If what I am hearing is accurate, and this is from multiple people who are in different circles, if they bought him out it wouldn't come from ASU. Zeke isn't under the same scrutiny as Hurley is. UofA doesn't have wrestling, so there's not a lot of pressure to do much other than have an AA or more per year, and nobody gets arrested off the mat. It's really a sweet gig Zeke has, and him not wanting to leave is a sign of how good he has it.

Hearing things about this already

Somebody closer to it explained that Martori wanted certain things done and that ASU was not going to stay in the Pac 12, so they needed to get new blood as far as a coach. Zeke basically refused, and again this is what somebody closer to it told me, so Martori "retired" and shut down Sunkist, partially because of that. Word was they wanted to pursue Taylor or somebody like that. Zeke felt he should go on his own terms and that's where the disagreement was.

Best to ever beat you (more post-NCAA banter)

I lost to Cheney Haight by tech fall once. Also once took a loss to Neal Rodak in 2003 or 2004, not a tech fall but fairly one sided. -
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/nov/22/john-allen-chau-man-killed-by-tribe-north-sentinel-island-declare-jesus This idiot got himself un-alived trying to force them to worship Jesus. https://people.com/american-youtuber-arrested-north-sentinel-island-diet-coke-11709703 And this moron went to go give them a Diet Coke and got completely ignored. Still got arrested because it's illegal to go to that island. Maybe take a hint that the people there don't want outsiders there and might kill you?

What will they have to bitch about ???

In the early 90s, Trump found himself the owner of a personal debt of $900 million. That's not the companies he owns. At the time, his companies were in $3.5 billion of corporate debt. No, he himself owed almost a billion dollars personally after somehow convincing the world he was worth more than NASA's 30-year Voyager missions to Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus. You could offer to buy everyone in the United States a drink and not owe as much money as he did. He could have personally cancelled out the Seychelles' economy by moving there. While sane men with jobs can't borrow a few grand, a man who's filed more 11's than a fantasy soccer manager was allowed to spend the lifetime income of over five hundred of them before anyone noticed he didn't actually have it. The corporate debts equal the entire education budget of two states, meaning society would actually have seen the exact same fiscal return if they'd invested the money in educating millions of children. And people still lend him money today. Enjoy that thought as you chew dry macaroni to pay off your student loans. -

It's like a guy who has declared bankruptcy 6 times isn't the most financially savvy person? Who knew? -
HS: 112-112-160-135*. I was injured junior year and wrestled one match on JV at 160. Didn't wrestle senior year because of an eligibility issue but would have gone 135 most likely. Post HS: 141, 132, 184.

This is a man who considers owing someone almost a trillion dollars as the time to start playing tough. If Trump was flushed out of an airliner and you tried to sell him a parachute on the way down, he'd sue you for implying he could fly.

Wisconsin Landslide: Referendum Against Trump/Musk

Friend of mine looked at the data. Not going to be a pleasant ride going into 2026. -
I know of a local guy, made a fortune through some less than ethical means, and became a far to the right Republican who actually changed his name legally so it would sound more like a campaign slogan. He had never played sports, but man did he love to act tough and like a big shot because his son wrestled. I don't typically root against kids, but it was satisfying to see his reaction when his kid got upset in the first round at state, after he'd spent all year bragging to anyone who'd listen about how much money he spent and all the things he bought for his kid to win a state championship. He was an election denier before it was cool, after he got trounced in a primary, and I wanted to say he should sue for a rematch.

People who aren't citizens but have legal status get a SSN assigned so they can work. It's not exactly breaking news or anything. It even says on the paperwork that comes with it that you aren't entitled to vote. And if somebody tries to do it anyway, it just gets rejected because they do check these things. Also there's no incentive to commit a crime, like voting illegally, that is easily traceable and will get you in trouble with ICE and possibly deported. It would be like robbing a bank with a poster board size copy of your driver's license hanging around your neck and you're wearing the same shirt as in your driver's license photo and shouting out your name so everyone hears you. -
I lost 2 of my kids prior to my last season to other schools that recruited them, which is against the rules. One of them was an All American the next season. The school I was at was 90% minority. My school wouldn't give me the resources needed to make the team better, and I lost those two. I'm not unhappy with them because they went where they needed to. But it sucks that you have talented wrestlers leave because of things beyond your control. And it wasn't even anything that was out of line I asked for and got denied. The school wouldn't pay an extra stipend for an assistant coach because they didn't think it was necessary. I had to be our own travel agent and instead of just submitting a transportation request, I had to actually fill out the administrative paperwork, get it signed, and return it to the district office. I don't know if they just didn't like wrestling or something, but I know basketball never had the same problems.

I can tell you having coached at a title 1 school that we had a lot of things going against us. We didn't have the parental involvement because parents were either working, wanted their kids working, or didn't speak English and had very limited involvement with school related things. None of those kids could afford going to club practice 2x a week. I paid for kids to get their USA card so they could go to weekend tournaments. The school wouldn't let me use the wrestling room outside of wrestling season, so we had to practice elsewhere when we could. Compare that to suburban schools that have more money and parents involved and an administration that was very accommodating. I had kids who were naturally talented, but we couldn't get them what they needed in the off season. One of the better girls who wrestled for me quit because her mom had a baby and needed her at home to help her and also to work to help the family. That isn't going to happen in a district with money.
