    They are at 6 men's teams and 8 women's teams right now, going to 6 and 9 might be a Title IX bridge too far, even for a modern day AD. Though I suppose they could invoke the football excuse.

    They dropped Men's soccer in 2017 after a very successful season, and had a player drafted in the MLS that year. I don't see them wanting to re-start one so soon.

    They cut men's swimming and diving in 2017, and still maintain a pool for their women's team. This sounds like a case of "math doesn't always work like it should." Probably want to have the fewest teams allowable while "balancing" Title IX.
