  1. Why would anyone want a PED user like Fix to win? It's bad for the sport.
  2. Real scored 0 offensive points versus Lee last year. Watch the match yourself:
  3. Jason Nolf High School/Personal: Nolf married Penn State women’s soccer player Maddie Elliston on June 30, 2018...Brought a lengthy list of accolades with him to the Penn State Nittany Lion family...Won three state titles in high school, at 103, 132 and 145...Amassed a 176-1 career record at Kittanning High School...Four-year wrestling letterman and one-time team captain...Lettered twice in cross country and one year in track and field...Competed in the 2014 USA vs. Pennsylvania Dapper Dan event and competed for the Young Guns wrestling club...Outstanding student, posting a 4.5 GPA, winning Kittanning’s Physics Award and the school’s Principal’s Award.
  4. Excellent for Murin
  5. Thinking back, I find it kind of crazy that Desanto never won a NCAA title or even made a NCAA finals. He made huge strides after transferring from Drexel to Iowa. I have to think if he was an Iowa recruit from the beginning (why didn't the Brands offer him after he beat Lee???) he would win at least 1 or 2 NCAA titles. He had an unstoppable motor, unlimited gas tank, strength, power and aggression. His one weakness was controlling his emotions, which to the Brands' credit, they got him to do while at Iowa. What do you think?
  6. Underestimate Mad Max at your own peril...
  7. Murin may shock some people
  8. I think Iowa gets multiple champs this year, even if Woods isn't one of them.
  9. Who do you see them losing to?
  10. 125 Lee 133 RBY 141 Woods 149 Yianni 157 AOC 165 Carr 174 Starocci 184 Keck 197 Nino HWT Parris I think it will Keck (Munoz beats him) or Nino (Allred takes him out).
  11. Wishful thinking IMO. Maybe on a lower tier team but not a team like Penn State.
  12. Howard bumps up to 133. Davis at 125. Steen should never sniff the lineup again barring multiple horrible injuries.
  13. Show me video evidence of the last time someone pinned using a spiral ride
  14. So a spiral ride or thigh pry should be called stalling then? Since you can’t pin someone with it.
  15. This is obviously insane as the Big 10 is by and far the best wrestling conference and is more likely to have 10 champs than none. But for the sake of fun, here are my picks, excluding all Big 10 wrestlers. 125 Glory 133 Fix 141 Alirez 149 Yianni 157 AOC 165 Carr 174 Lewis 184 Hidlay 197 Bonaccorsi HWT Hendrickson Looking back, this doesn't seem all that crazy actually...
  16. Iowa is a tough team. They will finish no lower than 2nd.
  17. It would be harder for 184 pounders to do so. But Dean is a small and short 197 pounder. Allred looked to be 2 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier (naturally).
  18. The problem is Dean isn't actually that great from neutral. He's got the left side single leg and that's about it. Very easy to scout and defend.
  19. I don't see Dean beating Allred. Here is why: 1. Allred is much bigger and longer than Dean. 2. Allred is better on his feet than Dean, by a lot. He took Dean down 3 times. 3. Allred can build a lead from neutral and avoid going on bottom. Allred's game plan is easy. Score 1 or 2 TDs in the first, don't pick bottom and win the match. For Dean to win he has to beat Allred in takedowns, which is going to be very hard for him.
  20. Lee is what he is. Teske starts with a tough Phillippi and then likely Aaron Nagao, who gave RBY a real challenge. Woods deservedly got the #1 seed. Murin really got the shaft - he has a 2nd round with Milner and then Yianni if he wins that one. Poor Max probably won't AA. Siebrecht has Model but then Robb 2nd round. Kennedy has Amine 2nd round and then Hamiti if he manages to win that one. Brands actually has a decent draw, given his seed. Assad got a decent draw too, given his seed. Warner gets Caffey first round and then Elam. Cass gets the 4 seed and might face Schultz in the quarters and Parris in the semis. Overall I'd say 6/10 of Iowa's guys got pretty unfavorable draws. Compare that to Penn State where I think only 2 guys (Brooks and Dean, especially) got unfavorable draws. It will be tough sledding for Iowa to win the team title with these draws.
  21. Brooks would have rather gotten the 4 to face Keck in the semis instead of Hidlay.
  22. The top seed also lost though. And lost to Brooks badly in the all star match.
  23. He beat the pants off the 1 seed earlier this year in an exhibition which obviously didn’t count.
  24. Penn State got pretty favorable seeds except for Brooks getting the 3. And Dean seeded at 9th means he’s expected to go from national champ last year to missing the podium altogether this year. Brutal weight.
