Why doesn't UFC support college wrestling?
MadMardigain replied to Fletcher's topic in College Wrestling
I’m really starting to believe they do. -
I was there it was a crazy battle of attrition. Attacks throughout, not a hanging on each other snooze fest.
-
Basically make it or the actors in it eligible for any of the film award the movie has to be at least shown in a certain number of theaters on a limited release. Then they can put it out on Prime. It’s showing in Indianapolis this Saturday as part of a Film Festival.

Your Complete Preseason Guide to ILLINI Wrestling

It was OK. It’s pretty rare that any movie or series made 20+ years after the original aired is ever solid. -

hope this lands better than football is going -
Watched it PAX TV on Sunday late afternoon when each episode originally aired. Not sure when any reruns were shown.

WNO had a featured weight class each year where they try to narrow down the top guy where several competitors are close to equal. That’s the featured weight this year.

I maybe able to deal with the in thread ads, but getting a new mini pop up video every time I change the page I’m on is a little overkill. Starting to feel like the Flo when I’m trying to watch action during a live event.
-
You forget Fantasy Match Taylor has yet to lose. He runs the bracket and then bests Dake afterward.
-
Someone should take a shot at checking into a couple of them. Japans having a solid Olympics.
-
That could be true but by the rules now the wrestler has to confirm the challenge. So you would think the wrestler would get the reviewed sequence they were asking for. Again I don’t see a way Dake wins a challenge on what happened on that TD, not even sure what’s worth challenging cause he wasn’t close to a turn. But the rule seem to indicate it’s in the wrestlers hands to agree to a challenge so Dake should still get the one he was asking for. Language barriers may add some confusion but you have to imagine one of the officials would understand he was challenging the later sequence.
-
If you look at the video playing on the screen above during the review, which is the same video the officials watch (per the rules), it was of Dake being driven out of bounds while he had a chest wrap and his knees were close to the match. That sequence ended with the Serb scoring a point for Dake’s “step out.”. Dake was nit challenging that scoring sequence nor could at that point since it occured much earlier in the match. He was arguing the what occured just before the Serb got the Takedown from Dale holding onto a body wrap on the mat too long. Dake was arguing to the refs it was the wrong scoring sequence they were watching but they kept reviewing it. I don’t see how Dake wins a challenge on the right footage but I’d be mad too if they weren’t even looking at the right thing. Even their explanation of after watching the video was confusing since they referenced that earlier scoring footage first before ended by confirming the Serb’s takedown points too for the sequence the video screen shows they weren’t reviewing.
-
If you are taking about Dakes 2TD close to the out of bonds in the 2nd the Serbs coach signaled that they declined that challenge after originally asking for it. Its wasn’t denied they just decided to drop it because the score could turn into 4-4 if they lost it.
-
The video review they show on the big screen which is the same as the officials get showed the 1st period step out review that resulted in the 1-1 score. Dake kept telling them that’s the wrong challenge point and even wrong period but they kept watching it. You wouldn’t even be allowed to challenge something that far back in the scoring sequence. I’m not sure he would win the challenge if it was the right sequence viewed but I’d also be pissed if it looked like I’m getting screwed due to them not even looking at the right thing to check.
-
I’m not sure what the challenge was actually over cause it seemed the Serb got a TD without an issue. But What’s the point of even having multiple officials present if not one of them can figure out they are looking at the wrong challenge video? The replay wasn’t even from the same period shouldn’t they be obvious. Especially when’s it’s called to their attention more multiple time. Honestly, in the past some of Dakes complaining to the ref has got me annoyed but he was justified in this one. Dake should be pissed and glad he came back from it to win.

Amit in final at 68 WFS, Coon out first match 130 GR.
MadMardigain replied to mspart's topic in International Wrestling
Or because I like to regularly view all the Forum Menus my regular saved link brings up the Unread Threads list. With this unexpectedly being near the top of it. I apologize if I’m asking too much for someone just have a thread that says Day #, Weight #, or Wrestler Name Discussion/Results when the wrestling isn’t occurring at a viewable time but rather really early in the morning as people need to get ready for work or near the end of a regular work day. Just trying to not spend a week avoiding anything wrestling on this entire forum due to being a couple hours behind the stream. And no I do not want any part of her arm ties. -

If you could save the spoiler alerts for inside the thread or at least wait a day. Since the Paris Games occurring at odd times of the weekday some of us working people are waiting to watch the matches before knowing the results. I’m trying to avoid clicking on Olympic Topics but seeing the results in a Threat Title pretty much screws up that option. -
I get they “seed” the wrestlers but with the top UWW point acquirers aren’t often the weight class favorite. For most of the women being on the opposite side as Japan is probably the slightly easier route to a final.
-
Whatever you do don’t talk about your favorite international replacement on a wrestling fan message board. The UWW is always looking for a reason to disregard the entire careers work of “he who should not be named” if he is discussed as a replacement.

If only those schools were able to grow as big as him.

Medal imbalance in the Olympics
MadMardigain replied to KennyEBHS's topic in International Wrestling
I could settle for 1 bronze per weight add a few weight classes. But some counties want to make sure they can sneak a couple medals in each Olympics and wrestling is one of their few possibilities.
