Cry my a river. There was never any value to be destroyed, just perceived value by investors with too much money. The real loser is the climate. We only have one earth, climate change is real, and if we keep pissing away investment dollars to chase more dollars instead of investing in making our planet habitable for our grandchildren and their grandchildren, then we're doing it wrong. Billionaires keep dying with billions in the bank. Does anyone need a better definition of greed? More money than they could spend but little investment to improve the place that brought them life and the only place where humanity can survive. And the earth continues to slowly get sicker. It's turned into some kind of joke about "greenies." Laugh it up. But your great-great-great-grandchildren won't be laughing. And we will have left them with no options to turn to. This earth is the only one we have. After it is too sick - everyone dies. Forever.

This is a list of false and misleading statements. (Vak beat me to the details.) Not a single one is true. The irony is that the very thing that is leading to Americas downfall is the misguided believing in politicians who pretend that they'll do the impossible and "fix it" without any credible plan. They won't. As long as I can remember, nobody has ever trusted politicians. Because most of them are liars who only look out for themselves. Apparently, we've forgotten about that.

The Broadway musical from 2011? Super fun. I saw it live and thought it was very good, although my LDS friends weren't particularly fond of it. (They weren't fans of Trey Parker and Matt Stone to begin with, but that's another story.) I did a quick search and didn't find it streaming anywhere at the moment, but did find a DVD at my local library. Maybe check that route?

Wow, you're no fun at all. Can't you at least say something positive? Save your attack on me for someone else, I'm not a liberal. Better yet, just choose not to attack anyone else. Don't call anyone you don't know lazy, or bitter, or anything else. Just try to be nice. Be fun, say positive things. Even Rasta has you figured out.

Good discussion, this is fun. I'm surprised you didn't mention the Gopher browser. Born at the University of Minnesota. Gopher arrived a couple years before Mosaic. Wasn't a www browser, used the "gopher" protocol for browsing. Arguably, the first browser (even though it wasn't as widely adopted.)

So. What do you have positive to say?

But - when posters put the ultra wealthy on a pedestal, I think that sends the wrong message to the younger kids who are on these forums. Wealth isn't the measure of a man. Not even close. I believe our society isn't doing a good enough job of communicating that message. I'll keep working to fix that.

Hell yes! Did you see the results of the Mountaineer Invitational today? So much good wrestling. Cool to see B1G at App State. All wrestling is good wrestling, and more wrestling is better.

How to think critically about what the media is telling you?

Thanks - appreciate your comment. Like most posts, it's part of the thread. Needs to be read in sequence with the other posts (which is why it's called a "thread.") If English isn't your first language, I understand. I can help you out when you are confused, PM me anytime. -
Who cares. Admiration for wealthy people is a waste of emotion and time. They don't care one bit about you. Not - one - bit. To them, you are nothing more than a brainless servant. (Yet, ironically, your post actually serves one here.)

How to think critically about what the media is telling you?

As has been the case for at least the last 5-7 years, Russia and the US are currently engaged in cyber warfare. We're not alone, other countries are also actively at cyber war (both with us and with others.) Russia has specifically targeted our elections - which has been well documented. I'm not an election denier at all. I'm the exact opposite. I think our election was fair. I don't believe Russia's attempts have been very successful. That being said, I wouldn't rule out the idea that they have been more successful than we currently know. And I also wouldn't rule out the idea that the cozy relationship between Trump and Putin might not be a good one. These points are relevant, and shouldn't be misinterpreted as being 'election denier' speak. P.S. I'm neither a democrat nor a republican. The red vs blue concept is for simpletons, by design. I don't subscribe to it. -
Jack Smith Drops Cases Against Trump

That's BS. Get ready for the most corrupt President in the history of the US to take charge. He knows how to take money from innocent people who don't see it coming. -

What's your point 'China guy'? Everyone here obviously knows that bribes aren't loans. So you must have an actual point that makes sense? Don't hide behind BS, just come out and say whatever you have to say. -
OK, Genius. I'm sure you'll really baffle the Supreme Court... no way they'll figure that one out.

Imagine if you weren't actively trying to keep the rest of us from trying to stick together. Go ahead, post some more stuff about why Americans shouldn't trust each other and shouldn't stick together. What was your first language again, Chinese? I remember that post. The same one where you said you didn't like Trump.

Clearly you have TTDS - Tic Tok Derangement Syndrome. Not to mention RLDS - Rock Lobster Derangement Syndrome. These things are real. You have a real problem. Does it get better or worse post election? -

As I said, I wouldn't rule out "foreign interference"... You can LOL until you are blue in the face, but you are only laughing at what you said - not what I said. -
Wasn't a quote from me. That was what Trump said. I agree, it does sound crazy. But he will soon be our President again - so there's no useful purpose in calling him out on it now. It's time to gather together and put the crazy behind us. With what is going on with Russia, Ukraine, North Korea, Iran and the Middle East, the world is as ugly a place as I can remember it ever being. Some of these mentioned countries quietly use social media to try to split us up. I, for one, would like to see them fail. The best we can do is to stick together. We're much stronger that way.

No riddle here. During the Pandemic in 2020, people had enough time to give the vote the focus they should have all along. Proportionally, the vote didn't change - just more voters were able to get their votes in all around. The real question is how this last week (2024) suddenly the proportions changed dramatically. I'm not saying the Republicans cheated, but I wouldn't rule it out either. Nor would I rule out foreign interference. It doesn't matter in terms of the result. That is a done deal and we'll move on. But it DOES matter in terms of analyzing the process and any weaknesses that might allow illegal manipulation. -
Interesting dynamic in Florida

It appears the 56% were Republican votes for the eventual winner. The 57% were votes in support of pro-choice, typically associated with Democrats (although not necessarily always true.) -
"political crazy person"? ...and we're back, yet again, to the pot calling the kettle black.
