district rules it an athletic-motivated transfer (which I doubt they will do). My guess is that he will miss all postseason events but will get to go to Ironman, Powerade, Etc. -
Is beau Bartlett leaving state college. ?
wrestlingfan22 replied to Caveira's topic in College Wrestling
I can not speak to anything that I would put the P label on, and especially nothing that is "violating or 'even worse things' to various women". However, I can confidently say that his behavior towards and regarding women while at PSU was far from classy and pretty weird, especially from someone of his status. I will say that I have no knowledge of anything even close to law-breaking activities, but what I do know does not paint him in a good light. -
I know wrestlers at (or formerly at) service academies who couldn't get into Ivy's. It is all dependent on the student

Vito delaying Final X match against Jax
wrestlingfan22 replied to okokzach's topic in International Wrestling
It is going to be at Fargo btw. That will be pretty sick IMO, Jax wrestling in Final X at Fargo. -
Would he be able to compete at World's this year?

Nebby 125: Lauridsen/Koehler 133: JVD 141: Hardy 149:Lamer 157: Trelly I think first half is pretty clear. I could see Ayoub potentially being a factor at 125/133 also. From 165 up it gets complicated. What is their best lineup on paper: 165: Minto 174: Araujo/Eise 184: Allred 197:McDanel 285: AJF But that relies on Minto and Allred sucking down to 165 and 184 again and AJ wanting to heavyweight. Could be a lot of mixing and matching in those upper weights.

Eve Berrington and her "documentary"
wrestlingfan22 replied to Tripnsweep's topic in College Wrestling
I saw people saying that it is cheaper to reigster for the US Open and get an athlete pass entry than it is to buy a ticket. Not sure if that is true though. -

Under the radar guys coming off redshirt?
wrestlingfan22 replied to BruceyB's topic in College Wrestling
Kade Brown- 149 for Pitt. They had a really good redshirt season after being underrated as a prospect coming out of HS -
AJ Ferrari on the market again?
wrestlingfan22 replied to Interviewed_at_Weehawken's topic in College Wrestling
She is on twitter now, posted a thread going after Pat and clarifying stuff. Also says she sent a complaint letter to Pat's job with screenshots of him posting about her and since then he blocked her on all platforms. -
2027 Big Boarders

With Tsarni, I have a feeling he is a Cornell guy. Shaprio went to Bullis also, and to me I just feel like he would be a fit for them to take over for one of those Delbarton guys from 165-184. Nothing outside of just gut feel however. -
Mongolian ranking tournament
wrestlingfan22 replied to Saylors_Tiny_Willie's topic in International Wrestling
I meant weak comparable to the Olympic field from last year. Should have been more clear, 57 in the non-olympic years is always weaker since guys don't hold it in the off-cycle. Comparing it to 61, I honestly don't know which will be better this year since both are missing the returning World/Olympic champ at the weight. Also with Micic, is he expected to compete in 2025?
