  1. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/brand-great-again-anheuser-busch-162731828.html More than four months after Bud Light's marketing blunder, the beer brand remains in the spotlight. Now Billy Busch, heir to the Anheuser-Busch dynasty, presents an intriguing proposition to Bud Light's parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev SA (NYSE:BUD). "I urge that company, InBev, if they don't want that brand any longer, sell it back to the Busch family. Sell it to me. I'll be the first in line to buy that brand back from you. And we'll make that brand great again," he said during Tomi Lahren's show "Fearless." Oh no, not MAGA Bud Light!!!! mspart
  2. We need height and weight. Where is that? mspart
  3. But it didn't kill massive numbers of those aged 0-50. That is a fact. And of those over 50 the kill rate was higher but total kill vs total in that age group was not all that great. Covid is a hysteria that has no basis in science or in statistics. Young kids don't get it and therefore don't spread it. They don't have any role to play with regard to covid. mspart
  4. Hi Plasi, what about Money is garbage to you? I love that song and do not consider it garbage. I'd be interested in your opinion. mspart
  5. Another anecdote, my son has worked in Target three times. The last as a security guy. He was not allowed to stop shop lifters and they were constant. Great security force there. He quit because it was extremely boring. Now looking for a new job. mspart
  6. To respond to both. REI and Walmart are no longer in Portland OR for this very reason. General shoplifting is so prolific that these stores were losing money. Nordstrom left their 5 floor department location in San Francisco for the same reason. The owners of the Westfield Mall in San Francisco left, no longer paying the lease. The 1981 room Hilton closed down. It may not be flash mobs, but it is general crime that is making these places apparently unfit for these businesses to continue doing business in those areas. If you would like to read more on these examples: https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/westfield-pulling-out-of-downtown-san-francisco/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/park-hotels-leaving-san-francisco-clouded-recovery/ https://www.seattletimes.com/business/records-show-rei-frustration-with-portland-officials-as-closure-loomed/ https://www.koin.com/news/oregon/portlands-last-2-walmart-locations-closing-doors-friday/ My friends, this cannot continue and us have the convenient life we have grown accustomed to. The experiment of allowing people to commit crime with no penalty is a failure and needs to be reversed. It is time for law and order again. My wife's uncle was beaten up by some random guy the other day in Portland. He is 70. He is a bus driver in Portland. This has just gotten out of control. This story of people being assaulted happens with regularity in towns and cities across the country but no arrests or investigations happen in the bigger cities. We are degenerating into a living hell in these cities and it needs to stop. NYC was similar then it got cleaned up and was one of the safer cities in which to reside. It can be done. But it takes decisive action and adhering to the rule of law. mspart
  7. Oh yeah, the original was on the top 100 charts for over 700 consecutive months. Lots of people bought that album. Me included. I agree, one listen and forgotten. I don't care for the vocal either. He's not much of a vocalist anyway. But he is trying to erase the contributions of David Gilmour and Rick Wright. They were integral to making the Pink Floyd sound. And he has taken those away. The music is similar but not nearly as well done as the original. It is different, but not in a good way. He's just a mean old man trying to get his last licks in. Thanks WR and MP for responding. mspart
  8. BRICS to make a new currency to derail the dollar. EU already tried that with the Euro and that didn't take down the dollar. In fact it was worth more than a dollar and now is about equal to. But it has not become the defacto currency. I predict BRICS won't change anything. If I'm wrong - Hongzhao is a nice city. mspart
  9. OK, I've had enough. I can't take BB anymore!! Ban him!!! I am serious!!! He is just too civil to be on this board, not breaking rules, and arguing and submitting new music ideas and stuff. Plus he likes it here and wants to stay. What better reason do we have to ban him from here than that!! mspart PS: For all you folks that can't read between the lines properly, I was being sarcastic above. I don't want him banned. But I would like his opinion on my Roger Waters thread. If he doesn't do that, then ban him!!
  10. https://bestclassicbands.com/roger-waters-dark-side-of-the-moon-redux-8-24-23/ This is the worst thing he could have done in my opinion. Here is his new version of Time. Here is his new version of Money: Just awful. What is he thinking? Who would want to listen to this garbage? I read about this effort some time back and thought this might be interesting. NOT!! Who would have purchased this back in the day and who would purchase it now? I love Pink Floyd but this is an abomination. Other opinions? mspart
  11. The vaccines have been proven not to prevent Covid nor the spread of covid. The best that they can say is they are like a flu shot, the symptoms shouldn't be as bad if you do get it. But we have been through this. Covid is life threatening (original covid that is) for older people with bad immune systems and those with comorbidities. It is not life threatening on the population ages 0-50. Please don't make me drag out those old statistics, we all know them. No mandates for a vaccine that may, may possibly, be effective for a few months. No mask mandates as the masks are useless against a virus so small. No lockdowns, we have seen what that has done to our children. The reaction to covid is a lot more dangerous to everyone on the whole than getting covid. Remember all the layoffs due to businesses not being critical? Remember all the forced terminations due to not getting the vaccine? In WA, we are still dealing with that issue as the Governor still will not hire those people back at the level that they were at. This has wrecked the Ferry system and that is a vivid reminder of dangerous covid policy. Also as disease mutates, it generally gets less deadly while being more prevalent. That has been the case with covid, and the less deadly variants as time went on. Also, people died of lots of things, but if they had covid, they died of covid. In the beginning, it was new and no one knew anything about it and we all panicked. Now we know and there is no need to panic. mspart
  12. I can see Dylan and Jackson. They wrote most of their stuff. I don't think Elvis wrote much, but I could be wrong. Same for Nelson. Now I must say I don't care for Dylan and really don't care for Jackson. But they did have immense talent. mspart
  13. This ^. This describes the world we live in now. Right is wrong, and wrong is right. Gun laws are good but are not imposed on criminals using guns. I could go on and on. It isn't so bad that someone (not blind) will say they see only darkness on a cloudless day at noon. But we inch closer as we accept the mutilation and chemical castration of kids too young to make that decision for themselves, and school districts are complicit as are cities, states, and the national leaders. Have you ever wondered why the school nurse can't give your kid an aspirin or Tylenol or anything similar but can facilitate abortions and sex change procedures called gender affirming care without the knowledge of the parents? That is the situation now in many parts of the nation, certainly here in WA. 13 year olds are medically emancipated from their parents. 5 years ago this would have been called abuse of the grossest kind. But now it is celebrated as life affirming. We don't let these people vote, drive cars, buy guns, buy alcohol, but by golly they can make decisions that affect their lives for the rest of their lives with no idea of the consequences because their brains are not yet developed to make those kinds of decisions. And we know that from science. Something is wrong with that and everyone knows it. Yet many hide behind this as if it is a good thing. It is madness. Wrong is now right and right is now wrong. It is quite apparent. mspart
  14. How many of those handguns were lawfully obtained by the shooter? How many of these guns would have been registered? mspart
  15. The one that no one heard? The one that no one heard yet he was impeached for? And he did that to call out investigate Hunter Biden and his dad that we now know was correct? That one? mspart
  16. Interesting that Brahms, Beethoven, Handel, Mozart etc are not on the list. Not that I like classical music but their genius is almost beyond compare. Or is this an exercise about modern english speaking musicians? If the latter: Jimmy Page Eric Clapton Elton John Carol King mspart
  17. Almost smoked some meat It happened just the other day It's been quite a long time Since I had it my way But I didn't and I wonder why I grieve not smoking and want to die. Thank you Thank you Thank you!! I couldn't have done it without you all. Some might say I should never have done it at all. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! mspart
  18. I agree, convictions should not occur because of "plausible". There needs to be great evidence here, but we might get that with a Hunter trial. If not ok. But if so, then that will be something to think about that is being dismissed today. Me saying something is true of course does not make it true, just like you saying it is not true does not make it not true. With evidence mounting, you are in a particularly indefensible position. You are now arguing that what has been established as true is not and even if so is irrelevant. Do you also argue about what the definition of is is? a) There are photos of Joe Biden with Hunter and business partners. There is evidence of Joe at Hunter business dinners. There is evidence of Joe being on a phone call when Hunter was shaking down a Chinese guy for money. I'd say Joe's statement that he didn't know anything about Hunter's business dealings was a bit more than him being wrong, it's a lie. b) Joe categorically denied Hunter made money in China. Even WAPO says that is not true. So is Joe just wrong, or did he lie? He lied. Quote from the WAPO article above, "But now, nearly three years later, Biden’s assertions have been directly rebutted by Hunter himself. In court testimony last week, the younger Biden acknowledged that he in fact had been paid substantial sums in China — the first official confirmation that this was the case." I suppose you could use the Alzheimer's defense that he didn't know what he was talking about. But that opens another can of worms. mspart
  19. In these 3 sentences, you both say you didn't say it and then you say it. You are giving your opinion that everything presented thus far are benign facts. All other opinions on the matter are false or without merit, is the implication. And you know that is not true. In fact you do not know that the facts are benign, you are hoping they are. I must say I am surprised that you as a lawyer are not more curious regarding these benign facts. Who was Joe working for while VP? Obama or Hunter? Both apparently. This does not raise a single question for you? Very surprising. Why did he lie about something so benign? That is the question most Americans, when presented with this, will ask themselves and come up with a very different answer than what you have presented. In other words, because evidence hasn't surfaced yet, there is nothing to see here folks. Nothing happened. It's all a witch hunt. Except there is incontrovertible evidence that Biden lied as noted above. So if these are benign facts, why did Biden lie? I reiterate, I don't think Biden will be the D candidate going into the 2024 general election. Damaged goods now. mspart
  20. It has been proved that Joe lied about: a) Not knowing anything about Hunter's business dealings. Archer's testimony refutes this categorically. b) Hunter not making any money in China. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/08/01/biden-said-his-son-earned-no-money-china-his-son-says-otherwise/ I think you are right that the "smoking gun" or evidence regarding Joe has not been revealed. So that should stop the investigation right? That's how an investigator would treat this right? Whatever happened to keep digging until you find something. Perhaps that's what you don't want to happen. Archer said Joe didn't say much of substance while in the meetings with Hunter's partners, and that he didn't have to. The access to the VP was the point, not the content of the meetings. This is all very clearly established. The question for Joe is why did he lie about a) and b) above? What was the point? To a normal not lawyer type, it looks like he was hiding information he did not want known. Why else lie about it? I'm not sure what it looks like to a lawyer type? I'm sure different lawyers will have different opinions on it. Perhaps you being a lawyer can answer that. Lessee - He lied because he could and there really was no reason to do it, nothing to see here folks. Or, he didn't lie and is still not lying. You would have to prove that one I guess. mspart
  21. Seeing how this map is vague, it is not of much use other than to say it indicates the USA remains the main destination, which bolsters the claim it is the "Last Beacon of Hope" or "Preferred beacon of hope", and that there are growing areas producing migrants and they go to places that are closer to home but better than home. You can see that very clearly. Light Red areas (migrant producers) are pretty much adjacent to newer centers of migration growth. I did notice that you did not refute my position on your statement. Must not have been as good as you thought in retrospect. Upshot is with this post, you are trying to deny that most immigrants come to the US and the reason why. There is a reason for it and I'll leave it to you to figure it out. mspart
  22. Great show@!!. The people of West Germany did not like it to be fair. I doubt the people of East Germany ever saw it. mspart
  23. https://jonathanturley.org/2023/08/09/how-donald-trumps-indictment-could-backfire-on-joe-biden/ Interesting take by Jonathan Turley. He is saying that the same accusations against Trump, could be levied against Biden. Trump is being indicted for knowingly saying false things about the election, to put it simply. The same could be used against Biden for knowingly saying false things about his knowledge and participation in his son's business dealings. Again, I don't think Biden will run for President again. Only Ds and very few I's will vote for him if this narrative keeps growing which it has been doing over the past 6 months plus. R's and most I's won't vote for him I don't think. And any presidential candidate will need to attract the I's. I'm guessing fair minded I's will not want to be voting for Biden because of: a) He's very old b) He is not very sharp and has physically regressed c) It appears he is part of an influence peddling scheme that most fair minded Americans find abhorrent. mspart
  24. I don't think you are mistaken, that was a R talking point about Weiss not being in control of the investigation to where it lead him. So he can now do that presumably. mspart
