been out of the national wrestling loop for the last week This is not the news I wanted to open up first. Douglas was an absolute force on the mat. Few couldn’t rival him. He was a tremendous couching talent developing both NCAA contenders and producing international talent. He also was one a noticeable inspiration for other young African American wrestler that hoped to one day reach the college ranks or had even bigger dreams. I had an opportunity to briefly speak with him once. He had just finished heated exchange with Brands and company about a match results at the Olympic trials and within moments turned into a very pleasant and encouraging guy while we talked in the stand together. He will be sorely missed.

Not sure why hardly no one ever brings up Schwab as a viable option for the spot. Is he just that engrained into Northern Iowa now that a huge contract and coming home wouldn’t lure him away? Is there some sour grapes I forgot about that would still run this many years deep. Don’t get me wrong I love him keeping Northern Iowa going as a solid program, but just not sure why his name never comes up when people talk about moving on from Brands. The guys Iowa born and raised, was a stud for Iowa in college, has that Brands style fire, has an established recruiting based, and is a proven coach. If Iowa isn’t going to go with a huge name complete outside then I would think Schwab would be on the short list of Iowa grown candidates. What gives?

Some of your Re spending a lot of time pointing out that Fleeger can puff his chest out better, but it focusing on the main issue. Why did Fleeger feel it necessary as an adult and a coach prominent youth club to take several digs at Freeman’s kid, especially in front of other wrestlers and fans. .

I could be wrong but I thought I heard that they had auto cards. Maybe 10 cards per main athlete randomly added into the packs.

White’s still really a developing talent. DT could find a diamond in the rough with him.

I’d be interested in uncommitted juniors and seniors that made to semis.

Dannie’s put himself in situations to get noticed in hoped of making bank. That all I have to say.

His triking was decent but so still don’t understand how wrestlers want to stand and bang for so long. Ground and pound is the better option.

Well he would have a solid record if this were hitting baseballs. But, not so much anything else.

If the kid gets to attend a premier university and be part of a top program I’m sure several of them know what they are getting out of that decision. And I mean the fact the tuitions likely covered by the school since dads a school employee may helps the decision a little. One less scholarship to worry about and you usually get a solid kid in the room. If you get a Blue Chip kid that’s equal to or well above their dad’s room skill level I’d say that’s a more likely scenario to get out recruited.

But I would say that almost always for students who still need some academic requirements filled before entering their service academy academic track rather than to just to get the kid an extra year to mature/lineup time.

Mark my words if the pay is right and he can find an avenue which will short run any testing cycle he will be back for one last run.

I believe i saw Lee was also participating in Poland event coming up. I must have missed the other IU connection that joined the coaching staff. Who was it? But good move for them to help with Central Indiana recruiting.

If you only make it to Nolf’s first match and then decide to stop watching, you may want to continue on through Episode 7. Some paths aren’t always set in stone.

UFC has launched a BJJ Reality show on Youtube to showcase their new BJJ league. I can’t tell for sure but it seems like they maybe pumping out 30min episodes daily for the next week and a half. Finalists of each weight class will be compete for the first championship. Jason got picked to be on Mike Musumeci team. Mike is considered by many the top no-gi BBJ guy in the world, so definitely can help Nolf out with his wrestling-hybrid BJJ strategy. While Nolf is considers a long shot to win the competition it will still be interesting to see how a world class wrestler can adapt to competing against some top BJJ guys.

I see that Indiana is on a none existent Tier someplace.
