  1. I have always appreciated McKee's grit and toughness. I also find his mat wrestling fun to watch. His bottom arsenal is mostly switches and rolls.. which you do not see a lot of today. His bottom game is akin to how heavyweights wrestle so it is cool to see a 125lber using similar techniques with great success. Shows how wrestling is such a diverse sport and individuals can have success with a variety of techniques.
  2. I forgot 197, yes that is a toss-up also. 125 the gap could be widening but it is definitely still a toss-up when Drake is 1-5 against McKee.
  3. 125, 133, 149 and HWT are toss-ups in my opinion.
  4. 125 - Ayala #5 vs McKee #18 133- Teske #7 vs Wells #29 141- Woods #1 vs Vombaur #19 149- Rathjen #12 vs Roberts #13 157- Franek #2 vs Blockhus #11 165- Caliendo #7 vs Brenner #30 174- Kennedy vs Sparks #33 184- Riggins vs Salazar #10 197- Glazier #16 vs Joles #34 HWT- Hill vs Tabor #29
  5. I’ll take ‘88 John Smith
  6. Cam Amine beat Alex Marinelli, who beat Vincenzo Joseph, who beat Isaiah Martinez, who beat Jason Nolf, who beat Georgios Kougioumtsidis, who beat Kadimagomedov, who beat Kyle Dake, who beat Jordan Burroughs... Therefore Cam Amine USA GOAT.

There were a lot of good scrambles in that match. Jamison could get to the leg at will.
  9. Surprised to see Doucet beating Pitzer.
  10. Give Carlson some time. He was our first semester with an injury and is not back in shape yet. He wins a lot of matches by grinding down his opponents. He will be in the mix come conference tourney time.
  11. Ok State has looked really good. Plott is all gas from start to finish. He’s fun to watch.
  12. If you have slingtv and add on the college sports package you can get ACCN extra
  13. SDSU wrestles against Navy at the Virginia duals this afternoon. Should be a lot of good matchups. Using Intermat rankings. 125 - Tanner Jordan SDSU (#17) vs Evan Tallamadge Navy 133 - Derick Cardinal SDSU (#15) vs Brendan Ferretti Navy (#27) (1-1 vs each other - Ferretti winning last year, Cardinale this year) 141 - Clay Carlson SDSU (#22) vs Josh Koderhandt Navy (#20) (Carlson 2-0 vs Koderhandt) 149 - Alek Martin SDSU (#20) vs Vick Vafiadis Navy 157 - Cael Swensen SDSU (#17) vs Jonathan Ley Navy 165 - Tanner Cook SDSU vs Andrew Cerniglia Navy (#21) 174 - Cade Devos SDSU (#5) vs Danny Wask Navy (#26) 184 - Bennet Berge SDSU (#14) vs David Key Navy (#33) 197 - Tanner Sloan SDSU (#6) vs Jacob Lucas Navy HWT - Luke Rasmussen SDSU (#32) vs Grady Griess Navy (#18) Wrestlestat has the dual 18-14 Navy over SDSU. I'll take SDSU 26-6 over Navy (my picks in bold above). Go Jacks!

  15. Gus

    Ragusin

I would think the former due to Cannon not wrestling since he was concussed against Rini. This is Cannon's 5th year in college so it is also possible that he hangs up his shoes and moves on.
  16. I won’t argue with you about it. Mesenbrink is very good. The final bosses at 165 are just so good.
  17. Another way to look at @fishbane post would be that he does not want anyone on this forum to make the same unfortunate mistake that Travis made that almost cost him his life. A public service announcement if you will...
  18. Shapiro, Crookham, Davis in that order. Included Davis because 125 is so wide open. At 174 I would list Gabe Arnold instead of Danny Wask (though it doesn't really matter because CStarr is killing everyone). At 157 Chittum could be included as well. His win over Teemer suggests that he is in the mix. Kannon Webster may also be in the mix at 149. The Big 10 dual season should tell us where he stacks up against the best.
  19. I will go Kerk. Dude is huge. Also, watching him wrestle I get the feeling that there are very few people in the world that could match his size, speed, skills in the practice room. If/when his mentality matches his skillset, he will be an Olympic champ.
  20. I was surprised to hear that Bartlett has a sizeable cut.
  21. I am going to disagree on this. I think Hidlay is the better wrestler at this point in time. You say that Hidlay has not gotten better (I disagree, he is a wrecking ball), but has Griffith? He was a champ in 2021 and his signature win was over Marinelli who was injured and never finished higher than 5th. He had Jake Wentzel in the finals who failed to AA the next year. He then took 2nd and 5th dropping some head scratching matches along the way.
  22. He must be reading from one of the new fangled translations.
  23. Could be. But he says BOOM every time they land any recruit regardless of the recruits accolades.
  24. Keep Travis Wittlake in your thoughts and prayers. He sustained substantial injuries while working on his pickup. His wrestling career is likely over but he escaped a very serious situation with his life. https://www.gofundme.com/f/travis-wittlake-jr-emergency-medical-fund?fbclid=IwAR0-PhbW51D7z_Af6m7_rj8DbKeLgVoQLY20EtrsJB3nYdGM8Ex6Y0REB28
