  1. I think it's a product of it being an olympic year as well as being one week prior to none olympic weight worlds. Other nations seem to have much better qualifying processes as well compared to us. I truly think our u20 team would have out performed this team at every weight aside from 74 and 92kg.
  2. Not that Margin of victory means a ton especially when you extrapolate out over a year but Ben davino beat Andre Gonzalez 11-1 in their wrestle off. Gonzalez wrestled off Bouzakis for the spot last year and Bouzakis beat him 7-6.
  3. its on flow if you go to floarena just find it in the bracket and click on it
  4. It was certainly a weird match but it felt like Takahashi could score at will and I do think he was legitimately hurt his knee was at a crazy angle with some rotational force on it when he started screaming. Definitely agree on Mitchell looking filled out. Would like to see him change levels more he seems to be looking for a lot of short offense and not firing as much.
  5. Kota Takahashi just beat Messenbrink 11-8. He seemed to hurt his knee pretty badly or was super tired at the end he was up 11-4 with about 15 seconds left. Regardless I have not see anyone dispatch Messenbrink in that way since he was in High school. Uww has his age 21 he won the senior asian games this year beating Viktor Rassadin this year who was 5th at the olympics and split with Cherman valiev this year who was bronze at the olympics and beat zhamolov until they called him for evading in the final 4 seconds.
  6. Not sure Kyler is making 133 in a year unless he does not fill out at all. He's wrestled all his college matches the last two seasons in opens at 141.
  7. if you put Beau,Jesse,Alirez tier 1 I would say he slots in comfortably tier 2 assuming he manages the cut.
  8. if Casey navigates 141 I think he's a contender. I however think it will negatively affect what makes him so good.
  9. I would assume Ech loses crazy weight when he sweats just because he carries so much water in his muscles but maybe those last few pounds when he's dehydrated are terrible.
  10. I know the first 5 listed who are probably the most notable are all confirmed.
  11. Magomaev is probably the on-paper favorite with youth on his side. JB is either 2-0 or 3-0 against Nohkodi I believe the only Iranian he's ever lost to is Savadkhoui. Kentchadze on his best day can probably beat anyone. As for me JB is still my pick for the weight but if any of Nohkodi,JB,Magomaev won it all I would not be surprised in the least.
  12. will they wrestle semis and the finals tonight of the weights with four guys?
  13. If anyone can beat some cardio into Zahid, it's going to be David and if Zahid can even get to like 5 minutes of cardio before he falls off a cliff, he will be a hard out for anyone in the world.
  14. Not sure I would expect similar results from last year at 125 but if he ends up a true 149 I think that bodes really well for him long term. Wrestling lighter fast guys his entire life I would imagine he will have a great speed advantage over the still fast but not quite as fast guys.
  15. Yeah, I saw him narrowly beat Zahid and then beat DT who then went on to look considerably better at wtt's including beating Zahid twice by a greater margin than Aaron. Aaron went on to get bronze in a field that DT had dominated for years. Aaron was better that day 100% I'm not convinced he is 100% currently better than DT and I certainly would take DT in a room setting over Aaron at this time.
  16. Matty lopes down at 125 is super super interesting I honestly dont know the last time he was that low. Sheldon would be my pick there but still very cool. I heard Stanich was weighing like 160 but still crazy to think he could go from 125-149.
  17. Not sure I would say Brooks owns them but fair. I often forget Bo is still actively in the room despite doing the MMA thing. NLWC certainly still has the edge. Im interested to see what Dake does. I think for his development it may be best to stay at NLWC but perhaps getting in a room with some younger guys like Hamiti and Dee would be a fresh look for him. Nolf leaving also alleviates a bit of what I assume was tension being they were far and away the two top dogs.
  18. People have been saying that the word out of the room is that he has seriously jumped levels. This weight has a ton of guys to watch. Lilledahl, Mark Anthony Mcgowan (former cadet world champ) I dont know that hes wrestled a competition match in like 18months so really no way to gauge where he is at. Kale Peterson down at 125 at 125 U. Greg Diakohmihalis. Majored Sotelo last year and outside of a fall to miller had two 1 point losses finally getting a chance to start. Vinny kilkeary "beat" Braeden Davis and feels like a true 125 which I think is a real bonus come March. Very exciting weight similarly to last year.
  19. Really interested to see what level Merill,Hendrickson,Plott,Hamiti are at this year adding Zahid on top of an already dream training scenario is pretty incredible. The upper weight room is NLWC caliber now.
  20. Very true I should Include Valencia because hes been on the senior level I guess because of his age I look of him as more of a peer of Bo's but hes certainly done enough and in a lot of cases more than the guys I mentioned for PJ. I do believe most of Adens credentials were at 61kg but I don't think hes a particularly undersized 65kg and Bo is not a big 65kg as of yet.
  21. I don't think there are crazy margins by any means Duke did beat (Lewan, Yahya, Webster, Jacques) Ashnault is on paper better than all of those but I really don't know how much he was training before last chance all of those guys are active so I rate them a bit more.
  22. The bassett hype while super warranted perplexes me a bit. He is spectacular but when you stack up his wins vs Duke,Blaze,Forrest,Lockett they are just not the same. Yes, he is dominant against his age level, but the Ashnault win to my knowledge is his only real senior level win whereas those other guys have beaten multiple active all americans/national champs and in regard to Forrest and blaze haven been at the toughest high school weight for like 2-3 years.
  23. if they snag one of Forrest,Blaze,Bassett with dee already I believe Merill will be very good they would be pretty set up for 2028.
  24. That yazdani guy seems pretty good he may even win a world title or two! I agree just as a reference to how hard it is on the senior world level for an 18 year old. Pico was the most physically advanced kid I've seen and he even would not have been super competitive against the best. More drawing a comparison towards him to temper expectations for Khalili unless of course hes another Yazdani.
  25. Was Ali Mahmoud Khorramdel discussed to replace him at all?
